Then And Now

Just thinking of the parallels between 1991 and 2011

1 player scored in every round (Kirk), now Sutton

We had a capped NI player playing for us (O'Neill) now Craggs

The third goal in the semi was a screamer (O'Neill) now Sutton

We beat the holders (Aberdeen) now Dundee Utd

I had a beard then, I grew it back just before Christmas....

Celtic were paranoid, no change there then...

Must be others...

:whistling: On a slight tangent the official founding date for the club is given as 18th May 1886, Cup Final is 21st May which would be the equivalant Saturday thus marking our 125th anniversary , tenous at best I know but my brain is still a bit fuzzy.

memo to self Having a few beers at 9am in the Cooper Suite did seem like a good idea

In the 1952 final when we won the cup we pumped Dundee 4-0, I know that has nothing to do with the 1991 final but just thought i'd point that out lol

(Wilson) Humphries scored the third goal for the winning team in the 1952 final...

maybe....

(Chris) Humphrey scores the third goal for the winning team in the 2011 final....

Tory Prime Ministers; assuming no assassination/coup/sudden illness etc:

1952- Churchill

1991- Major

2011- Cameron

Don't know who was in when we lost the big finals. but, as always, the internet is your friend here....

SD

The 5-1 humping would have been under Labour/Blair.

Might start voting Tory now!

In 1926, the last time Manchester City beat Man Ure in the FA Cup semi-final, Celtic also beat Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup going on to lose the final to a provincial club, St Mirren.

Definitely think that's the winner!
