  1. Montgomery getting injured is exactly why we can't rely on clearing out 6 to sign KVV - we need to sign 2 strikers so we have cover. The way this season is going we would sign KVV and he would do his knee in training. As much as I 'd like the big man back, we need depth.

  2. One must ask if we are struggling to bring a striker in, why did we let Wilkinson go in pursue of first team football? He would play every week between now and end of season if we fail to bring someone in this window. Granted he was rotten but better than nothing!

Why would the manager appoint the head of recruitment? That should be the board/ceo's job with some input from the manager at best.

That's what I meant when I said oversight from the board - I'd expect them to draw up a list and then SK and the board pick who is best.

Is the point of a head of recruitment not to offer continuity in that area regardless of who the manager is? As such, do we really want the manager being the one responsible for hiring the HoR?

We are getting continuity from Daws - a continuity of 💩

Clean slate required in the summer given he's out of contract, SK to stay on for a year and bring in who he wants (with the oversight of the board) as HOR

Another failure from Kettlewell and Daws. And another January window trying to rectify atrocious recruitment from the previous summer. We can’t keep going through this cycle every single year.

Once Daws gets binned that will be rectified hopefully - all for giving Kettlewell another year (much to varied opinion of course) but he should get the chance to bring his own man in the summer! Heard Daws is on too much money to release and Alexander has obviously realised he's hopeless otherwise he would have followed him to MK Dons or Bradford.

The only things I'm interested in are when a player has definitely left the club and when a player has definitely signed for the club. And that has been pretty clear so far.

Contract negotiations, offers, rumours, targets etc. are pretty much meaningless gossip until there is a signed contract to back them up.

Has it though? We have heard nothing on Goss, Johnston, Mandron and Casey?

That's true but an update here and there would be good, especially if they're trying to tempt people to but season tickets

I don't usually criticise board or management because it's generally a no win situation but if what is reported above is true, we should be updated and advised other arrangements are being made.

I absolutely stand by that and am of the same ilk however the silence from the club on this is deafening, We should have been told about staff exits and player exits, the retained list was very minimalistic and didn't really go into detail.

  8. Anybody else slightly concerned that we have embarked on a trip to Netherlands with barely any new signings other than Obika and Paton who were part of last season's squad, a raking of players deemed not good enough last season (McGuire, Shields) and half a management team.

I heard this week that both Tom Jones and Callum Davidson our Sports Science team have moved on so who's in charge of the conditioning and nutrition side of things whilst away? And Richard Foster who's meant to be the U18's coach is with the squad?

We have yet to appoint a CEO, We are at least 4/5 bodies light on coaching team and at least 6/7 quality bodies short on playing side of things yet away to Netherlands with a squad that may/will be replaced shortly should better players become available, would it not have been better to wait a couple of weeks?

    Concerning times......

As soon as we gave this gig to a former senior squad manager, again, I knew they would be off at the first sniff of another better gig, which is fair enough. The Club must think more carefully about who we appoint to this type of role in the future. Securing a young former senior squad manager to look after the boys may be a coup and look good on paper, but it will always end like this and very quickly, as we've now seen at least twice.

Rumour has it we are in for Scott Arfield ?

Player / Coach deal lined up, makes sense from point of view SK still without a coach in the dugout and has said we are a couple down on a couple of occasions.

Would bring a bit of quality to the midfield as well let's face it, badly lacking in quality.

Unsure what the deal is with Morris but I Crankshaw I believe was sent back to his parent club weeks ago.

Did find his answer very good given he probably wasn't expecting to be asked about Morris - an absolute waste of a jersey and wage that's for sure, need to try and offload him ASAP.

Interesting to hear Danzaki and Efford both struggling, was hoping to see both make an impact in the last few matches of season, would like us to sign Efford again but not sure that will happen and both need a good pre season!
