Our budget included spending 2 million quid on stadium renovations we didn't need.
If we don't have the money to put a competent team on the park in a year which is sure to be our all time highest expenditure then heads should roll.
Don’t think the board budgeted for £250K to get rid of Alexander

If you need it explained perhaps it ain’t the game for you.
They are set up as wide attacking players (not wingers, that’s a golden age long passed some by) as part of a 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 depending on passage of play or ‘transitions’ as the split arses called it during World Cup coverage.
Playing with 2 traditional no. 6 types in Goss & Slattery doesn’t align with any 4-3-3 I’m afraid…
Whit a load of pish ……… are you honestly saying that we played 5 in midfield last night ???
Be it 2-3-1 or 5-1 that not how that team was set up last night and if you think it was it’s time you went to specsavers

Continual fatuation? We’ve not played 4-3-3 since Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Perhaps, it’s time to watch and understand?
This is not an endorsement of Connor Shields either
Then tell me what position McKinstry and Shields were playing last night

Sorry but Stevie Hammel is not cutting the mustered He’s had 5 weeks to work with this dross and try to get semblance of a team together BUT it’s still the same old shite Coner Shields should never grace a Motherwell jersey ever again someone please tell me what he brings to the party ??? As for game management what the fuck are we waiting till the 85th minute for changes ……… And don’t get me started with that 1st goal Comedy Central at its best wouldn’t see primary 7s defending like that. All in all a complete and fucking shambles and there’s now way that I see Hammel getting us out of it !!!!!

Good post. I'm not suggesting that we chuck in young lads willy nilly and in the deep end but 2/3 minutes here and there would not be amiss.
Also, I'm not suggesting that Dean Cornelius is the answer to all our problems, but you're right he gives us something different and would have given us fresh impetus and supported Moult and KVV better yesterday.
There was nothing between the teams yesterday and like others thought we should have looked at fresh legs but it’s fine lines ……… we were not under the cosh and we’re dealing with what they were able to throw at us ( which was not a lot ) so do you stick or twist hold on to what you’ve got or change it and it goes tits up.
For what it’s worth St Johnstone put on 3 subs at 75minutes and I thought it weakened them …… swings on roundabouts.

That's a couple of posters commenting on the lack of youths ... Presumably if they were good enough and ready, they would be in ...it's only going to dent a young guys confidence to put him into a struggling team
Think we have 5 or 6 of our youth out on loan to gain match experience …… Which is not to shabby IMO
The boy Johnson at Cove seems to be the best and would not be surprised to see him back in January
Also the boy Miller is very highly thought of in the 1st team squad most weeks and he is only 17 !!!
A lot of the doomsayers on here need to get a grip and have a look at the big picture regarding the clubs youth policy !!!!!
-
Think people on here need to take a reality check on what to expect in January if they think we’re going to making multiple signings in January.
Unless we are somehow able to get O’Donnell, Shileds and Morris of the wage bill the best we can hope for is 1 loan signing.

No, I'm no at the wind up. Here it is in black and white:
If, when a free kick is taken, an opponent is closer to the ball than the required distance, the kick is retaken unless the advantage can be applied; but if a player takes a free kick quickly and an opponent who is less than 9.15 m (10 yds) from the ball intercepts it, the referee allows play to continue
That last part can't be right surely?
The problem is the Celtic player was not on the field of play when he diverted the ball to another Celtic player

The worst thing about the throw in incident for me is that, whatever you think of it being contentious or not, an accident, a mistake, whatever, it was an obviously dubious moment at the time. Easy to see and an easy decision to give before the play continues any further.
Had that throw been retaken at the time, no one in the world would have questioned it. Let it go to var and f**k only knows what comes of it. But the point is it didn't need to, it was the easiest decision for collum or linesman to give at the time, why the f**k did they not??
Never mind Collum or the linesman it happened right in front of the 4th official ……… Could someone pease tell me what is the point of them apart from holding up a board that 9 times out of 10 they cannot work it correctly

How do we manage to throw the ball off the guys head ffs
The Celtic player is not on the pitch the throwing should have been taking again ………… thought VAR was supposed to check all goals !!!!!!!

Was prepared to give Stevie the benefit of the doubt but I’ve got serious concerns about him
Midfield is light weight not one of them can win a tackle or muscle someone out of the way they even struggle to pass the ball to a player in the same colour of shirt. Slattery needs to stop falling about looking for free kicks refs have gone him sussed.
KVV when he can be bothered is a handful but in games like today when he can’t be bothered we’re a man down.
We have 2 centre half’s that if we b put them together would struggle to make a half decent centre half.
We are in one big relegation struggle and I do not see it getting any better !!!!

We are currently 4 points off 3rd place and 4 off the bottom, we need to start winning and climbing the table to be safe mid table, a few wins before the world cup break would be nice.
Don’t think anyone is going to be safe in mid table this season. The battle for top 6 is going to go right to the split and I think there are 10 teams competing for 4 places.

If Miller is in the squad then we have 6 players for the 3 positions so we are covered. The only issue is no one is a natural on the left of the three but McCarthy wouldn't help with that.
He's got another two years on his deal at Celtic after this season. Money for nothing.
Miller is one we will be looking to loan out to championship club for game time ……… think minutes on the park will be limited with us

Is that based on anything, or just wishful thinking?! Either way, I’d assume that the relationship with Hammell would make it more of a possibility
Hartlepool trying to get him on loan and Leeds seem to think loan deal would benefit him
SPFL or League 2 … … we should definitely be making enquiries
-
Stuart McKinstry on loan anyone ????
-
What I liked about yesterday’s game and what Stevie said afterwards re substitutes … … players were not taken off because they were playing badly but it was to keep the tempo up. Noticeably the in midfield ……

Anybody that doesn’t play 4-3-3 !!!!!

Not so sure about that … … from what I’ve heard Uncle Roy is likely to keep his hands in his pockets
