  1. Minority of what? 46% of people thought he was our best player yesterday, there is no link to them also thinking he should remain on the park regardless of his physical condition.

Pish. Going on that assumption then leaving Craigan on the bench would have resulted in a 1-0 win. Well were able to score and win games before Humphrey found his purple patch.

I am really not sure what you want from this lad, if he plays well you look at his negatives, its really unbelievable, you were prob jumping just as high as all the rest of us when he crossed for the winner..... If you had your way he would of already been in the bloody shower. Give the lad a break, if i needed to put money on anyone finding fault with his performance i would of secured my money by now. Ladywelltoi sometimes your wrong, but agreed he looked fatigued but no more than anyone else did.

Four or Five man Of the match performances, and still he cant cross, cant shoot, cant last more than 60mins, cant tackle, cant head, cant pass, has no technique. Come on LADYWELL. Have a look at the clues. Oh and by the way he Cant be Scottish either, so that rules out any chance of him ever playing for Scotland, but i tell you what when he does you will be the first person i call! But of course he is not good enough for Scotland is he..........

  2. humphrey covers a massive amount of ground over the course of a game, sprinting that fast is going to take it out you. i think he also has a problem with leg cramps as he walks with a limp quite a lot and i've him cutting about in compression tights quite a few times.

Well Done Steelboy... i think your right mate, he has suffered in the past from cramps, we never used him enough in the first half, the second half he must of put in at least 5 lung busting runs.

He worked hard, and got his reward, 3 points for the team.

  3. Humphrey will always looked goosed after 60 minutes, he runs three times faster than everyone else, if you had taken him off after 60 minutes you would of ended up a one one draw. He always shows signs of fatigue, like most others. Even after eighty minutes flat out he will still beat every left back in this league for pace. Let Mr Brown decide when he is knackered, 46% of the votes would suggest your in the minority.

The whole front line worked well, GOW was good, Blackman, was good, Murphy was good, Hateley was good, Jennings was good, Even Lasley before his injury. The team we had Sat was the best we have sent out in weeks, give all the lads credit they gave 100% and if they never showed signs of fatigue thats when you have problems.

On a development point we still lack in our ability to distribute from the back four, leave the defence splitting passes to the midfield Craggs! Craggs is a leader and he commands his back four, not a passer or a creater. Well done Humphrey on man of the match, and do you know what mate, even with sleep deprevation with your new born, you done us all proud on Saturday and me for one will forgive you on looking TIRED.

  4. Humphrey today, funnily enough, great second half. for some reason play stayed on the left in the first half and without the ball he cant create. Second half he got the ball and we got the goal'''' Well done Motherwell. Great 3 points.

  5. I am looking forward to Sat match, i feel we are more than capable of winning both matches, although last week was an eye opener, we more than matched them for long periods in the first half, if we can carry that forward to Dundee Utd, there is a good chance of 3 points and a trip to the next round in the Cup, the defence would of learnt some valuable lessons from last week on the training field, still feel the lads will be full of confidence. Prediction would be 3 - 1 The well.

Must back Murphy, Hateley, Humphrey for the goals.

    Think positive.

  6. Finlay, i understand what your saying but, like i said based on the NOW, he cant do any worse than what we have out there, he is worth the chance, you put better players around him and he will shine. You put any of the Scotland players in front of Spain right now and the outcome is a forgone conclusion, with or without Humphrey. Get my point. Be honest Finlay are Scotland a (Credible International Team) ?

  7. Well I'd say because he ranges from very good to poor and has only been on a 'hot streak' with us for a HANDFUL of games. That does not warrant a call up to International level. IF he improves and keeps it up for the entire season then yes, give him a chance then.

Do you know what, if it was based on the season so far, he is worth a punt, not seen anything from the national team to suggest he would have to wait untill next season for a chance.

Is he ready for Scotland? yes he is again based on Scotland so far this season. We have nothing to lose on that front, if it dosent work ah well but if it does, the coin will follow at the end of his contract next season. No other wingers are performing so far this season, if nothing else a place on that shite bench we have. Scotland at present are predictable, defensive, and heartless.(My opinion) of course. And for the record i think he has set up Kilmarnock goal, two at Hearts, scored himself and i am sure he played a part in most of the goals we have scored, and maybe some we have conceded.

  8. Eggert JONSSON can we play you every week! Hearts captain booked in for rectal surgery! Having his arse ripped clean off him by the HUMPHREY meister :notworthy: B.A.H.B .

Great team performance, roll on next week and more importantly things can only get better.

    TOLD YOU SO !

  9. Well at last the vision and the potential i have seen in this lad has came to the surface. Outstanding performance and a wonder to watch. Well done Humphrey and congrats on baby Amelea.

    B.A.H.B (Be A Humphrey Believer)

  10. The problem with the lower league teams is they will kick the hell out of you for 90 minutes.

The second the lower league teams try to match the opposition with football they normally lose, if however they played there normal game they might of won.

Point of fact is that we are through to Thurs lunchtime draw.

Young page shone in an otherwise shoddy game, i reckon he is worth a start spot Sat surely.

