Ironically, we need Derek McInnes' Killie to beat Derek McInnes' Hearts to finish 7th.

I've been involved online with MFC since early 96, the mailing list, then the yahoo group, chat room and here. It may have been down to who was online at the time but debates were sensible for the most part since it was mostly real names and probably the lack of teenage presence etc. Holy shit that's almost 30 years. I approached the club in May 96 about setting up a website, had a meeting with John Swineburn with grand ideas of what we have now, only to be told that the internet was a fad, that no one would want access to the club's history (Keith and Graham's book) instant news updates etc could be gotten on teletext, every idea or suggestion of use was shot down into flames.

Assigned another ref doing his first top tier game, seems to have had a mixed bag doing the other three leagues. Hopefully someone sends Armstrong into Row Z early doors.

Continuing to play Watt as a lone striker is absurd, even at this stage of the season, and especially in a dead-rubber... And that's not intended as a slight on the player. Glad that this will be the last time I watch this particular flavour of The Well, onwards to the next.

If you exclude Celtic, we've only lost 3 home league matches this season which isn't bad at all. A few draws in there but decent form over all. Kilmarnock are on a good run of form but their away form is exceptionally bad, 1 win and 9 defeats in their last 12. Should be looking for a home win but at this stage in the season you never know how switched on players are going to be.

Was good to see Baraclough on the Play-off coverage last night, and hear him, however briefly, reminisce about battering Rangers.

There's surely a benefit to not being relegated - not trying to be facetious here but if we went down for a club our size there's no guarantee that we would come straight back up. I also don't think we are regressing. It's fine margins. The league is tight and we've just missed out on a couple of occasions. Some people have said that the quality of players in previous years has been much better - but as someone pointed out the other day - even when we did have quality players -we ended up in a play off We are maybe stagnating. But I don't think we are regressing

In all honesty where do you see a club of our size in terms of fanbase and financial means progressing to as a club? The ugly sisters, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs and probably Dundee untd are all much bigger clubs than us by those terms, so finishing 6th or 7th may be our level. For me staying in the premiership by aiming for a top 6 finish and a possible shot at a Euro place, and a few decent cup runs would make for a decent season, anything above that is a bonus.

Now that a deal for McInnes to move to Hearts has been agreed - id put my money on it that Kettlewell will be the next Killie manager (not based on anything other than a hunch) but I'm sure he'll be all over that job if he can.
