  1. Having been on this forum for a while now I’m not sure even that’s enough, some people’s expectations of incoming players seem to be higher than the reality is ever going to be. Some asked for the better Championship level player, that was then not enough, established Premiership level players, not enough. I’m sure we could all give a long list of the best Premiership players but I can pretty much guarantee not a single one of them would join us unless we offered stupid wages that would bankrupt the club moving forward.
  2. It depends what your expectations are regarding the level of quality ?
  3. We sort of say that every summer
  4. To be fair on this one I’m not that far off you. He’s decent but that’s about it in my view.
  5. I think Lamie is getting slightly talked up. Being the best of a very poor bunch does not automatically make you a good player. He’s very average at best in my view.

    Alexander.

I think “if they showed up” would be key. It’s easy to look back with a degree of rose tinted spectacles in my view. Skippy, Pearson, Ainsworth had technical ability but how often were you not aware they were even on the field ? They were incredibly inconsistent which is why we ended up in a play off against a truly dreadful Rangers team that this seasons team would also have beaten in my view.
  7. We’ve finished 5th and reached the quarter finals of the cup and that’s a good season, I’m happy enough. Let’s see what happens in the summer.
  8. The points difference between the old firm and everyone else tells its own story, embarrassing and boring these days and it’s never going to change.
  9. I would certainly take a chance on Scott. He’s young, strong, pretty decent pace, and does have a level of technical ability. Putting all that together that’s superior to a good few of our normal summer signings over the last five years.
  10. Grimmy goes with my best wishes. Lots of effort but technically very limited sadly.

    Debate over ?
  12. Job done, well done Alexander.
  13. It’s taking a sensible long term view, Hybrid pitches are so much more stable and easier to maintain. It’s like constantly paying for repairs to an old car, eventually it has to go off to the scrapyard.

My views exactly from start to finish, many supporters are still not seeing the real picture, it’s not the managers.

It’s no longer a conversation after today in my view Yodo, not that I thought there was a chance of him leaving anyway.
  16. Yep, he undoubtably has the technical ability to be playing at a bigger club, he’s with us because he’s weak in other areas. He is however the one player we have that can turn a game and signing an extension to his contract would be a huge bonus.
  17. Personally I’m not sure why this always seems to be an issue, it’s been shown that the club gives young players a chance IF they look to have the qualities needed, only a small minority coming through any club do make the grade.
  18. Yep we’ve certainly widened the field including looking at Scandinavia, it not the area that matters anyway it’s who you sign.
  19. Of course it’s always about more than one player. However saying that I firmly believe we would be top four if Watt had stayed, it’s been so close in many games and his abilities as mentioned above would no doubt have pushed one or two games in our favour and given how tight it is that’s all we needed. These things are always a gamble and you want a happy player but it worked against us this time.

Were you actually a very positive supporter before Robinson Yodo ?

It’s always about having a balanced view for me. There will always be a percentage of supporters at every club who scream for a change of manager, the board being kicked out every time things are not going well which of course is their right, history however shows too much upheaval rarely works. As you point out Alexander has taken the club from a poor position in the league, through covid, and given us a top six finish, and the quarter finals of the Scottish cup. He’s new to Scottish football, and he will now hopefully have learnt a little more about what’s needed for next season. I don’t enjoy the football that much but am under no illusion it’s unlikely to get better with another change of manager. I said a week or so ago I did not think we would win another game this season and my view remains the same. As “hope springs” states, no one is blindly backing him, I think just about everyone realises where we are and what we’ve seen this season, I personally have always trusted the board and they continue to have that trust. I again believe he will start next season as manager and then the big test for him begins. Is he the great pretender, or someone that will be a genuine asset to the club moving forward, we will see.

Who did you hear from, someone reliable within the club ?

I failed to see any rapport between both steelboy and Yodo with Robinson at any point if I’m being honest.

I’m not even sure he has supporters, I’m just looking at the overall position for the season in the league and cup. I think that’s the case with the majority who feel he will get to start next season. I don’t particularly enjoy the football at the moment.