Little unlucky for GOW that his run out came across Brechin, any teams further up the pyramid would of suited him more. Ah well there will be a few bruises on the training field today thats for sure.

  11. I'd go with;

    Randolph

    Hateley Craigan Saunders Reynolds

    Humphrey Forbes Jennings Gow

    Blackman Murphy

I think Gow should get close to or the full 90 minutes to help with his fitness and to see what he could offer the team in a competitive match. I think Sutton needs a 'rest' as he hasn't been playing too well recently. I'd also give Lasley a place on the bench but that is only to keep him fresh for Hearts at the weekend. I think we will prove too strong for Brechin over the 90 minutes. I hope so anyway as I have work at 7am the next day and don't fancy ET or the lottery of penalty kicks. 3-0 Motherwell and a place in the Quarter Final Draw.......whenever that is.

That looks a good team to be fare, although some might say use this as a trial game, i reckon lets go strong and win the match. I like the idea of Forbes and Gow, should open a few doors... Well done Finlay... fully agree with your selection.

  12. Humphrey needs better players around him, look at the number of players in England like him, super quick with some whilst not a consistant delivery. How many wingers do get an assist every week? What do people want out of Humphrey? If he hits the man it should be a goal everytime. His games simple, ge ball, beat man, hit byline, cross. He does this alot during a game, he'll have games when he's not making an impact and others where he does. He's far from being shite.

    Well done John......Here Here

  13. I think its a wee bit rich slating someone else about being a broken record TC when you yourself seem to struggle to make a post without feeling the need to emphasise Humphrey's positives.

I don't see much slagging of the youngsters to be fair and across various threads I've seen question marks raised about the performances of at least half a dozen of the team, no Humphrey isn't being singled out. Plentyof opinions contrary to yours certainly but they seem reasoned enough to me. Perhaps its you who needs to consider that others don't quite rate Humph as highly as you do.

My own view is that I hope when Gow is fully fit in a way it'll take a bit of pressure off him in that at times it seems to be the primary tactic to get the ball to him and hope that he can put in a telling cross. It's all the more noticeable and frustrating on days like yesterday its clearly not his day. If Gow can add some more creativity to the team then hopefully take some of the burden off him.

Well maybe your right, but GOW might be able to lift the weight off the shoulders of Humphrey, i agree with that point as Humphrey and Murphy are the only attacking options we have. But i strongly disagree with having lots of other options. Without Humphrey in the team we offer nothing going forward. My point was the fact that last week he was given man of the match, this week he is useless and wont be in the first team much longer. Its fickle at best. Thats my opinion and yes i do rate him, hopefully GOW can provide him with the support he needs. Its all about positives.

  14. The game was condensed today, unfortunately we never had the key to unlock it. This is as much as Aberdeen playing ten at the back more than anything else. We need to be more creative, maybe GOW will offer that option, Sutton needs to be rested in order to free up a position for GOW. As for man of the match, no stand out players, so as not to sit on the fence ill go with JENNINGS, steady performance nothing special. As stated before when either JENNINGS or LASLEY are touted as Man of the Matches, it normally means we were poor overall.

  15. As for Humphrey, sorry to sound like a broken record, but mince shot out a cannon is still mince, no matter how fast its traveling.

Yes you hit the nail on the head mate BROKEN RECORD. Leave the kid alone man, last week he man of the match, this weeks everyone is on his back. You pick the team next week Ya Bezzer, but what ever your line up is , if you want to win you need Humphrey in your team... end of.

Stick by the youngsters not slag them off individually, the whole team was weak. Not just Humphrey. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  16. Lets calm down, we got a point, poor performance but lets get off there backs... long season ahead.

Overall with Aberdeen having the whole team behind the ball, it was always going to be tough.

We struggle anyway with a killer ball playing against a free flowing team, but against an extra defender it was clear we dont have the quality to make that telling ball to unlock the defence.

Each player has there strengths and weaknesses and today we never used anyones strengths.

When Lasley is being touted as man of the match it normally means the team were poor overall.

Cant be to hard on the guys, just stick with them, Aberdeen done a job on us today, and because of the lack of space in the final third we resulted in the punt up the pitch which might work on a Sunday league forum but it just dosent cut it at this level. We have pace and a good in the box finnisher, we used neither of those avenues today hence only one point instead of three. Good luck Tues guys.

  17. Well here we are again, another eagerly awaited SPL clash.

Cant see there being any changes from last week, unless we have any injuries we dont know about. I believe that if the 3 points stay at Fir Park this will boost an already brimming confidence and will lay done the challenge for 3rd spot.

Last week some of the performances were fantastic , entertaining and professional.

I feel it in my bones Humphrey to score on his last saturday as a 22 year old, Blackman on the score sheet too, with Hateley pitching in for good measure.

    3-0 to the Well.

  18. Based on what I've just read in the poll thread by his biggest fan I suggest you may have to defend that statement going forward buddy.

I only have one vote, but impressed never the less with his game today, he was not a stand alone hero, but well worth my vote and im sure he will get a few more later. Good to see he is adding some trickery into his game, better luck next time. Overall the whole team done well enough to beat a below par opposition.

    Well done.
