I had Armstrong for Maths too, good teacher, I have a memory of him holding a pupil by his ankles with his head dangling in the bin, something else you wouldn't get away with now.

We must have been in the same class! (I wasn't that pupil, btw.)

He also used to stand on your toes, putting more and more of his weight on them until you... well, actually, I don't quite know what his aim was. It's not like pain suddenly made you better at maths.

If he treated the players anything like he treated kids, no surprise he was sacked.

Let's just say he wouldn't have got away with it these days!

Speaking of things you wouldn't get away with these days, did you ever have Mr Armstrong for maths?

However I can’t help feeling that for a few years now the club has fallen into an ever descending downward spiral.

Thing is, it's not just our club. I could live with that, having seen us play even worse at times over these many long years. And at least we haven't been relegated, unlike Hibs, Hearts, Dundee, Dundee Utd etc.

However, the whole league is now an increasingly bad joke - I mean, how can we be THIS bad this season, and still be above so many other teams? The general quality is in the toilet, "entertainment" is often non-existent (thank heavens for KVV last season) and the spiral is indeed ever-downwards, I just can't see any light at the end of this dismal tunnel.

Not often you are correct but yes, agree with you here. If shirt pulling is a penalty then thats fine & we play to that rule. The issue is that plenty shirt pulls dont get looked at.

MJC blabbers about seeth but half of that is due to using VAR when it would 'appear to suit' rather than on a blanket basis.

For what its worth, yes, the Rangers one today was a shirt pull & by the rules, a pen. How many shirt pulls in the box across all top division games in Scotland this weekend went unpunished?

    Just get VAR to fuck

Alternatively, just get Celtic & Rangers to fuck.

  5. I don't expect him to start, or even feature, but Butcher is back in contention for this game according to Kettlewell. He's also expecting Biereth to rejoin the squad next week with his recovery tracking to plan exactly as expected. If we can tighten up what's already a fairly decent defence, and reintroduce what looks like a genuine goal threat up front I'll sleep a lot easier.

So after Jim Goodwin saying before he took the United job that he decided not to apply for another job in the League at the time who’s team  didn’t have a manager (wonder who that team was ?) as he thought they were unsaveable  . Well there you go Jim .
Oh Jim looks like you’ve set yourself up there for a bit of stick . Schoolboy error Jim

TBH I kinda thought the same way at the time ……. But that doesn’t really matter as I’m not the United manager

Just putting it out there like .

I'd imagine they took about 4 seconds to deny it. The real question is why the ref only gave a yellow card to begin with.

Indeed. There was no actual intent there, granted, but he's still managed to get his boot up to a height that Bruce Lee could only dream of.

He averaged 8 Yellow Cards per season.  In the SPL this would be about 1 every 5 games.

Based on the actual games played in each season, he actually averaged more than 1 in 3.

good amount of games left for points, we just need to make sure we dont get cut adrift

Ah, the old "fifteen easy points there for the taking after the split" theory. Let's just hope we're not sixteen points adrift by then 😉

Hands off approach? Not at all. Like I said, both parties work together on a range of the issues you spoke of.

I don't doubt you for a second on this point, but it's also understandable if us old duffers - not being party to it - are unaware of it happening.

Also, I think it's entirely fair to comment on the match day experience on a match thread.

Ojala away, mutual consent according to club Twitter.

No surprise, but still a shame. He really looked the part in his first couple of games but then - for whatever reason - it all went to shit.

I hope things work out for him.
