Law was the best player in the first half but he came off fairly early second half so you can't really give it him.

Lawless was good and became a big danger as the Clyde players tired in the second half.

However I'll give it to Ross Forbes. Some fans might not appreciate the job he does but I thought he was excellent, spraying the ball about and acting as the link between back and front. I was also impressed by how strong he was, he kept the ball while under some heavy treatment from Clyde players on more than a few occasions.

Going for Ross Forbes, thought he did everything very well tonight. I do think though, that he'd struggle to play like that against higher quality opposition. He was able to put in the performance he did because he had a bit of extra time that he wouldn't get against an SPL side. Man of the Match tonight I reckon, but would have to be a bit sharper and a bit more accurate against a better side...however you can only play who's in front of you so who's to say he wouldn't have.

A lot of good performers late night, but my vote went to Forbes who was terrific in midfield. Great range of passing, comfortable on the ball and always available to receive a pass.

A lot of decent performances last night, and it was good to have a good look at McHugh, Lawless and a couple of other lads for the full game.

The experienced guys did well and I also thought Forbes was enjoying his role in central midfield - there was one occassion in the 1st half when he had the ball in the left back back area, and he sent a sublime pass to Lawless who was making an attacking wide right run.

Forbes definitely has talent, and he does seem to have upped his strength and fitness - reckon it's time he pushed hard for a regular starting spot.

I'm amazed at people going for Forbes! Granted he wasn't as bad as he is against SPL teams but that's because he's a 2nd division player and was playing against a 3rd division team... anyway, Law for me was miles ahead of anyone on that park last night.

I kind of agree. Think he found his level!

tom hateley for me.

100th appearance, first goal from open play, first with his left peg and a shot of the captain's armband.

only taking two years and nine days since your debut to 100 appearances is impressive and he's been extremely reliable playing in every game since he signed. can anyone think of a motherwell player who hit 100 games quicker?

Yeah I couldn't argue with that at all, thought he had a great game...went for Forbes as he had a bit more riding on the game, wee bit more pressure to deal with but Hateley has fast become the kind of player everyone would want at their club I think. Committed, reliable, able to cover a couple of positions, and maybe more importantly you don't play 100 games in two and a bit seasons without being fighting fit and really looking after yourself. From being a signing that seemed a bit of a punt at the time, you have to say it was a grand bit of business by Gannon. His best probably?

My only criticism would be that for a guy that loves a free kick and has all the technique in the world, he needs to work the keeper more consistently.

likewise he needs to sharpen up his corner delivery if hes going to be the right hand corner specialist

but the rest of his game has been solid this season , he went missing briefly last year, but most certainly a first pick every week ( as the 100 games is testament to!)

Have a word mate, Forbes is improving all the time and the more confidence we have in him the more we will get out of him. Thought he had a great game but Nicky Law for MOM for me.
