  1. Went for Cadden. Johnson had some nice moments in the first half but weirdly he was better at left back than he was after Chalmers came on. In fact the second half he was pretty anonymous. This was my last match of the season so I can declare Scott McDonald my player of the season for 2015/16. 6 - Scott McDonald 5 - Louis Moult 4 - Kieran Kennedy 3 - Connor Ripley 1 - Morgaro Gomis 1 - Stephen Pearson 1 - Marvin Johnson 1 - Josh Law 1 - Lionel Ainsworth 1 - Stevie Hammell 1 - Chris Cadden
  2. But more if no fans had went on the pitch. Don't think we needed to bring in 300 stewards and 800 feet of fishing net to stop that happening.
  3. Though we started well but about half way through St. Johnstone came more into the game and took their chances to take the lead. After that our energy just seemed to drop off and to be fair St. Johnstone are a stuffy team to play against at times. The end of season lap of honour was a farce. I think there has to be a serious discussion about the level of measures taken today. True, our own fans have often let us down but the scenes at the end of the match were utterly embarrassing. What were the costs to the club today and how many season ticket renewals will it cost to pay for them?.
  4. BBC reporting we have made an official bid for Dunfermline's Faissal El Bakhtaoui.
  5. I don't rate Dow. I just think he's one of these guys who is a good footballer but doesn't have a position that he actually excels in. Where do you play him? Up front? Cos he doesn't score goals. Dixon will be 30 in November so he would only be a short term replacement for Hammell if that is what you are looking for. Ofere was decent with Inverness but hasn't done much with Dundee Utd and he will probably be on high-ish wages. If you look at his recent record Inverness was really the only club he did well at, excluding Caley he's got 1 goal for his last three clubs. Like Dixon he's the wrong side of 30.
  6. St. Johnstone recently went to Tynecastle and won 3-0 and then went to Rugby Park and lost 3-0. Kinda hard to predict what Saints team will turn up.
  7. If the workies did it for nothing and there were no other costs involved other than the actual seats.
  8. As I stated earlier Aberdeen have only lost once all season at Pittodrie so this was always going to be a very tough match. Add in having nothing really to play for and changes to the team and it's not really a big surprise, especially when we give away an early penalty. See Laing got subbed at half time. Was he injured or did he just get hooked? Got to say I don't rate the guy and he's miles behind Kennedy and Hall for me.
  9. Dylan Mackin got his third goal of the week this afternoon. And the Doomsdee Derby looks like it is on. That's all the positives for this afternoon.
  10. I think I'm right in saying we've had 3 penalties awarded for us. Big difference.
  11. He was never a regular and its unlikely he's going to displace Moult/McDonald and then there is Fletcher and if the rumours are anything to go by we are looking at other strikers to bring in. Players his age need to be playing football. I don't have anything against him being part of the squad next season, I'm thinking more of his own development.
  12. I've said it before but even if Motherwell offer Craig Moore another deal he should move on. Just had a great season with Ayr United and he'll find a team and a first team spot easily in the Championship. If he is good enough to play at the top level he will eventually gravitate back up to the top league. No point sitting on a bench while your career passes you by for another year. If you haven't broken into the first team by the age of 20, 21 I think you need to move on. Hall and Cadden have done it. Moore hasn't. Good luck to the lad but I think it would be a waste of talent if he was kicking his heels for another 10 months.
  13. Yeah that article is a joke. Dean Brill hasn't played a game this season so how the hell can he be in the Top 12! Danny Rodgers will almost certainly be ahead of Scott Brown next season at Aberdeen so why is he behind him in the list? Wes Foderingham is poor and probably won't be featuring next season for Rangers. Alan Mannus is 4th despite having a poor season and losing his place in the St. Johnstone team to young up and comer Zander Clark. Best keepers in the league this season where Jamie MacDonald, Tomas Cerny, Michael McGovern, Scott Fox and Scott Bain. First half of the season Danny Ward would have been in there but was recalled.
  14. Was surprised to see Ferguson and Mackin as I thought they were on loan at Airdrie. In fact Mackin scored for Airdrie at the weekend unless I imagined it! Anyway, great to see a young Motherwell team triumph, they deserved it in the end. Thought we started slow though and Hearts were the better team until their keeper made a rick of a corner and then we went 1-0 up. After that we found our stride and I always felt we could score as we were too hot for them in the wide areas. Of course Motherwell being Motherwell we made it hard for ourselves with two poor goals to give away, a free kick right before half time and then a bit of a defensive blunder. Overall I thought we looked much more potent going forward than Hearts did. Robbie Leitch's goal looked a beauty from where I was sitting, will look forward to seeing that on the highlights. Falconer finished his chance well too. Silverwear, maybe the big team will follow suit in the near future and it will be interesting to see how these young players get on as well.
  15. Will Sam Nicholson play? Doubt it if Souttar isn't. Liam Smith started on Saturday so I don't know if he will play again on Wednesday. Jordan McGhee will probably play, Dario Zanatta, who apparently is a decent player, as well. Gary Oliver is out on loan at Queen of the South (and scoring a few goals) so he won't be there.
  16. They had a young boy at centre half making his debut, Michael Rose. Think we will see Ash Taylor coming back in.
  17. What Dunfermline fans are these? Never heard anything but praise, not only from Dunfermline fans but from fans of his previous clubs. I've even heard some say he's been there best player since Stevie Crawford. Can play at right back as well. Two for one.
  18. Aberdeen have only lost once at home all season, and that's in league, domestic cups and three rounds of European ties - 1 defeat in 19 matches. St. Johnstone beat them back in October but they are the only team to win there in 2015/16. DIfficult to say what Aberdeen's psychology will be going into this game but on the face of it this is a tough tie.
  19. I'd play Hall before Laing. I like the look of Hall but if he moves on, he moves on, although maybe someone should tell him the story of Paul Slane.
  20. Must be a different one because it was Johnson tried to take on three men and lost it in the semi circle instead of playing a simple pass. I'm going deaf but I think my eyesight is still not bad! I thought Samson did very well today and was a big part of us getting a clean sheet. He was very calm, looked like an experienced player out there, kept the back four organised and with the exception of one cross did everything he had to do, including a pretty smart save and some tricky balls to feet. I think Ripley has been our best keeper since Randolph but Samson today looked like a guy that's been around the game and showed a calm authority that maybe Ripley has yet to learn. As for Lionel Ainsworth - he's just not been right this season. He looks 'down' somehow. Maybe it's a football matter but players also have all the same problems we do, so maybe it is a personal issue. On the other hand he might just be out of form. Whatever it is I was glad to see him score today and I hope he can get a few more before the end of the season.
  21. I hope Hall stays but I bet if you looked at Louis Laing's wage slip and Ben Hall's there would be a pretty big gulf there even though Hall has shown himself to be a much better player this season.
  22. Had to be someone from the back four today and I thought Hammell had a very good game.
