As I don't arrive until Thursday afternoon I'll be watching from behind the goal outside the stadium.
I have only a slightly better chance of a ticket as I arrive 8.30 am Thursday. Be straight to the stadium to see if any left. When I called the ticket office on Friday to enquire about tickets I was told the Icelanders offered 160. No idea what had changed. I assume you can only but one ticket? I know it's not motherwells fault but there will be fans miss out on a ticket that have not missed a match in ages, just because they arrive a bit early. Not exactly rewarding loyalty
-
@MotherwellFC: The reward for the winners of next Thursday’s match in Iceland is a third round tie against JK Nõmme Kalju or Lech Poznań...
Holme or away leg first?
-
The Icelanders never brough tickets with them so they will he on sale at their ground to away fans. I believe there is at least 160 available
-
Any word on tickets yet for the game in Iceland?
I'd assume it's a pick up over there. Not enough time to post them out now. As of 3 pm Wednesday the ticket office has no clue as to cost, amount of tickets or when they would get them. Is assume they will now have info at hand
-
Is there any chance this game will have a live stream kicking about?
Maybe some of the betting channels?

Our opposition have arrived...

Hope they have brought the tickets for the away leg with them because, as of 3 pm today the ticket office had no idea the cost, how many we are getting or even when. If they have not brought the tickets over it does not leave much time to post them out
-
I'm not convinced it will be just down to the cost of a ticket that will keep fans away. Holidays, family commitments, not very attractive opposition as much as cost of ticket will not help with crowd.Conservatively, if I decide to go to the game it will cost me about £300. So a tenner cheaper ticket won't be swaying me. On the plus side I can save £5.95 by collecting new top instead of getting it posted.

I think any score to nil would be good. A decent lead would be great but any lead with them not scoring would be ok by meI read in today's record Mccall saying we cant go gun-ho at home and may play it like the last game of season v sheep! FFS i hope he's playing mind games; we should be certainly be on the front foot and trying to score a few goals for a decent lead int
o away leg

I've seen you post this a couple of times now, pray tell?
Young ladies take their guys there and "pleasure" them . Hence the locals referring to it as the sperm bank. I hear it's good for the complexion

Planning on going to the Blue Lagoon upon arrival from Manchester then onto Reykjavik.
Just remember what the locals nickname it
-
4 of us booked these flights with easyJet last week, got them £50 cheaper , still way cheaper than other options.
I think I paid £161. Seem to be a few on these flights. Worth organising a minibus rather than hang about waiting on the bus? Be quicker getting to Reykjavik, assuming we are all staying there
-
Anyone still thinking of going there are fights available out of Manchester Thursday to Sunday £ 218.

I'm slightly worried about the fact we normally struggle in the 1st legs of European games and do the damage in the 2nd leg. (Flamurtari, Llanelli, allesunds). With the 2nd leg away from home, i wouldn't fancy going over there needing to win, or even worse a goal down...
You going then?

FFS, why couldn't Bangor play like this in the 1st leg? Should be 4-2 up with better finishing, great save by Bangor keeper from corner. Icelanders are very tall, probably made a few changes from 1st leg, they like a dive.
From a travel and financial point of view Bangor would have been much better. But from a tourist and party point of view Reykjavik wins. Any young ( or oldish) free and single guy will have a ball. There are about 5 women to every guy and all stunning. They are also, to quote and Icelandic guy I met on a fight, " very liberal". Nobody sleeps in Reykjavik at the weekend. So if you're going stay over Friday and Saturday. Many great touristy things to do in between also.

There's no way £355 will pay for your full trip.
If the bet comes up he doesn't go to Iceland I assume

Has the next round been ( provisionally) drawn? I know the dates are 31 July and 8th august, have home and way been decided too? What's the average temperatures... 12º-13º? Be warmer when we hit Torino in the next round at any rate then the new shorts can come out
-
Yes, I went out there. From my position the seats certainly looked full. The ground is so open on 3 sides that I'm sure a vantage point could be found from outside as well.
I assume not exactly shorts and t-shirt weather when you were there

3 of us heading to Iceland :-D
Although while 2 of us fly out from Manchester at 7AM on the Thursday 1 of my mates can't get Thursday off work so is flying out on the 5PM flight from Edinburgh, gets in 40 minutes before kick off! He will be lucky to see the 2nd half!!
Then we are going out to get completely pished in Reykjavik till 4AM and go straight to the airport for our morning flight back! Will be the shortest 'holiday' ever for him, less than 12 hours!
How can they announce kick off time when game has not been finalised? I'm on same flights from Manchester but staying until Sunday. I have a mate who went to Tokyo to watch scotland play and was there less than 36 hours
-
Ah, handy then! Mibbee see you in the airport bar at 5AM then!
Going to be a long day so maybe I'll join you for a cappacino. How are you getting to Manchester?
-
Accommodation - I'm having a look at accommodation Reykjavik - where are we all staying and where is cheap?
I'm staying here. Www.hlemmursquare.com . It's really central to Reykjavik, cheap and it gets good reviews
-
Booked it, packed it and fucking off to Iceland!
If they get through...
Anyone else on the 7AM job from Manchester on the Thursday morning? Was only £116. If so how you all getting down there?
I'm on this back on Sunday but as I live 8 minutes from Manchester airport it's a taxi for me
-
You do know what the locals nickname the blue lagoon? Anyway as far as going out for a wee drive. Let me know. Would cost about £30 each if three of us but that would get a car for all day Saturday to see some sights and transport back to airport for flight on Sunday. I'm ok with driving as I won't be drinking muchTheres a big group of us heading to the blue lagoon on the friday and while the majority are flying home friday night, two of us are staying out until Sunday and then flying back to Manchester. I'd be up for this but i'm not sure what my mate wants to do, hes down in London for the Libertines but i'll speak to him when hes back up the road and let you know.

were there wed-fri
we done the icebergs the last time but remember its a 6hr round trip
Last time I was there with scotland we hired a car. It's pity to go to such a great place do nothing but sit in a pub and go to game. I realise some people are " time poor" so might only be there for a day but anyone there for two days or longer should really try and see something other than bars. In saying that rekjavik at the weekend is party town. But no reason why you can't do some sight seeing as well as party, and of course watch football
