As the club celebrates its 125th anniversary, just a wee tribute to some of the players and managers who helped build Motherwell FC. Starting with the first ever Motherwell team from 1886, there are pictures and a few film clips of legends such as John 'Sailor' Hunter, who managed the 'Well for 35 years, leading them to their only top division success in the 1931/32 season. Bobby Ferrier (over 600 appearances in 20 years), Willie McFadyen (who still holds the record for goals scored in a single season in Scotland's top flight) and George Stevenson (who spent 16 years as a player and 9 as manager at Fir Park) feature from the great side of the 1930's. Also included are the League Cup and Scottish Cup winning side of the early 1950's and their successors, the 'Ancell Babes'.

I had the same track suit and away top but I wore the claret shorts with that away top...... Admiral did have some cracking strips in the 70's.......

...and maybe the SPL will be able to sell TV deals for a world audience as the time slots would suit some TV stations.

Summer football will not work in Scotland....when the rest of Europe play in winter... Australia play summer football and it works for us...why? Because Europe play in the winter...Internationals are played in winter players are picked on fitness and form...you cant do that if your last club game was in the summer. Ach but you knew that. Have the start games in last week of July? have a break in December January? and finish in June? ..No I don't think so..

That's what we do here Eddie..Summer, and games on Friday night...you would have done that when you were in Sydney

Thought the fans were in good voice and the atmosphere was great at Fir Park tonight as was the Chapmans pies the commentary team had from what I heard on MFCTv ..and Tam Cowan dancing in the POD

Aye everybody was up for it ...except the Motherwell players...as they were coming off at HT some of the Well players were arguing with each other...trouble in the team?

I think a wee fire in the South stand caused the flood lights to fail and the Polis closed Fir Park for safety reasons

Born Baillieston, lived Cambuslang,then Niagra Falls (USA) then back to East Kilbride @school was fun I was the only Motherwell fan there. Went to Motherwell Tech when it was behind Fir Park. Moved to Blantyre back to EK then Brisbane Australia...and I have supported Motherwell through thick and thin since I was 5 in 1960
