Why Can't Some Of Our Fans See The Bigger Picture?

Why can't our fans be paitent? Ever! Historically we are a very hard bunch to please.

During Tommy McLean's time - after we won the cup - we booed and shouted for his head. The bigger picture has proven this booing to be stupid

We even booed the team during McGhee's 1st season. Why do we do this? It doesn't provide any positivity to the team and we as supporters should SUPPORT the team.

So come on lads, I too feel your pain. I too will be in a bad mood until at least Wednesday. I too have concerns about Gannon's tactical decisions. Where I differ is that I fail to see how booing has or will have a positive effect on the team.

Mon the Well !

Mon Jim Gannon !

POSITIVITY for the future.

You are barking up the wrong tree Netherton well fan. I agree with you, but we are a most unforgiving lot. We take the piss out of the Gers fans for deserting Ibrox - but at 3-1 down we still had 20 minutes left and there was a mass exodus. Way to support the team.........

Perhaps the fans have the team they deserve?????????? 4100 for a Boxing Day match - pathetic!

4100 for today was pathetic and maybe a sign of the times?

Weather may have been a good excuse for some as well but it's not a good turn out at all. Where do all the other fans go? Shopping today for two of my mates but no excuse in my book (fannies!) but then maybe they got a nice jummper today for £22 and I just got cold and watched crap.

Whos the mug?

Oh how the european games seem a distant memory now.....

Mon the Well

I'm sorry but I disagree. I'm not saying the boos were justified, and I've never booed myself, but I believe that if people want to boo on the back of 2 shite performances and 2 shite results, they're within their rights to do so. You say "what good does it do?", surely it gets the message across to the players & management that the fans see the effort & performance as unacceptable? What good does standing up in silence at the full time whistle and going home do?

What is the bigger picture though?

We are going backwards at the moment.

On the back of a 6-1 spanking, such a heartless performance deserved to be booed at full time.

The bigger picture is getting us to play a new style of football. That takes time ! It took Sir Alex 5 years and gannon is 6 months in to the job and people are shouting for his head. What is wrong with a bit of patience for a change ?

Defeats mean that fans are going to be unhappy.

Do you think if we played 1980's Wimbledon long ball stuff but we were winning most weeks, people would be complaining? Of course not.

Do we have the players to play this "style"? Look at John Hughes. With Falkirk, he got plaudits for his passing football, but still ended up in a relegation battle. But now with Hibs and a better standard of player, he's getting better results.

I think we just need to grind out a couple of wins. Put some fucking tackles in, a few bookings, take a 1-0 win. That'll do me.

Why the fuck aren't people allowed to boo?

I wasn't there today but from the opinions I've had in the game i'd've been booing like fuck!

"iooh I only cheer, I don't boo cod I'm a superfan."

Get tae fuck. We've been posh for a while. Unable to beat teams with less players and taking a spanking or two. It's not good enough.

BOOOOOOOOO FUCKIN BOOOOOOOO!

Fuck off.

They deserve to know they are shite

I agree but booing the team will guarantee no wins at all..

As I mentioned the other day, while I would love to see Gannon's philosophy in football come to fruition, this is unlikely to ever materialise as Gannon will either move elsewhere or we will get embroiled in a relegation battle.

Furthermore, given his post match comments tonight, how can he get everyone to believe in his style of play when he comes out and slates the players after the game? If he is interested in the long term, he should be protecting the players; not saying they are incapable of keeping a clean sheet against anyone.

See that comment! I agree with it 100% but i still beleive in him. I just think he is a bit naive but that is what life is about. When wee Tommy was our gaffer he made decisions that were equally as baffling. The fams booed we won the cup the fans booed agian and we finished third. I hope Gannon doesn't waiver from his philosophy due to the fans because through the years they have proven to be more clueless than Malpas and some of our fans deserve a First division team.

Of course it doesn't. Neither will cheering and singing for 90 mins.

If Gannon puts out a team with the instruction of playing in a style that the team is incapable of, then we'll get humped.

Every other SPL team has found out how we play, Gannon needs a new approach. And quickly!

I heard that in the taxi when i was going back to my bit and he sounded fucked off. We were actually not bad at the clean sheets till yaas got in the team.

What exactly is this bigger picture you speak of?

I cannot for the life of me work out why Gannon keeps messing around with the team and making these 'bold' changes week in week out.

Who did he hook at half time on the first day of the season? Yet he was the man to come in and shore up the defence today???

Makes no sense. I don't blame the people who left early. Probably had better things to do than watching a heartless Motherwell display in the freezing cold.
