  1. good game half decent atmosphere but i think mothewell missed counting the cash at the turnstyle fans.:O

best part of the day was when around 100 leeds fans arrived in glasgow via the west coast line and the old bill wanted to escort us to falkirk thinking we were preston fans.

cheers for a great day and good luck for the season.

  2. That's for the train, is it not?

    correct.

but leeds home tickets this season will be over £30 when announced. as season tickets in the side stands are £750

bloody hell we have to pay £40 for an away card membership just so you have the chance in the away ticket lottery

  3. Gutted to be missing the opportunity to watch my 2 fav teams.

Motherwell is very accessible by train from Yorkshire so 3-4K travelling fans wouldn't surprise me. Look how many they took to Exeter.

you will be very suprised how many leeds fans from lancashire and cumbria are making the journey by train..

very cheap indeed with tickets less than £28 from lancaster.

leeds had around 6700 at coventry with hundreds also in the coventry end.

and over 5,000 at crystal palace which is the most difficult ground in england to get to.

  4. i spoke to motherwell ticket office and they tell me they will be selling tickets for both sets of fans on the day of the game, but advised to buy them in advance to avoid queues.

i exspect leeds to have somewhere in the region of 3 to 4 k fans in attendance and im told they have sold around 1500 for the night game at falkirk. so my estimate wont be far out.

  5. Absolutely no idea! Maybe they're expecting trouble, or one of the ugly sisters are playing the same day over in Sheffield.

its because up to 4,000 dutch fans were planning to make the ferry crossing from rotterdam to hull for their games with you and hull city.

not forgetting sheff weds v leeds at 1pm on the same day.

  6. i rang motherwell fc today and bought tickets for the leeds end. also know quite a few whi have purchased on line.

id like to say well done to your football club for doing this as a lot of leeds fans refuse to pay £40 for a membership just to go into a lotterry for away tickets.

we also save £1-50 bates tax. looking at the sales on line looks like the leeds end is almost sold out. :O

  7. After reading the official sites ticket information on the Leeds game, it would appear it's all ticket? Surely not?!?!

if you read it properly it basicly says motherwell and leds fans can buy tickets in advance from their clubs to beat the queues.

but pay on the gate on the day if not.

  8. I don't know what some people are expecting. .....Arsenal? Man City? They have got better and more financially beneficial offers than little old Motherwell. Fact is Leeds Utd are a big side in English football and a lot bigger than some EPL sides such as Norwich, Wigan, Fulham et al.

A few people dissing the game and that is their opinion. Mine and a lot of others is that this will be the 1st opportunity to see Motherwell FC and their new signings before the new campaign kick in. Assuming the pricing is reasonable then I would hope for a decent turn out form both sets of fans...

I am looking forward to the game and a few beers :drinks:

£10 is a very reasonable price.

and btw leeds united are a massive club and you cant get away from it.

those fans will turn up in massive numbers wherever we are playing.

in fact leeds took more fans away from home in total than any other english club last season .

  9. I would imagine this would have been at the request of the local plod so they have an idea of how many travelling fans to expect and organise their resources accordingly

maybe so, but i think motherwell will have pay on the day and surely ticketless leeds fans will be able to pay in the south stand or i and around 50 others from the north west and probably hundreds more will end up in the motherwell end.

  10. if i was motherwell i would make an announcement that leeds fans can pay on the day no meberships req.

leeds have announced that we have to buy tickets one per member.

this will seriously affect the numbers that travel and cost your club thousands.

  11. Thats pish talk.

Millions of football fans have 2 teams they follow from different leagues, n am no different. Aye, supporting Motherwell is in the blood and always will be, but then looking out for your 2nd team, the rumours that go with them, there up coming fixtures, there matchday experience is a totally different ball game to up here!

And, if your really lucky, you could get to follow your fav player twice  (Hasn`t happened yet like, Brian Kerr or Richard Offiong didn`t really fall in to that category!)

But back on topic, as friendlies go, its a decent one to look forward too. Good that Leeds are bringing up a healthy support.

id hardly say healthy, the majority are fat drunks in the 40s and 50s.

  12. I doubt it even if prices are reduced. When we played Everton a few years ago there was under 6000 and about half of them were away fans, would expect something similar for this game.

leeds united are a far bigger club and bigger draw than everton, and they will certainly have more travelling fans.

  13. I would imagine if you did manage to fill the South, we could accommodate any extras in the Phil O'Donnell stand. Or just put on your best Motherwell accent and join the home fans in the East :P Doubt anyone 'Well fans would have a problem with that,

well fans are all secret leeds fans anyway.

pity i cant say the same for falkirk fans, they might be out for revenge after our last visit. :whistling:

  14. 4500 is the official capacity if the South Stand.

    cheers fella.

would be very suprised if we filled it for a friendly, but we sold out almost every away allocation last season inc. over 6k at coventry over 5k at crystal palace over 7k at barnsley over 4k at portsmouth and over 5k at preston (night match).

all our away games are members only and memberships cost £40 if you dont have a season ticket.

so with good advertising of pay on the day you never know.

    regards.
