  1. The argument of experimenting or “something a wee bit different” with kits is something I’ve never really got. It’s just my own view but why not keep the “wee bit different” to our training/leisurewear? That way the people who are going to buy the cheaper training/leisurewear (and there are plenty who do, myself included) have that top to wear for five-a-sides/going to the shops/lying on the couch scratching their baws or whatever. But at the same time keep the kit that the players representing the club on the park are wearing as a kit which is traditional and easily recognisable as a Motherwell FC kit?

  3. I am in this minority, while I think our band round the front , and sometimes back is iconic and part of tradition I don't think there is anything wrong with making it look a little bit different from time to time. Biggest thing for me is we always maintain the Claret and Amber One of my favourite kits in recent seasons was the 22-23 home kit , and I know at the time there was plenty of others who didn't like it

  4. Well saying it's the close season if folks are getting uptight about sponsor logo on the shirt...the clue is in the name, " replica shirt" , it's supposed to look like players top.

  5. At a time when we are looking for more ideas to generate income, intentionally removing a chunk of our revenue stream doesn't seem like good business. I'd also be curious to know how many fans in the shirt buying population want a sponsorless option because I'd imagine that, kids being kids, most of them want a kit that looks exactly like the one the players are wearing' sponsor and all. I'm not against it, but I'd need to see a breakdown of the financials before I was in favour of it. One thing is for sure, and that's you won't make the up the gap in revenue by upping their price.

  6. We are a fan owned club allegedly its maybe time that the WS got involved in a real topic of interest to the supporters and see what can be done re selling sponsor free replica kit.

  10. Celtic have been wearing hoops on their home shirts since as far back as 1904. While the shade of green might shift slightly from time to time, or there may be a faint pattern woven into the hoops, the core design remains instantly recognisable around the world. Newcastle have stuck with black and white stripes since 1894. The width of the stripes has varied, and the trim has seen changes over the years, but the overall look has stayed the same. Now compare that to us. Is the message here that our home kit doesn’t really have an identity of its own beyond the colour palette? From a branding perspective, the approach we take is baffling. We’ve got a distinctive colour combination, yet we’ve never settled on a consistent design to anchor it. There’s nothing wrong with tweaking the details (a different collar, a shift in trim, even the size or placement of a central band), but let’s not kid ourselves. Clubs like Celtic and Newcastle have a look that’s unmistakably theirs. We don’t.

  11. McCall was very good and I liked him a lot. But he had a lot more resource at his disposal than most Motherwell managers. Albeit, some have had similar resource and wasted it. We did have some very good times under his watch though.
