I think his point is that you never said that...

The last few months have been the worst at Fir Park in a good few years. From the uncertainty of the future of the club to being managerless, and now we have a definitive answer in terms of our future and a manager with a decent (albeit short) track record and potentially great connections down south. Would urge anybody who hasn't yet to watch the Futbal Mondial clip about him, he comes across as really enthusiastic and a very nice guy.
We're certainly not out of the woods yet, the next few weeks will be crucial, but great to finally have a bit of excitement and optimism after the past few weeks

In many respects this is possibly the worst possible appointment we could have made (if true). We are crying out for excitement to re-engage fans, players etc. like it or not, a recognised name like vdg would have got bums on seats and peaked the interest. Picking somine the vast majority of us never heard of before from a scout position in the lower reaches of english football smacks of a lack of ambition and attempt to raise the stature of the club. I like many others feared fan ownership would be likely to whittle away any standing of the club even further and whilst those views may not be liked on these boards, the lack of bums on seats suggests I'm not alone in my thinking. Not impressed at all.
Jesus wept give the guy a fuckin chance. If you think appointing VDG would have packed out Fir Park you are delusional!

Hope it's big Mitch even more now so you boys make a decent wedge, well done

Really hoping to see Van der Gaag appointed!

Even if the new manager is appointed tomorrow morning it will give him a whopping day and a half to get to know the players before the massive massive game on Saturday.
Bravo once again Motherwell.
Mate seriously lighten up a bit.

Bob Maskannt will do for me. We need a totally whole new outlook and way of playing and get new players in and the crap players out. Training needs changed. At the moment we're crap.Stale.Unfit and lacking belief.Complete overhaul required and for Kenny Black to say in the press today that the new manager has a lot of good quality to work with just shows how little he knows about football. We cant pass a ball 5 yards. Easily beaten week in week out. We also need to find funds from somewhere to get shot of Black and Marshall and get new coaching staff in as well.
What are you rambling about now?! Do you expect him to say "new gaffers got his work cut out, these boys are shite.vigours CRAP! Ramsden and kerr CRAP! keeper is a midget and ojamma lately has been CRAP!"
Use your noodle man.

Went for David Ferguson, thought he was better than Kerr & Ramsden have been any time I've seen them.
-
It's Butcher's to turn down.
Ugh, shite
-
Erwin and in particular Ferguson showed today that the lads in the youth team are no worse than certain first team players. They both looked fearless.
Twardzik was superb as ever, some keeper for an alleged "midget". Special mention to Ramsden's tackle, totally uneccessary and and on second viewing pretty disgraceful.
Confident of at least 4 pts over the next 2 games.

What's the plan with not starting Ainsworth? Yes I know he often looks uninterested, unfit and unmotivated but that could be levelled at every player we have at the moment.
The difference being Ainsworth is capable of pinging one in given half the chance.
Say what you want about Josh Law but I thought he helped us out defensively a lot today. You perhaps wouldn't have got that from Ainsworth.

Confirmed at the press conf that although Kenny Black did not specifically apply for the job he will be considered.
I may be in the minority but I wouldn't be too unhappy about KB getting the job, I like what I've seen from him so far.
Terry Butcher is a big no for me, at least with Kenny Sheils there's method to the madness. Would be pleased with Mowbray and would also take Jimmy Calderwood who did a great job at Aberdeen.

Just watched the highlights, looks like wee Dan had the game of his life today. Utd look a cracking side, must be nice...
-
Massive game, really hope we can scrape through. If we're gonna go out, hopefully it's via a replay for a wee bit more £ for the club.
2-1 to us, Ojamaa and Sutton!
-
I don't think anyone wants us to be starting our U19s week in week out, just the introduction of one or two who have promise to shake things up a bit would be nice.
Sadly, I think the case is that the youngsters maybe aren't good enough to make a difference.
-
the fans as always are being treated like mushrooms; fed shit and kept in the dark!
What do you mean by that? What is it the club should be talking to the fans about? Genuine question btw, not being sarky.

Remember Mark Reynolds....
Only got a game as 5 other centre backs were injured. Never left the team for years.
How do we know they are not good enough until we give be them a chance???
For every Mark Reynolds there is a Bobby Donnelly
think that guy still has nightmares about Dado Prso

We are still wasting a lot of money at the club. For example, I have heard what McHugh is getting paid weekly, there will be others too (not singling him out)
I'm sorry but stuff like this just annoys me. Just because someone told you what he gets paid doesn't make it true. The same thing happened with Gunnar Nielsen. Somebody said about two years ago they heard he was getting paid stupid money and now it's pretty much considered fact on here.

From Wikipedia...
In June 2005, Roberts was appointed manager of Clyde. He only had three players under contract, and held open trials in an attempt to get new players. Roberts gave the supporters their greatest day in years, when his Clyde side defeated Celtic in the Scottish Cup in January 2006.[3] Earlier in the season, Clyde took Rangersto extra time at Ibrox Stadium in the Scottish League Cup. Roberts was sacked by Clyde in August 2006 after allegations he made racist remarks.[3] An employment tribunal found that the allegations were "either highly exaggerated or possibly not true" and awarded Roberts £32,000 compensation for unfair dismissal.[3]In September 2010, he was hired as consultant to the Pakistan national football team to assist the coaching staff.[4] Roberts was appointed as head coach in the following month.[5]He then joined the Nepal national football team in January 2011. In March 2012 he stepped down as coach after a 3-0 defeat to Turkmenistan in the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup.[6] It is said that he was unhappy about Nepal Army "conscripting" two of their players and it played a part in his resignation.

Nah, not a theory either...was only trying to have a laugh.
I very much doubt that Mr Boyle has or ever will be a member of a Masonic Lodge!
Well he did vote no...
-
^ so with the Well Society, it'd be business as normal? Would we have money in the bank? What would happen in the event of a financial shortfall? If we sell a player for £1,000,000, where does that money go?
Sorry if these questions have already been answered.
-
If we get linked with these ambitious appointments like Solano, Ardiles & Ince and end up with a Kenny Sheils I'll be disappointed!
-
Sorry if already posted, but Winston Bogare has apparently applied! Might go against the grain but I wouldn't be disappointed to see Kenny Black take it on. My preference would be McKinlay though.
-
So because they despised him, then it's ok for them to down tools? If I behaved like that every time I didn't like my gaffer I'd be shown the door.
Nono you misunderstand me; it's obviously not acceptable for the players to do that (if they did), but IMO it was acceptable for them to despise him, as he was a cunt.

Wonder if we'll see any big changes from the gaffer, like Erwin in for Sutton or Cadden to get a start.
Fwiw I think we'll absolutely hump them, our season starts here.
