Shame the trains are on strike as I like a wee away day in Edinburgh. However, after last night and given how shit the weather looks all weekend, I may still drive through for this one. Not something I would have said under Alexander.

The confidence should be high in the squad now after seeing some tangible results for all the hard work they have put in and we have yet to see McKinstry and Moult up to speed.  But when they and Tierney are your options from the bench, there is a lot to be happy about.

Hopefully we have a full squad to choose from and we can go give another good account of ourselves.

Keep wee Boyle quiet and we have a chance.

For anyone else considering driving though, can anyone recommend good spots to leave the car. Don't mind paying it it's local to Easter road with good access.

Posting a photo of Blair Spittal with just his squad number (7) is a nod to tonight's 7PM tweet announcement.

Will it be Snodgrass signing or will it be a mini documentary detailing the work that went into the summer pitch replacement?...

    TIMe WiLL TeLL...

Another cryptic post today of Callum Slattery. This time with just a magic wand. This is, of course, a nod to the magic number 3 and this afternoon's 3pm tweet announcement.

Will it be Snodgrass signing or will it be a mini documentary detailing the work that went into the summer pitch replacement?...

    Calling all SPFL anoraks.

Whats the prize money for 4th, 5th and 6th?

You would prob need to factor in around an extra £250k for finishing 4th (over 5th) as you'll get the European prize money for the earlier qualifying round.

So I'd reckon best part of 500k of a difference all things considered between 6th and 4th.

    4th Position  £1.81 million
    5th Position £1.68 million
    6th Position £1.56 million

Alan Campbell probably up against Chelsea tonight (unless Luton do that thing that Championship sides do where they rest players in the FA cup), a good showing here would be great for him.

Did Campbell go on a "deal" after his contract ran out or was it done through the tribunal method?

    Burrows said at the time:

"We have reached a compromise that is both fair in the short-term but also allows Motherwell the potential to share in future success, should Allan’s career continue in the same upward trajectory."

Some sort of sell on clause you'd imagine.

Interestingly, Luton Town have a policy of not announcing the length of contract for each of their new signings so unclear when his current deal runs out.

All said and done a great performance. The players were right up for it. No failures but I was impressed with Joe Efford. He reminds me of Henrik Ojamma.

His direct running and the quick change of direction gives off Ojamma vibes also. Looking forward to seeing more of the big chap.  Sportscene all but confirming his goal should has stood.

I remember all the hype from McLeish before his debut, I enjoyed his marauding runs but I don't think he actually knew where he wanted to go himself. That was typical of McLeish back then, he spent a pretty penny getting loads of trialists in from all over, I remember he wanted to sign a Nigerian goalie but couldn't due to a work permit issue. He also passed up signing Marvin Andrews and Stern John around 1997.

Did we not actually get a decent fee for Shivute heading to China?

He also knocked back signing a young Ole Gunnar Solskjær!

On the subject of fees, was there any chat about just how much we paid for Slattery and Kelly?

I read we signed Slattery on a 2 year, 10 month deal for a fee of £220k. It was a English Twitter account that posted the details.

If true, that 3 million pound interest free loan from the Scottish government is getting battered like a student who's just been approved an overdraft!
