Reply to many posts in this thread asking for some reasoning behind your thoughts... you still haven't given any. you LIVED down here, past tense. and just because you were here doesn't neccessarily mean you know anything about english football. I find you calling defences down here poor quite laughable, Englands second tier is a much better standard than the Scottish Premier. sorry to break that to you, But your player is moving UP in the ladder by coming to England. thats why the only half decent scots are either at the old firm picking up their pay packets or playing in England bettering themselves as footballers. and gloucester folk aren't exactly well renouned for their footballing knowledge... something in the water or in the gas pipes i heard :S You don't know that our new player should score more than Nicky Maynard did last season, In fact if he gets ten in this league then he will be a good signing. Your grasp of English football is seriously deluded. 20+ goalscorers are as rare as scottish world cup appearances and the standard of defenses in the championship can't be written off because of west broms record in the Premiership, thats ludicrous considering they were always viewed as defensively weak in our division... Stick to scottish football mate, cos its frankly embarrasing listening to another forum "no it all" seems a lot of the more in the know 'well fans agree you're a bit of a nubcake... good luck 'well use our cash wisely

Just thought i'd say thanks to you for the player Hopefully we get to see the player you all seem to love down at the gate, rather than some of the more dissapointing scots we've had (lee miller & dave partridge(not scot but from this league!)) Its a transfer thats gotten us excited down here. especially with the reactions you have been giving on here so... fingers crossed eh? and thanks for the reply weeyin.... we've got plenty like you on our forums... nothing to show for their mouth good luck in rebuilding your team etc... peace out from down south <3

Sorry to do this, split the quote up lark... I'm just pretty peeved with you. I don't really understand this remark. Is it common place for you to make blind sweeping judgements and not be asked for some reasoning? Or is it an attempt at humour to brush off the fact you're clueless about English football, and have nothing to base your arguments on? It's not a case of seeing them as "evil", it's a case of knowing about the two clubs concerned. Their Footballing team aren't any better than us, two draws last season show we're evenly matched. As does the fact that they achieved as much as we did last season. Mid table. I also don't think we are a stepping stone club. If anyone here is a stepping stone club it is unfortunately Motherwell. Bristol City are a club with genuine premiership ambitions, and most English pundits seems to agree we are now a big club in our division. We did fail to make it, and it hurts like hell to this day. But that ws our first shot at it. last season we stabilized our position in the league. I've emphasised the word guess to show exactly what every post you've made about Bristol city has been. Guesswork. You're even trying to claim things about our chairman. I think you should probably research some things before your next post, because as far as I can see, you have little knowledge of this subject (Bristol city and this transfer in general) another thing. I don't really know what its like in scotland or at Motherwell, But we don't sell players we don't have to. Marvin Elliot is a prime example of this. so again. shhh So you're basing you're (ill informed) opinion of my club on a result that was two seasons ago, and one which we had a man sent off very early. Ipswich aren't exactly poor are they? they've got a very expensive squad, and at the time of that result were challenging for the playoffs... sorry other 'Well fans I just don't agree with this fella! and thanks for those compliments above, we do have a lot of good posters on our forums. Just wondering what your problem with Bristol City is weeyin? I mean, to call us a team in decline when you have 13 pro players, no manager and have to sell your best to stay afloat is a bit rich isnt it? Not to mention we have one of the most talented british managers at the helm, the most stable and comitted chairman and a squad that played poorly last season and was still the 30th best side in England... Now i don't want to sound like I'm bigging my club up too much, or anything big headed. Because I'm not big headed about us at all. I can just see we are a club going in the right direction. Which brings me to your next point. you're absurdly claiming crapdiff are going places? how can you possibly justify that? Millions of debts, a buffoon as chairman and a playing squad to expensive to keep wages wise. if cardiff fail to gain Premiership football next season, they will be the next leeds, southampton, luton... etc etc etc. and I'm looking forward to that! I'd personally say your judgements on Bristol city are ill informed. If you knew anything about the club, you'd be as excited and optimistic as our fans are. considering just how much garbage we as a set of fans have been subjected to since the glorious 70's, its particularly tough to make us positive. the fact we are now a much more vibrant support should give you a clear indication of just how well the club is ran. Personally I think clarkson could do a lot worse than City. And i certainly hope he comes here. he will be a great foil for Maynard and be a great addition to our squad.
