  1.

He didn't change a settled defence because he wanted to, he changed it because he had to make changes. He tried something, it didn't work, move on. We have very, very few options outside our strongest XI and he was damned if he didn't, and damned if he did, going to maybe the hardest ground in the country to get a result. Do you think we'd be sitting here with 3 points if Louis Laing had played in midfield or if Jack Leitch had replaced Grimshaw. I'm going to speculate we would still have got a drubbing, making those simple mistakes, showing that attitude and playing against a good team in what is to all extends and purposes a fortress for them.

As for 100% blame, its never anyone to blame 100%. We put out eleven players today who we are all paying for and they got absolutely steamrollered. The players need to put up their hands over this as well.

Hardly McGhee's fault we gave away two penalties, couldn't win headers in the box etc.

Just please do me a favour and think back a couple of months.

    Bang on!

  2. 6-0 is definitely a hammering although I don't see the point in worrying about of that is the worst or most embarrassing defeat of the season so far for any team. Personally, I did not think for a minute that we would be victorious come five o'clock with two key CMs missing knowing what hearts are like and the style of football they play so I'm not that bothered. Although now, this result may highlight the lack of depth in midfield and maybe we can bring someone in because as mentioned by someone else earlier, MMcG doesn't think much of Cadden or Leitch (yet).

In saying all that, I am in Holland and was only going off the Twitter feed. Maybe because of this I am slightly disconnected from the 'humiliation'

  3. So we're writing off Jack Leitch after only 12 starts for the club, spread over a few seasons..?

I suspect we don't have a great track record of rearing our own because if they're not world beaters right away then they're not good enough in the eyes of a lot of our fans. Not an ideal environment for nurturing young players...

For the first part I would say yes, Jack has done absolutely nothing to make me think he is worth any more money then Stuart Carswell who, if i remember right moved for bugger all. Jack seems to be a smaller, more immature version of Keith Lasley, he has no physic, no ambition to create or have a shot on target and can't really tackle (let's face it, would you put your money on him breaking up an attack?).

I wouldn't say that they have to be "world beaters" just simply have a basic understanding of the game and a good level of fitness/ability. Two things I would say jack does not seem to have compared to a Liam Grimshaw (who has sealed himself a quality move to Preston). Does Chris Cadden have those attributes, I doubt it but let's see...maybe the manager can bring I. Some other starlet. That's all part of the fun of being a Motherwell fan.

  6. Personally speaking I thought Grimshaw showed immense maturity for his age, in fact, I thought he was definitely future captain material and to hold on to him permanently would have been, in football manager terms, "a coop " for the club.

Hugly disappointed that his parent club have acted in such a a manor (and well within their right) to sell him on for a fee. I tell you what, best of luck Grimmy, you were probably too good for us anyway.

  7. Like Jacol, I saw them play Aberdeen and they looked pretty crap. didn't see the full game to be fair but they looked like a team who, overall lacked creativity with a long ball in behind to a striker who was constantly offside.

I think we will do it today. I'll say a Moult double and a McManus balls up in the last ten mins just to keep it interesting. 2-1 to the good guys,
