Bizarre with the sponsorship .........I was initially thinking if it was a Tv thing........I'm sure the game was on Tv when we beat Celtic 2-1 when Mclair scored twice .....ruling that out
I think at the time shirt sponsorship wasn't allowed for televised games - so any pictures from games covered for TV don't have the sponsors logo on the shirt

Brown still playing in the Highlands
I think the Sub Goalkeeper would have been Michael Brown - not Mark Brown.
Don't think he ever got on the pitch for us - but according to http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=17585 he played a few games for Queens Park this season

What was the score with Stelrad, I seem to remember them as a sponsor at one point, probably before Scottish Brewers.
If I remember correctly Stelrad sponsored the reserves around the same time as Scottish & Newcastle sponsored the first team

Hi
When I key in the information to sign up it tells me I have an error on page, yet nothing is wrong/missing.
Has anyone else had that problem?
I had a similar problem with a red box round my email address - it reckoned it was already in use. i used an alternative email and it worked fine.

The kit was claret and amber stripes. It's just that our original shade of amber was much darker than it is at the moment.
A colour picture of one of the original claret and amber strip can be seen at

You didn't mind at all - having a replica kit was a big thing - and back then I don't think I even realised the difference between a genuine admiral kit and a "knock off" one made locally - perhaps we were less sophisticated than today's children

I can confirm that the mascot is indeed wearing a "knock - off" version of the two stripe strip - the mascot is me! At the time it was the norm for the replica strips not to be made by the same manufacturer as the original.
At the time I wasn't a regular at games and I remember turning up feeling proud at being kitted out in the latest strip - and being a bit disappointed that the team wasn't wearing it any more.
I certainly wasn't expecting to see the picture appearing on a Motherwell message board after all this time.
