  1. Aye there's a lot of that around the day, pal.
  2. Thats a good point... never a manager in his own right, he works well with Butcher though.
  3. Nae one special mate... ma son was at the pro youth set up at Motherwell for nearly ten years, so I got to know a lot of people. Got my ear to the ground.
  4. We need to look up, not down.
  5. A very good source of mine and trusted info hound heard from the horses mouth that Butcher WOULD take a phone call from JB if it came his way... You on the phone yet John?
  6. Knowing Chris personally, I'd welcome this. For many reasons.
  7. I'm shocked at the speed of events, and indeed the duplicity seemingly shown by both Craig and Archie. Not only does it show an immense lack of professionalism I never had him down for, but also an incredible and soul sapping lack of loyalty. I literally never saw this coming. If you put Aberdeen side by side with Motherwell over the last ten years we are the better team by a country mile. The turn around needed to get them even to our level this season would be in my opinion unsaleable. Did Craig lie? Did he back stab us? Are we worth better? Have Aberdeen shown the disdain and disrespect they clearly have for "smaller" clubs? Absolutely. I'm not sure the vitriol in the forum is helping matters though. He was a good manager for us, and is entitled to go, no matter how two faced he went about it. We should show the same dignity as the Club - after all we are all part of it - and make our point without cursings and slaggings. It won't help the situation. But we have to take something from this. What we take from it is that we are the better and bigger team. We've shown immense loyalty and dignity in this situation and the statement from the Club is spot on. So we cast the Brown era aside and look to the future. There are things we must do. Tie down whoever wants to stay. Lose the rest. No begging, no chasing. They're either Steelmen or they're not. Same goes for the new management team. Proper contract. Proper money. And a proper Steelman. Luc Nijholt anyone?
  8. Guys, I've just checked the BBC, AFC and MFC websites and NO ONE is confirming this... could this be a bush fire?
  9. Is this a joke? When did this happen? He just pledged his loyalty to Motherwell yesterday!!! What the fucks going on??? I feel like I've been butt fucked!
  10. I can't believe the Leitchy bashing in this thread! Jesus Christ! Scott Leitch has been a good servant to MFC, both as a player and as a Coach. He has also been a fabulous mentor and supporter of the pro-youth set up and has spent - and still does spend - a lot of time around the younger teams helping where he can and observing them all. He jumped at the chance to come back after Ross County, but, as pointed out, his managerial record isn't great. When McGhee left, it was a fair assumption that a new manager would bring in a whole new team, and Scott would have been out of work. At the end of the day he took a guaranteed job over a wudda cudda shudda. Who wouldn't do the same? If he did come back, as a servant of Motherwell, I'd support and welcome him. No jerseys were sold in the making of this post.
  11. Phew! Couple of things come to mind... 1) I thought Jack and Victor were doing us a favour and kind of got stuck... I'd be surprised if they were out to create a new career like that and go round a club or two 2) Who do Aberdeen really think they are? Twice they've circled out management team now. Why the hell would anyone want to go up there rather than stay with us? Their history is just that. History. We're a better team. 3) Thank fuck!
  12. Sorry, I'm an official fanny! Consider it changed.
  13. My team would be RANDOLPH HATLEY CRAGGS REYNOLDS HAMMELL MURPHY LASLEY JENNINGS SUTTON HUMPHREY BLACKMAN but he's more likely to play RANDOLPH SAUNDERS CRAGGS REYNOLDS HAMMELL MURPHY JENNINGS HATLEY HUMPHREY GOW BLACKMAN with Murph and Humph swapping
  14. Here is some Portuguese to welcome our officials with: Árbitro você é um canalha traindo = Referee ya chattin bastard! Você está tendo um ref rir? = are you having a laugh ref? Isso nunca foi impedimento ya boceta = that was never offside ya c**t De jeito nenhum! Árbitro! Você está brincando cara!? Essa foi uma stonewaller! = guess! Quem comeu todas as tortas? = who ate all the pies? O que você está aqui para bandeirinha? = what are you here for linesman? and of course Obrigado por ajudar e permitir que este jogo para ir em frente. Sobre o Porto! and finally, a wee song Nós te amamos Bem, nós Nós te amamos também, o que fazemos Nós te amamos Bem, nós Oh Motherwell nós te amamos Free to join in at any time.
  15. Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest!
  16. You know it's bad when a Pole won't take a job in Scotland!
  17. Some of the names mentioned right enough have left a MFC different from the one we have now, of course. Faddy and Pearo for instance left a Well that SHOULD have been relegated, and others when we were floundering in the bottom 6. We're not always the third force in Scotland. Hehe
  18. Are those no the linesmen for County?
  19. Probably not entirely. Whilst I was being a bit flippant about the working-in-tescos analogy, I do get that there is a heart and loyalty to a club and that most footballers want to, well, actually play football. However, take £1000 at Motherwell and do what we do or £15,000 at Barnsley or somewhere and sit on your arse. It's an easy choice. Even if it's not that cynical, surely the thought is "well I'm good enough to play..." even if they're not. Pearo again is a good example, as the previous poster pointed out, a fabulous CV for a mediocre/average player.
  20. I find it difficult to condemn anyone who leaves Motherwell for elsewhere, because at the end of the day, it's a job of work and they have to go where the money is for themselves and their families. I mean, if it was a different profession, you wouldn't condemn a guy for moving to Sainsburys from Tescos cos he got a more money. Whether they are successful or not really doesn't matter. Pearo is a good example. Had a decent season here, had his wages trebled then doubled and sits and does fuck aw. Good on him I say. Others, like Coke of Juke or even Kerr and Hughes are journeymen players who don't care if they're playing for us or Bin Laden FC cos it's all about the dosh, and rightly so. Guys like Las and Hammy who have come home again - and Uncle Phil let's not forget - show a bit of humility and great dignity as well as loyalty and that has to be respected. I reckon we'll see Clarky again too, cos, despite all I said, I reckon his heart is in Fir Park. The ones that piss me off though are the ones who go away and start kissing other badges. Wee McDonald is a good example of this. What a tit. How I smirked when Mowbery got the Middlesborough job! No need to be a c**t about it, Skippy! Same wi Derek Townsley too... although to be fair he took a fair bit of stick off us before he left!
