  1.

if you had paid attention to my posts after the morton friendly in july you would have known bradley, mckinnon, halsman, lawless, smith and howarth were never good enough.

anyone with their ear to the ground would have heard the nasty rumour about our youth development people being disciplined due to the amount of no hopers getting senior contracts.

steelboy you must be serious contender for fool of the century with they statements. It took Mccall up to last week to decide if he could budget for 2 of the players you have mentioned above, but you could have saved McCall, MFC and most of all the guys you named money, effort and time.

I`m a relative of one of they no-hopers you have named above and would like to know what makes you such an expert? And how many yrs you have earned a living from football, like they no-hopers.

As for the youth development, murphy, saunders, hutchy, mcHugh, carswell, page, that`s a shocking return on our youth development

  2. Lawless, halsman, forbes and McKinnon will not be playing part time football, all have offers on the table from full time teams , England & Scotland.

McCall would have liked to have kept a few, but budget dictated things, Best wishes go to all the guys released, and hope they carve out a career for themselves elsewhere.

  3. There`s no way any Well players are on £2.5K a week and that is FACT, £1.5k -£2k is the top earners down to £300 per week.

Some guys are being offered more bucks from 1st Div clubs to sign at end of season. 3 or 4 guys already told they can go and others will find out very soon.

  4. is that not due to the reduced squad sizes around the league more than anything else? there aren't many experienced players that aren't playing regular first team football.

what experienced players are twiddling their thumbs rather than playing a bounce game?

Of course it is, that is what i was saying in the last 4 or 5 lines, only the old firm can field a team of 90% senior pro`s or pro`s with lots of experience.

Who said there was senior pro`s sitting twiddling their fingers, i said the bounce games are mostly 19 & 20 yrs old. There are some older pros who play in the bounce games.

  5. Not many senior players have been playing in any of the bounce games, all mostly 19 and 20 year olds. The old reserve league featured lots more experienced pros and only a handful of youth, this gave them more experience. When Lawless, McHugh, Slane ect, were 16 and McGee was in charge they played regular reserve games against senior pro`s, that has been taken away from them now. Lawless has been out in the 3rd div for a year and 3 months in the 2nd div and has gained a lot of game experience against senior pro`s. The youth sitting in the dug out or in the stand hardly play against men, only rangers & celtic and to an extent hearts (not for long) have reserve teams with senior pro`s. The rest of the teams have to rely on youth for bounce games.

  6. The main problem for the boys who get signed after coming through the under19`s is there is no longer a reserve league, where these boys would be getting regular football against boys in the same situation and also senior players who are coming back from injury or not getting into their teams. Experience !!!

And also how can McCall change a team that is currently sitting 3rd in the league. In Lawless`s case he has Daley & Humphrey in front of him starting, unless 1 gets injured or leaves, then he will struggle to get into the team. the same goes for McHugh, with Murphy and Higdon starting before him, and that also goes for Carswell. The team has been lucky with injuries so far (defence excluded) and the gaffer will not change a winning team, just for the sake of it.So depending on transfer activity the boys will struggle to get games in my opinion.

  7. If we are playing the form in the last 10 games overall why is Murphy playing other than his 3 goals or so ? If Humphrey was diabolical Saturday what was Murphy, Higdon, Lasley, and Jennings, Hamell Craggs ? Humphrey played very well last night and deserves a start spot Saturday if not injured. Murphy was poor again and so was Jennings, but i would still put them in this Saturday as they are better than we have from the bench

I never mentioned any of the above cos this is a thread about Chris Humphrey, but my thoughts on the players mentioned above, just for you Dazzer.

Murphy...Played out of position in about half the games so far this season. When played in his natural position he is our main goal threat.

Higdon... Not the most energetic footballer we have seen, canny jump (couldn`t slip a £5 under his feet, when jumping), i would give Bob or Gary Smith their chance, to see what we get, at least they will run a lot more.

Lasley... Not been at his best in the last 3 games, but started the season well.

Jennings... Thought he looked over weight when he returned from pre-season, not hit the heights of last season, so give Carswell a run and lets see what he can do.

Hamell... Last 3 games not been at his best, but has had one of his best starts to the season.

Craggs... who do we replace him with at the moment. we could play Page alongside Clancy, but Clancy is not a CH. So Craggs has to stay there until Hutchy and Saunders are fit.

As for all of the above being better than what we have on our bench, how do you know that, cos they have never had a proper run in the 1st team, until they do we will never know what they can do.

  8. This is what I do not understand. What disappointing performance??

Last night Motherwell were 100 times better than on Saturday and we were incredibly lucky not to go through last night, not least an offside goal that was apparently well onside. That and Hibs hit 8 belting penalties which you cannot account for.

If we had a goal poacher we would have been in double figures. That we do not probably has more to do with budget constraints than anything else.

