Richard Tait coming in for some criticism but apart from the fact that he is playing on the wrong side of the pitch, he cannot be expected to make runs beyond a player he does not yet trust. His poor positional sense in recent games comes about because he is trying to second guess which way the ball will bounce as it bounces off of (Hylton/Seedorf/Cole).

This.  I didn’t think Tate was as terrible as some people have suggested.  Some of the flaws in his game in the first half were because he was covering the entire left side himself as Hylton was an empty shirt.  Hiding, not showing, not tracking back, not covering and pushed off the ball any time he did get on it.

  2. Looking for one ticket for Saturday! Not heard anything from the ballot. Season ticket holder for five years until this season. Was at Euro games, semi final etc... PM If you can help out! Thanks

  3. Aaaah the Motherwell rollercoaster, such a thrilling yet cruel experience! Once again we had enough chances to get a positive result, but didn't quite have the quality required. The effort was there, and perhaps on another night we'd have scored two or three, but it wasn't to be tonight.

I'm more annoyed about another cheap goal conceded though, coming at a time when we were causing problems for their defence. Mind you the heads never dropped and they fought right to the end. We need to be more clinical at both ends of the field though, or it could be a season of 'what if'.

The penalty miss was a real kick in the balls, given they were now down to nine men and on the ropes. The ref was culpable for me though, allowing a two minute wait before Murphy was able to take it. That always affects the taker negatively, whereas a quick turnaround may well have lead to an equaliser.

Gutted with the end result but not with the efforts of the lads. They gave it their all but just came up short. However, its true to say we may never have another opportunity to make an impression on Europe as we did this season, and in many ways we blew it.

    So typically Motherwell!!!

    Bring on the Shellic!

As always a very sensible and rational post from yourself, well said.

The only words I could mutter as I walked back to the car were pish, shite, utter and fuckin in various permutations.

  4. Seriously though, I think the fear of the unknown is perhaps elevating Odense to a status where they are considered to somehow be inherently better than us. We've had people saying they're not as good as the Old Firm, and about on a par with Hibs. We can beat Hibs, Hibs can beat us, but it's by no means a foregone conclusion or anything like the 30/70 kind of chances people are quoting on here.

Aye, exactly. People are shitting it just because we have heard of a couple of their players: carrol, djemba x2, helveg...

But tbh if you think about hibs they could say that they have an ex sunderland and arsenal striker who has moved in a million+ quid deal, (stokes), a guy who has ran the show in the champions league a few times for celtic and went on to man utd (miller) etc.

Reputations count for fuck all. If any of the guys at Odense were THAT good they'd no be there. This is no Nancy or Bucharest.

It won't be easy, but we have a chance. 60/40

  5. I can get a Barca friendly but not the Motherwell game. They have delayed highlights at the side and seen them smack the bar from about 22yrds...some strike

What site is that on mate?

  6. Nobody thought about doing a top gear and just driving the long way round via the channel tunnel, Denmark, the big bridge over to Sweden and then round from there.... Wonder how much that would cost in petrol? (I'm being half serious here btw! )

1,951 mi – about 1 day 11 hours (without stops!)

    Could be pricey....

  8. I remember moaning every week about the likes of Paul Harvey, John "fuckin" Davies and Callum Elliot.

But have to agree Andy Smith was fuckin atrocious, to think he was there at the same time as McCormack on loan from Preston.

We played St. Mirren twice in that season I think, once in CIS and once in Scottish. I know we got pumped in Scottish, but not sure which of the games Smith played. All I remember was saying he was the worst pro-player I'd ever seen.

  9. How many of you folk are going along next weekend to this?

I've been on the official site looking at getting tickets, and there aren't many sold.

Do you think there is a chance they will make it pay at the gate?

Was on Man Utd site and searched, but no mention of anything at all. Wondering if their fans know about this at all - and if they will bring many up with them?

  10. Aye-no point really! If we pretend they don't exist maybe they will fuck off. Or failing that we can just tear them apart at the Ark this season with our wonderful young team! "Mowbray's total football" - not a chance against forbes and co. :)

  11. Not much I can add to what has already been said. A very positive performance with plenty of of things to be happy about. I'm really enthusiastic about Gannon. I think we are going to have a few bumps along the way this season because we have a young team, although I think we are a great shout for the top six. I suppose we'll figure out really how strong we are when we play the other top six challengers like united, hearts etc. But against the dross like killie, st. mirren and falkirk I think we'll do well more often than not.

    Good times!

  12. From Motherwell itself I said, can't speak for the towns and villages round about but from here there is one bus for Rattlers and half a bus for the Vile h*n, that's something of a result compared to years gone by.

What the hell is that meant to mean?

Though have to say I agree with you. Most of my mates are old firm "supporters" but maybe get to one game a season if they are lucky.

  13. Glad you've got it sorted mate and glad to have u back in 2009/2010

What version of IE were you using?

    Cheers

    'Flow

    Version 6.029 mate.

I shouldn't really blame Microsoft for this one right enough, probably more to do with the some of more "interesting" browsing habbits
