Can someone clear up what happened on their second penalty? I couldn't see well as I was in the Cooper stand, but even watching the highlights, there wasn't anything different to every other football game in the world in these situations (that I could see)

All SPL clubs are in the same situation in terms of TV revenue and all that, so I'd say that we don't desperately need new players as financial safety is job one. I can see a couple of teams being on the verge of administration with the number of signings they have made. So that being said, maybe 3rd or 4th is a possibility this season; I'd say thr 4 games in Europe is all we can hope for.

I'm surprised at the overwhelming "no" here. I agree that rangers deserved to be punnished heavily, but there is so much to take into account. Losing Rangers will definitely lower the standard of football in the SPL, we will lose money from TV rights and gate reciepts from games against rangers. We already struggle to compete financially with some of the lower leagues in England; if our budget was lowered even further then we would end up competing with the likes of the conference teams or welsh and irish teams. We could also suffer in the future as our youth system would lose some of its funding. It could then contribute to a lower quality of football in Scotland and may lead to the SPL losing european spots later. This will only lower our income even more leading to even further cuts in the future causing a snowball effect leading to a very poor quality league. I think it may be possible to keep the integrity of the Scottish game AND allow rangers newco to be in the SPL, they just need to get punished in another way that won't screw over Motherwell and the other SPL teams. Heavy points deductions over several years or something like that? I understand that people want rangers to be punbished like everyone else, but the fact of the matter is that right now, we rely on the money from Rangers and removing them will inevitebly negatively affect Motherwell Footbasll Club, whom I love I only want the best for us and motherwell

With Motherwell's tight wage budget it would be crazy to sign another central midfielder. We already have Las and Jenno, who are playering very well together this season. We also have Hateley. We also signed Daley to be back up for our strikers as apparently he can play anywhere up front (although I have only seen him play on thew wing). If we were to sign one player I would hope it was a natural right back, which we don't have in our team at the moment. Hateley is doing okay there, but he isn't the best right back

I think it is clear we need some more creativity in midfield. We are still missing JOB in my opinion and need someone who can create something from the left for our strikers

In reference to a possible player to sponsor: Shaun Hutchinson would get my vote. Definitely the best of the players with a home strip available

He had a great season last year & made very few mistakes. He was apparently suffering from an illness at the end of the season (around the hibs game) & he did make a couple of errors, but a good manager should see that he is a quality player with a good head on him for a young guy. I would be surprised if we got no offers for him, but whether we would get in excess of £1million, I doubt it.
