Have to agree with you 100%....why drop a player when he is playing well and getting better with every game he plays!!! Main reason why i think a move away would do him good, i feel he will always be classed as the utility player at motherwell no matter what he does whereas at a different club he would be on par with everyone else. I'm sure given the option he would be happy staying at Motherwell and proving he is better than a utility player, but will he get the opportunity????

Maybe i am contradicting myself a bit, i'm just so disappointed as i think the team in a whole is better than they showed today. The point i was trying to make about O'Brien,and i don't think he was soley to blame for todays result,was that he didn't have his best game today, in fact he looked a bit scared,so why not sub him? I don't think Fitzpatrick should have played in front of anyone who did play,however he may have brought something to the game had he been brought on. In my opinion Fitzpatrick would probably benefit from a move away from firpark, i feel it would be the making of him!!

Hammel is never a midfielder, he looked lost at times today. Coach is never a left back, and then to move him into midfield.....it just doesn't look good for coach and people were getting on his back when you can't blame him for playing where he's been told to play, likewise Hammel. O'Brien did not have his best game , maybe nerves who knows but why move him to the other wing if your not playing well in your favoured position????? We may have looked like the better team in the first half but who came home with the 3 points!!!!!

I think McGhee will be our manager next season, his problem as far as i'm concerned is that he does not seem ever to have a plan B if Plan A isn't working. Today he played Hammel in midfield!!!! He played coach at left back!!!!! And O'Brien had a shot at both sides of the park!!!! WHY!!!! Changes should have been made at half time because although we did ok first half we never looked like scoring therefore plan a was not working!!!! Subs are allowed for a reason....

Get your point ,though i think he would rather play at Ibrox for the experience, as he hasn't played there or at Parkhead, so i imagine he'll be gutted!

Unfortunately that's him suspended for the game at Ibrox!

Regardless of whether i'm a relation of Fitzy's or not i'm still entitled to voice my opinions on this board the same as everyone else!! As for me having rose tinted glasses as you suggest, i would point out that i am one of his biggest critics when i feel criticism is deserved. Most people on this site have no idea what Fitzy's role is on the park, he may play the short pass or at times not see much of the ball but that does not make him the crap player that a big percentage of the fans on this board think he is!!! He does hear the abuse that is shouted at him and some of his team mates from the crowd and although he says it doesn't affect him i'm not so sure, although if the manager is playing him that's all that matters as far as he's concerned. In the case of me getting at Hughes, i didn't mean to criticise Hughes but it was pretty obvious today that there was times when hughes was out of position and getting in Fitzy's way,but other players are allowed wee mistakes or the missed pass and they are not slared for it because they are the fans favourites. I will continue to put my opinion forward for any player, including Fitzy, if i feel the player is being criticised unfairly, no matter what!

Hughes was definately supposed to play as a left winger but with instructions to get up front!!, but your right he played as if he had a free role across midfield and kept getting in Fitzy's way which made Fitzy look worse than he was, and left Fitzy in limbo at times!! Have to agree it was a terrible first half.

Think it was a 4-3-3 formation!! Hughes Clarky and O'Brien being the front three although i think Hughes forgot at times as he kept drifting! Pitch was a disgrace and didn't help our type of game so it's going to be a long season. We've got to remember that we've had a good wee run without losing so maybe encouragement is the answer as that breeds success, as opposed to slating the players who were trying to play football on that surface, our fans at times are never happy no matter what.......and i see fitzy's copping the flack again when he was no worse than the rest of them today!!!! Time to change the record please

Are you really a motherwell fan,? Delwell You have done nothing but slate the players, try looking for some positives instead of continually looking for faults, so ok we didn't win today but we didn't lose either!!! I thought the team in a whole battled well, and on another day the ball would have ended up in the back of the net, but today it was not to be......but it wasn't for the lack of effort. Have a read at the official site and get a man's opinion on the game today who seems to know what he's talking about.