Defensively we were again a little suspect, but it was end to end stuff and our tactics this season are obviously to outscore the opposition. We are committing players forward leaving the defense exposed and thanks to injuries a defence that has a makeshift central defence.

As disappointed as I am with the final outcome I am a LOT happier that we turned it around after the horror show that was last Saturday.

Perhaps wee g you should head to Old Trafford or the Nou Camp if last night was a disappointing performance!

You are correct in saying that the performance was 100% better than the weekend (would not have been hard), but last night was against a team that are joint last in the SPL with the second worst goals scored record and also the 2nd worst goal difference and have only won 1 game all year. So if you think that was a decent performance & you are happy paying to watch your team be defeated against the 2nd worst team in the SPL, then carry on.

  9. Correct! And don't you fuckin forget it!

What I was initially gonna say, Mr Stevie Wonder was that you couldn't possibly have been at the game last night - because after a nightmare on Saturday Humph pulled his socks up and gave it some last night. But then again half the pish we've read on here post the game - you probably were at the game,

If after that improvement, when it was demanded by fans and manager alike, you think that it's a good thing to banish someone to the bench then fair enough.

I agree that McCall needs to be freshening things up far more than he does and there were folk who played last night who would benefit from a seat on the bench.

Humphrey on last nights showing is by no means one of them!

It's your wee cock that was in my ear - that's how I never noticed it was there!

I was at the game last night and it was his best performance of the season, but still pish! We have signed Omar Daley who by all accounts is faster than CH and has more experience than him. Humphrey was diabolical on Saturday, but he was always going to start last night. WHY? Because McCall hasn`t the bottle to change the team

He has had 10 games this year so far, scored 1 and not a lot of assists. So this is from someone who has meant to have the ability to change a game.

And it wisnae my wee cock in your ears, that was my balls hitting your ears whilst you were sucking my wee cock.pleasantry.gif

  10. Can you speak up mate. Canny hear you - your mouth's full of shite

Maybe take the cock out your ears, then you might be able to hear.

Ps. I forgot it`s only your opinion that counts on here, tosser!

  11. I think it would be harsh to blame McCall for last night. We were winning, having come back from 0-1 down, with only minutes remaining.

But I think you can realistically look at the tactics and say 'we could be making things easier for ourselves'.

Back when we lost to Rangers I said that we were far too open in midfield and they were exposing the defence badly meaning we conceded more goals than we should have. At the time I thought it was only going to be a problem against the Old Firm with their higher quality players. It's obvious from the last two matches it's now a problem against any team in the SPL.

Some of our defenders have made bad personal mistakes that they shouldn't have but you also have to except that we have a pretty ramshackle defensive line up at the moment. You have Craigan on the left side, which isn't his strongest position, and Clancy, who you can tell by watching him doesn't know the position. You have to help them out a bit, you have to protect them. Teams are running straight down the middle of us and to me that's not good enough, even the worst sides with a little organisation can force teams to go wide to get any joy.

In midfield Lasley hasn't been in good form, although he came good last night, Jennings, the major problem in the side right now, has been stinking all season, he is just not doing his job game after game after game. Humphrey does not track back, but we all knew that before. Murphy on the other side is being played out of position and isn't as effective but probably has to play there while Hutchinson is out. Law, also, is defensively weak. We need to beef up the midfield to protect the back line and McCall hasn't done this and has remained far too loyal to one or two players in particular.

I also think his reluctance to bring players off the bench while is a negative and will be a bigger one in the long run. Firstly, if things clearly aren't working like on Saturday there is nothing to lose bring players off the bench. You might get lucky, but if you just leave it and nothing happens you open yourself up to criticism. Secondly, over the season our 'first team' players in a small squad are going to have to play more football, meaning more fatigue over the season, more chance of injury (both are linked surely?), more chance of cards etc. Thirdly, there will almost certainly come a time, probably during mid winter, when we have to play guys like Page, Lawless, Forbes etc, because there will no one else due to injuries and suspensions. When that time comes, it looks like they will be thrust into the team at a very important stage of the season, in bad weather and pitches with hardly any game time. Forbes has some experience now, but the others have very little experience in the first team and as they say 'make hay when the sun shines'. If you are 3-0 up against Dunfermline, put some of the kids on. If you are gubbing Inverness, put some of the kids on. There is a time and place to do it but so far McCall hasn't done it when he had the chance and I really think he has to re-think that part of his decision making.

Totally agree with this ^. Give the boys a chance now!

  12. After watching another disappointing performance from a depleted starting 11,is it time for a few changes to the starting 11. McCall stated at the beginning of the season that he would give the boys a chance instead of going out and getting loan signings from England. Well it`s time he trusted some of his boys now! The reserves have not been beaten this year yet, but with McCalls lack of playing subs, none of these guys are getting playing time.

