  1. I seem to be a lot more relaxed about JBA's departure than almost everyone else. Last season was thoroughly enjoyable and all credit to him for transforming us on the field. However when I looked at his CV last year, I noticed he had had 7 coaching/managerial jobs in 8 years; the longest lasting about 2 years and 4 months. On that basis, I never expected him to stay very long, and I doubt he'll stay long at Toulouse either, for whatever reason. Our board now has a proven long term system in place and I have faith in that.

  2. He can't sign them all, and managers and coaches often recommend players to each other.

  3. The SPFL growing a pair of balls and taking action re pitch invasions and assaults on players? Probably not. Lumping all four together will minimise the more serious incidents and enable the Authorities to class them all as celebratory rather than violent and intimidatory. "We had a look but nothing to see here." I expect Hamilton and Stenny to be fined and Celtic to be commended for the enthusiasm and good nature of their fans. I suspect the incidents attracting the interest of our politicians has spurred our masters to 'appear' to be taking matters seriously.

  4. Whatever happens there will be minimal if any serious repercussions for Celtic even though their supporters were 100% responsible for both incidents. You can guarantee that had any of our fans retaliated by also invading the park at the Celtic game then we would be being painted as the aggressors while Celtic’s fans were simply jubilant in celebration, the same as what happened with the Cup tie at Ibrox where Celtic fans invaded the park. Celtic have too many people in high places for anything major to befall their way in terms of suitable punishment.

  7. Oh dear. You do realise that they'll probably all be 'exclusively revealed' in the sun or the record as 'widely tipped' or 'bookies favourites' now, don't you ? Along with Scott Brown, Neil Lennon and Barry Ferguson 'ruling themselves out'....

  8. You did well. My A.I. gave me John McGlynn, Scott Brown and Russell Martin.

  9. Under most circumstances I agree about not wanting to sell our players to teams in the same league. If one of them came in with an offer of say, 4 million, for a player we picked up for free and who had given us an outstanding season, I'd be OK with that and chalk it up as a cracking bit of business.

  11. Its always better to be seeded and play a lower ranked team, its a cup comprtition so for me progression is the main objective, and not a one off glamour tie. Reaching the group stages for Motherwell would be brilliant, so anything that eases our path is welcome.

  12. For me there's a mind & heart conflict. Statistically JBA was only ever going to be here for a year but by god it would have been great for a 2nd season. I really fancied our chances of doing well in Europe and even better in the league. Tough act to follow and top managers at MFC are a rare bread. It's not just points, goals conceded, clean sheets, lowest games since 1959 or the expansive football. He brought an attitude of 'we can win every game' - I simply didn't want it to end but it has and time to move forward. Thankfully Kyrk has his head screwed on and I fully back him and the others to do well. Suspect we're 80% of the way there already. Can only hope we stabilise what we've created in 12 months.

  13. If he went then after 1 game would be valued at £25 million!! 🤣 I saw Cardiff linked so £2.5 million plus turnbull would be great piece of business

  14. Yup i am relaxed to and also relieved as I feared him going to Sellik. He has made us such an attractive proposition and there a few sellable assets we can cash in on (well done to board placing min £3 million on Watt). As said before I expect another unknown and no doubt club already been doing the groundwork. Also fact Fadinger happily signed extension when he must have known Jens was going makes me think players are fine. Jens could repay the favour by giving us £10,000,000 for Just! 😁

  15. Yeah have been pretty relaxed about it all it was always on the cards crap sure but it was always going to happen. This could possibly be the norm for us going forward but if whoever comes in steers to a fantastic season and leaves with making the club better then i am totally 100 percent down with this system.

  17. Seriously? Where the laughing emoji showing that you’re joking? “deconstructed and have to rebuild whole philosophy and set up” From the chairman’s statement today "It's no secret that we have got a strategy in place that we will continue to build upon our model, using the same principles, as we enter this new campaign. "Managers leaving a club can be a hard pill to swallow, and whilst we appreciate Jens for what he has done here in the last 11 months, we have been continually working on contingencies and learnings to ensure we do not rip up and start again but continue to build and grow. "There's lots to be excited about. "We have over 20 contracted first-team players, European football on the horizon and crowds are 40% up at Fir Park. "We will continue working hard behind the scenes and will update supporters in due course. This is the start of a journey, not the end."

  18. The best I'm taking is that we have had an amazing season, and the man that helped us to achieve that has left the club and a great position that the Board has a clear intention to build on.

  19. I'm utterly deflated too. I've learned not to get used to good times as well fan but getting tired of it now as even when we show slight improvement, we are deconstructed and have to rebuild whole philosophy and set up. Totally deflated. Will probably give site a miss for a while.

  20. Jens going does feel a bit inevitable but nevertheless disappointing. We’ve lost good players before but I don’t think, in my time, I’ve genuinely felt as empty as today. Yes we’ll move on and absolutely we’re in a better place than we were this time last season. At this moment though it just feels, to me at least, as if it could have been more. Best wishes to him and I hope the players don’t feel as deflated as I do at the moment.

  21. Bought one. Mwell FC is in my DNA so I will still go. Just fed up of constantly rebuilding when we look like remotely being successful.

  22. Think the best thing we can take today ladies and gentlemen is that our boss is not downgrading to green bigots. We regroup and move on. Thanks for input. Now on to better things.

  24. But we are not going to have a massive rebuild. All our player are contracted until 2028. Motherwell are not going to have a fire sale. I suspect we will cash in on Maswanhise , daft not to and possibly Watt but I think that's about it. This is one season where we won't have a massive rebuild.

  26. As far as I’m concerned, JBA has done his job, and done it well. He leaves the club in a significantly better position than when he arrived, with an entirely new mindset and approach to football. He was brilliant for us, and I’m pleased he’s earned a big move to France. Now we move forward under the steady stewardship of our chairman, the board, and the new head of football. Even though the chairman has said the club will follow the same recruitment process that led us to Wimmer and JBA, the attention JBA brought to our club this season will surely attract similarly talented managers to apply. Now bring on Europe.

  27. Most definitely not. But certainly our most exciting manager since Mark McGhee first time around and a much more likeable character than McGhee and Alexander who also got us European qualification. And a much better mindset and attitude than longer serving managers who also had success for us like Stuart McCall. He had us going into games against Celtic and Rangers believing we could beat them and lo and behold we record wins against both for the first time in over twenty years. Compare that to the meek, subservient pish we got against those sides under McCall’s management where you had key players like Stephen Craigan admitting that they were ‘scared’ to go to Ibrox etc. JBA changed our play and our mindset and that was brilliant to see.

  28. But....but....but....he hasn't gone to sellik! 😁😁 GIRUY I expect another leftfield foreign coach with same philosophy on style of play. We have squad all under contract, European football and sound financially. Jens , thank you for bringing us an amazing season, huge crowds, memorable results........now feck off ya judas baldy Danish p***k!!! 🤪🤪🤪 ( yes.....I am joking)
