steelboy 1,275 Report post Posted December 27, 2014 Has to be a defender. McManus for me, today was what he should be delivering every week.
that hat 41 Report post Posted December 27, 2014 Have to say Keith because we nominated him as the sponsor's man of the match today
Ya Bezzer! 1,797 Report post Posted December 27, 2014 A few candidates. Ainsworth was good on the ball but we didn't get it to him enough in the second half. Hammell came back and did well. I thought O'Brien had a pretty good match and made some important challenges. However I'd give it to Lasley. Excellent first half, back to his best, second half mucked in with everyone else. fat_tony 290 Report post Posted December 27, 2014 Has to be a defender. McManus for me, today was what he should be delivering every week. This. I've been disappointed with him at times but today, McManus put in a stalwart performance. Also thought Hammell and Lasley put in very good performances too. That's the type of leadership those three should be displaying each week.
ONeils40yarder 884 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Hammell.....we've missed him all season. Today he offered us the balance at the back, better distribution than we've been used to on the left hand side and a wee bit of composure. O'Brien and McManus were good too, as was Lasley considering he was virtually our only midfielder.
stuwell 210 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Went for Ainsworth, one of his best performances in the 1st half and helped out in the second.
Big Stall 445 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Ojamaa, everything we did went through him. He worked his socks off an was all over the park.
joewarkfanclub 876 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Ainsworth. Purely on his first half performance and his brief flurry at the end. McManus would be my next choice as he was the pick of the defenders 2nd half.
Yabba's Turd 767 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Is trying a header back to your keeper and it going out for a corner MOTM material? Defensively in the 1st have we had a fair few ropey moments that could have cost us.
Tweed 216 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Is trying a header back to your keeper and it going out for a corner MOTM material? Defensively in the 1st have we had a fair few ropey moments that could have cost us. To be fair, that was a quick ball that he had to deal with and it was better he over angled it for the corner rather than the net. Thought he and O'Brien were superb yesterday but everything we did that was positive came through Ainsworth so on balance, I'd give it to him. However it was a game where picking a MOTM was not easy because most players did their jobs very well wit very few doing much above that.
Yassin 758 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 It looked to me like McManus was going to header it to Twardzik but realised that wasn't an option half way through. Don't think it was a mistake.
foghorn 18 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Lasley for me with a real Captains performance. Big performance from the comeback man Hammell.
