  1. Is grimshaw at right back? According to BBC stats, we've been heavily under the kosh since the goal. What's it really been like?
  2. I don't know so much about footballers being tender little flowers, but could you imagine what it'd be like in your workplace where the company isn't achieving what it needs to achieve, the gaffer gets sacked and the CEOs golden boy, irrespective of experience or even qualification is stepped up to be your interim gaffer ..... And then starts running around telling everyone that you and your colleagues are a disgrace to their job and that if he had his way, he'd sack the lot of you???? You would just think prrrrrrrrrick and want to do even less!!!!!! I pay no notice to press conferences because the real business is done well out of our site and knowledge.
  3. Isn't it amazing how some people interpret the same information dependent upon their own viewpoint????? For example the Craigan press conference. Some folk already touting big Crags as the man for the job and using the blokes obvious comfort in front of a camera as justification of his managerial abilities. Then on the other hand, some already claiming the guys a fud and should not be allowed near the place cos big Crags disnae know the difference between margins and a mile oot!!!! In all honesty, what the fuck did anyone expect the bloke to say? He was about to take over the running of a football team that was obviously low in confidence, seemingly lacking in motivation, seemingly absent of team cohesion and only one cuffing away from a total collapse. He's never going to go on record as saying "they're all a bunch of pricks and I'm gonny be a wrecking ball" cos that would be just bloody stupid. So maybe for balance, listen again to what he said regarding the number of players playing to their potential on a match day and the numbers who aren't. The players will know who exactly who he's talking about and it'll be his job to get them to respond. Why don't we just do as he himself suggested and let him show his capability for the job on Saturday.
  4. On the face of it, Simo would be an attractive proposition, he has an excellent record for such a young manager. What we don't know is, how much did he have to spend? What was the quality of the squad he inherited and what is the quality of the opposition? I used to have an awesome managerial record for my Sunday league team but I'd be pish Motherwell manager. I love all this patter about Henry and what he'd bring to the club with all of his 'contacts'.....it's very reminiscent of when I tried to convince the pregnant wife that the Subaru Impreza sti that I always wanted would've been the perfect family car.
  5. As much as the glamour appeal of getting a fallen star et al Malky McKay, Nigel Clough or (you're too young to remember if you're seriously considering this bloke) Billy Davies, is really strong, does it actually fit with the long term strategy highlighted by Les H? Whoever is the new appointment, I expect they will be expected to accept that the back room staff in place will be the back room staff that they inherit. That may well be a deterrent to some otherwise credible candidates. As much as Ian Baraclough couldn't pick his own nose, he's assembled the makings of a squad that should in the very least, stear us away from the armageddon scenario of last season. I believe that the new manager will have some reasonably decent talent to choose from and (if he gets them playing to within 80% of their potential) will have no immediate pressure to rush out and buy in the January window.