The starting 11 seem to have an attitude that if they do not perform it`s ok, cos they will still be in the starting 11 the next game. (this is starting to do my head in). We started the Clyde game with 6 bench players (Lee Hollis, Jon Page, Jordan Halsman, Bob McHugh, Ross Forbes and Steven Lawless) with Carswell & Smith coming on later and before anyone states that it was only Clyde, i know it was, but all the above have experience out on loan or with their previous club.

We need to give these lads a chance and start playing them. This should make the 1st team squad a lot more competitive and give some so-called 1st team starters a kick up the arse they need.

In my opinion some of these guys are better footballers than we have starting and would also give a lot more to the team than some who are constant starts.

Come on McCall Saturday is the day to start trusting your boys!!!!!

  13. I think we will see a few changes tonight. Hollis for Randolph, Paige for Craigan, Lawless for Humphrey, and McHugh for Murphy. If we cannot beat a 3rd division side with 3 or 4 changes then i think we are wasting our time with our youth players. Rangers started the game with 3 20yr old who our guys have played against for years and they ended the game with 5 youth players. I my opinion Rangers played their best game of the season so far on Sunday and also Man Utd started Monday night with their 2nd youngest team ever to play in the premiership.

Now i`m not saying we should compare ourselves to Man Utd, but the youth teams at Celtic & Rangers have not be any better than ours over the last few years and they are now breaking into the 1st team, so why not throw in our youth and see what they can do. I also feel that there are a few players in our 1st team who have become complacent cos they know that it doesn`t matter if they have a bad game or 2, they will still be in the starting 11 next week. So hopefully if we do start with some of the boys, they all do well and start pushing our so-called experienced pro`s to up their game. Win - win situation for the Well if they do.

  14. Just back from that sh*thole StMidden Park and thought i`d share my wee day trip to Paisley.

On the journey there the sky was very black and it started to rain, so i put my lights on(small beam). Got to the park no problem, parked up and went and got my tickets. At half time i had a sudden thought....Never turned off the lights on the car. So off i go and find the security supervisor, and ask him when the gates would be opened to let people out. He replied 15min before the end, but what was the problem. I explained about the lights and i needed out, but would wait till 15min before the end, so that i could get back in. He told me he would let me back out and back in just now. (4 coppers witnessed this) So outside i run to the car, which is parked across the rd from the official car park(security guard about 40feet from my car, at gate), turn off my lights and proceed to light a fag, i take 3 draws of the fag and throw it away. On arriving at the gate to get in there are now 3 security guards , the 1st jobsworth that let me out, another supervisor jobsworth and another. Once up to them i was asked what i had in my mouth whilst entering the car park by the 2nd jobsworth supertosser. I asked him what he meant and he replied " a fag" and your NO getting back in, after 10 min arguing with them, but to no avail. So off i go to the guard at the car park gate and ask him if he seen me going to my car, he replied, "yes, you turned your lights off",So off i go to the main office and start arguing again, this time with a woman jobsworth, who would not let me speak to a copper. She basically told me that i was lying as no one puts their lights on during the day, but i told her that i had a security guard as a witness and funny how another car in the car park had left their lights on. She told me she wasn`t interested in the guard and she had just put out an announcement over the tannoy about the car.(thick paisley cow). So off i troops to the car to wait and low and behold about 20 mins later out comes the 3rd guard that was at the gate. He stands at the gate and lights up a fag. On seeing this i take out my phone camera and proceed to take a photo of guard. He waits a couple of seconds and shouts over " did you take a photo of me" on hearing this i got out the car and stormed over to him and informed him that i had taken a photo and what the f*ck was he and his jobsworth friends going to do about it. This twat then finished his fag and then proceeded to walk back into the game. So it`s ok for them, but not the paying customer.

I`m fecking fuming, the only good thing to come out of all this is WE HUMPED YOU, YOU PAISLEY JOBSWORTH F*CKS

Sorry about the rant. Rant over !!!

  15. any idea when the reserves or 19's are playing again. Work is deid at the moment and might be able to pop along

I usually find out 24hrs in advance about the reserve games, so will post here next time.

  16. Anymore you can add wee g ,who were the top performers scored the goals how did the trialists play perhaps.

Hollis, McKinnon, Halsman, Carswell, Pollock, Lawless, Smith & McHugh plus 3 french trialists. he 1st half was an evenly matched game with celtic just edging it, the 2nd half was totally motherwell. Our midfield was too strong with Pollock , Carswell & Lawless having a very strong 2nd half, McHugh & Smith gave their defence a torrid time as well.

Wondered if it was the Under 19s, cheers for that. Still, impressive couple of games they've put together now, and this French striker now has four in two games.

The french guy who scored 2 goals yesterday was a forward, but the other guy who scored 2 against falkirk was a right midfielder.
