Went exactly how I thought it would. A new manager trying to establish a completely new style of play while integrating new players up against a team who put 10 men behind the ball to frustrate . Is anyone REALLY surprised we struggled to break them down exactly as in the previous 2 games. Tell you what though I'd rather watch that style of football than what I've endured for the last 2 seasons.2 points

Dundee 0 - 0 at half time St Johnstone 0 - 0 at half time Livi 1 - 0 up at home to Brora Rangers It's almost like this is still mid preseason for the Premiership teams.2 points

I appreciate the effort, but the camera work is like a combination of a weird French art house film and The Blair Witch Project. Just need a red balloon floating by and twig man.2 points

👍 I think the vast majority of us are onboard with that tbh.2 points

I'll enjoy watching grown men get upset at the football, you don't have to "get" it to be fair. There were boos ringing out when Matty Connelly beat a Peterhead player on the 6 yard line with the ball at his feet. Boos! I laughed like fuck at that, I enjoyed it. Two mugs were punching each other over the goalie at the Clyde game. I laughed when I found out what it was about. I enjoyed the thought that two blokes can get so wound up they decided to fight like 15 year old boys. Come mid August, if we get when we get caught out, cos we will, and I see people purple in the face, I will laugh. Sure, I may change my mind, later in the season. Meh, we'll see.2 points

This is a discussion that comes up most years at this time. I remember after a mediocre pre season game against Gateshead a few years back this was a topic of conversation. I don't agree with your view on this. It's pre-season is not an excuse with which to whitewash over the mediocrity of the professional teams in this country. FC Twente showed what a real difference in quality is pre-season or not. The fact is that Motherwell have had the luxury of a week's summer camp in the Netherlands. They have professional players that can rest, prepare, plan for each game. They have Sports Scientists looking after their preparation. The teams that Motherwell, Dundee, St Johnstone are struggling to beat are full of journeymen, part time players, trialists trying to juggle football with other jobs. Motherwell should be beating these teams in the way FC Twente beat us, pre-season or not. What the results above tell us is that St Johnstone, Livi and Dundee are very average professional sides. We seem to find every reason possible in Scotland for accepting mediocrity and managing expectation. St Mirren showed what should be happening in these games.1 point

Don't think it was a hard watch, more a boring training exercise.1 point

Looked like goalie saved the free kick but somehow linesman doesn’t see it and ref no clue1 point

Total domination of possession but absolutely toothless up front. The pitch and the weather conditions clearly aren’t helping to be fair.1 point

Given we don't have a defence, makes a lot of sense Score more than we concede1 point

SODS fault it's raining. See , started already Seriously hope we play so much in the opposition half we don't bemoan our defenders and to be fair to SOD his passing is generally decent.1 point

It is a “sort of” project as we’ve not played this way before. I do think it can work, Guardiola has showed that but he does have the world’s best defenders at his disposal. This style would work easily in womens football as it’s incredibly slower than men’s football. for me, I can’t help but think it’d be quite easy to play against at our level. You’ll have 2 opposing players shutting our defenders (who aren’t great on the ball) down immediately, and ….. it may come as a surprise to some folk …. But we don’t have the worlds best defenders at our disposal. lets see how it goes today again, let’s hope for an improvement on the past two games, that’s all we can ask for. still think we’ll win 3-01 point

Keeping a hold of the ball isn't a " project ", it's how the majority of the world play now...even the limited time I've seen of the women's football shows this Whether our fans accept it is another matter, but giving the players and mgr a hard time won't help.1 point

Another tricky one on another artificial surface and I have no doubt another struggle. 2-1 home win.1 point

I’ll put this out here now, We will not be beating Morton next week. Morton have a decent side and a streetwise manager, helped by a streetwise director of football. I’ll be at the game, I’ll not be booing, shouting at players or calling for JBA,s head…. But we will not be winning that game.0 points
