No Bervie chipper in Montrose. It's 'Chips N Things'. New keeper looked promising. Also looked distinctly alarmed at certain chaps shouting to see his Percy.

It was all black with some white trim. Looked like maybe it had been run up specially for the occasion(?) Didn't think it was likely Puma gear.

So so, aye. I kept watching the two horses in the field behind the stand though, so I could be wrong.

Got home 10 minutes ago. Nice being local for a game for a change. Some promise shown tonight. Nice wee ground to visit.

the only way to get about there is coaches. They'll be waiting at the airport most likely. Another thing you do not want to miss on arrivals is the duty free - buy a crate of Viking or whatever it was called, save a packet.

Checked it out and there is a midday train from Central gets in just before 1, which'll do me fine.

Many people planning on this one? I'm all for it, think it will be a great afternoon. Early train down to Queen Street and then the midday train to Ayr. Couple of pints near Burns Statue Square then up to the ground. Dinner in the Wellington Cafe with any luck.

Nah. No thanks. Got a cultural exchange to Amsterdam at the end of the month and the Ayr friendly to concentrate on.

Short of a club charter or nicking a boat and sailing, can't see it. Expensive trip, very expensive place.
