Delighted with this, but not sure where we'd play him; Barraclough seems to favour a 4-2-3-1 formation with 2 holding midfielders and 1 up top. Really hope he ditches that and just goes for a straight 4-4-2 with Skippy & Sutton up front, and Pearson & Lasley in the middle.,, ...and Straker not even on the bench!

We should be doing the leg work now so that if/when Barra is sacked, the new man is in a day later.

Next week he's got to drop McManus and, if what I've read today is true, Lasley as well. Dom Thomas and Fraser Kerr both to start, and Grant has to play in a more advanced role. Also anyone but Straker; only seen him once but sounds like today he was just as bad as he was last week. If come 2.30pm when the team is announced next week and McManus is in the starting XI, I'll officially be in the "Barraclough must go" camp.

Your trolling is growing tiresome. I am willing to give Barra another couple of games, although I may be one of the very few left, but to read your constant arse licking and now saying it's the big bad players with their 'agendas' and not the manager's fault is ridiculous. He picks them ffs!

Is Pearson a holding midfielder or attacking midfielder? If holding I'd have him in ahead of Carswell!

HC we were a team of fast players today but didn't play quick football or break forward with pace if that makes sense! G&C it was a 4 2 3 1 all day long. I think that's the manager's preferred formation and one we should stick with. Las and Ramsden sat, I think they are in there purely down to the formation we play. I think Ramsden protects well but can't offer the same distribution that we'd get from Lawson if he ever gets fit. Grant was just behind Sutton at the start of the second half but first half he was out left. When he was attacking central was when we really only ever looked competent going forward. Just before Moore came in on Las was yelling something to Barra so I thought he was injured!

Really disappointing scoreline today. There was nothing in it for the first 20 minutes, both teams were poor, then Long made a few great saves and they seemed to get the momentum and took the lead before half time. Second half we started better, the young boy Grant started to get on the ball and there was a real sense of positivy throughout the team/support. At 1-1 we looked like we were gonna go on and absolutely smash them, but a terrible refereeing decision led to a goal and the wind was knocked right out of our sails. Heads were down and they got a 3rd soon after and we were done after that. We rallied a bit but we didn't look close to creating anything. That spell for 10 mins at the start of the first half though, Grant, Erwin and Thomas were all linking up and passing and moving and I genuinely thought we were going to pump them. I'm a fan of Twardzik but Long is a class keeper. He looked really confident in the air, made some smart stops and just a generally top keeper I think. Straker at left back is technically really poor. A few times he was clearing it down the line with his foot/head and it was just going straight out the park. He can knock the ball about a bit but we need Hammell back asap. Fraser Kerr was pretty decent I thought. McManus was poor today, but no matter how badly you play in a game of football, the level of abuse hurled at him was completely unacceptable. I thought I heard someone shout for him to go "away and die", but I must be mistaken, surely nobody would have fucking said that! Reid barely got pass marks and actually got forward a few times too which was good to see. Thomas showed in flashes what he can do but I didn't think he was up to much today. Ramsden's general distribution is really poor. It's all well and good being a defensive midfielder but you've got to at least be able to spray the ball about a bit. Lasley was okay, and Grant is a bit of real quality. When Lasley went off for Moore, Barra dropped Grant deeper and all of a sudden we had nothing going forward. I'm a big fan of Erwin but today he was hot and cold. Sutton's attitude today was totally spot on, something he can never be faulted for. Johnson when he came on seemed to try far too hard with the fancy flicks, but again you can see he's got potential. At half time I was sitting to myself thinking how unusual it was for a referee to have been so good. The second half though was mental, he was fucking awful after half time! Really gutted to lose today, but you can just just just see a bit of potential in these new guys going forward. We need a result soon though, otherwise Barra will be under some pressure very soon. Will upload vids of the goals later, just before the 2nd you can hear some guy in his mid 20s matter of factly telling everyone around him how it was all Alan Burrows' fault for giving out 2 year deals Special mention to the Well Boys today, great atmosphere!

Great interview. Would absolutely love to have seen the entire day from an insider's point of view, there will be a load of stuff that happened (or never happened) that we'll never know about. Must've been some day for all involved!
