I see the performance therapist as part of management team is called Tom Jones,. Quite funny to have a member named after a pop star but apparently It's Not Unusual. ...sorry folks
-
Everyone has their own opinions on starting line ups and formations which is fair do's,, would be boring if we all had the same thoughts. I know the team I would like tomorrow but it will be hee haw near what Alexander picks. Qualifying is the priority but to do it with a good performance would be a good start

Quite pleased at this announcement, but he's not a player I'd build a long / medium term strikeforce around. Very talented, but he's too inconsistent in various ways.
Yep agree with this. I like KVV but too selfish at times and workrate questionable at times. I feel fact he is guaranteed a start when fit can sometimes work against us as he hasn't got anyone on the bench threatening to take his place. However when fit and in the mood and avoiding stupid bookings he is definitely an asset

Over the years there have been managers a lot worse than Alexander, Hynd... Watson...Kampman (jeez!!), Malpas (jeez Part 2), McGhee (2nd spell)
As I have said before the problem with Alexander is he is just a guy I find hard to take to. I don't expect a 'hey guys, how's tricks ' but I do expect a manager who at least gives impression he is trying his best to improve us. When Robbo left it was the right decision but at least with Robbo there was a side to him where he genuinely was trying everything but alas it just wasn't happening.
There could well be a different side to Alexander that we don't see and he has the players all on board but I am not convinced. Don't have any evidence, just my own personal hunch.
At this moment in time my wish is I wake up on Friday morning knowing we are in the next round.....COYW

Let's see what happens after Thursday, if we are still in competition it buys him some time but he really needs to up his game in my opinion. As for post match interviews I have been critical as they really are insulting the fans intelligence, fans that pay a lot of good money. We had over 7,000 on Thursday witnessing that performance. To then have your manager say we created '20 chances 'is a joke. Again these are just my views and I know there are fans that think Alexander is wonderful which is their right but personally I feel change is required. We have a good squad but they aren't being utilised properly.... COYW

Sorry but a crucial must win European tie is no place to be trying out an academy player with very limited 1st team experience, so I hope he is nowhere near the team.
Must win yes ......no way Johnston will start but do we trust one step forward, two step backwards Carroll? My opinion won't matter as guaranteed Alexander will start him

4 3 3 hasn't worked for ages so I would go for a 4 4 1 1 to start
Kelly
Mcginn. Lamie megaphone sol .....SOD
Spittal. Cornelius Slatter morris
Tierney
KVV
I Know that won't happen but just my view. Feel sorry for SOD, takes so much stick but no as bad as made out by some. Is blatantly obvious Alexander doesn't rate him but mcginn is at least good replacement if SOD leaves. It's a shame Alexander fails to recognise we have no left backs

The reality is that he has no credit in the bank with the fans after last season, rightly or wrongly. He did achieve a fair bit but thats now history and the team is now his and his alone. If we lose next week he won't get sacked but he will be under great pressure from the support. If we start the season badly, or even with mediocrity, and by that I mean late September, after a relatively easy start to the season, then the support will force the Board's hand, if that is indeed required.
He angered a lot of fans on Thursday for a number of reasons: poor preparation; underestimating Sligo; failure to change much from last season; and his post match comments.
I agree he won't get sacked on the back of next week's result but it will result in ramped up fan unrest and could herald the beginning of the end for him.
Great post, agree 100%

Like a few folk I am not in the slightest bit interested in other clubs, my only concern is for the well
We have all had our say in past 24 hours and I think it's time to think ahead to next week's tie. We are still in the competition so let's keep the faith and hopefully this time next week we have a glamour tie to look forward to where the pressure will be off as we will be massive underdogs.... Agree with that, any shite like that should be being called out by the club. Any religious or political related chanting or banners should have no place at Fir Park. There is, or should not be, any kind of ideology when following Motherwell FC.
Club needs to deal with this asap, I get more angry the more I think about it.

Find who threw the bottle and ban them for life, we don't need clowns like that at our games

Comes across as decent guy,. Jeez didn't realise he was that near us. I am on the video near the end,. I could have told him a few jokes.......maybe that was another reason he left early. Seriously though it's embarrassing that he had to leave early, hope it doesn't put him off coming back to Fir Park

I spoke to a few older Sligo fans who were superb but they were also genuinley asking if they'd be safe getting back to their transport due to the verbal venom that was being thrown at them from the "Well Bois"
I get that they are trying to create an atmosphere but the behaviour is getting too much now, 99.9% of fans just want to go and enjoy the football without getting abused and threatened.
Couple that with officials getting pelted with items and its not good enough, it makes us look terrible as a club and will cost us money AGAIN.
Sadly there is an element in that section that is dragging the club down, I never heard the chanting as was at opposite side of stand but this needs to be stopped asap. However I must point out the majority bring great support and enthusiasm and not an ounce of trouble, I know this as my mates lads are in that section and are brilliant lads. COYW

His last 91minutes of playing in cup ties hasn't been impressive. Can do the basics but when it comes to having to make a decision then it puts us in bother, last night the prime example when booting into main stand was perfect option

No sack after one game has yer mind gone blank about the run fae December he deserved sacked for utter pish his team team has served up and if we can’t compete with a team whose Budget ( big thing on this site) is well below ours then god knows where the club is heading
Mind totally fine and last season I was one of his biggest critics. But he isn't going to go after one game. If we can't qualify against Sligo and have a poor start to season then he has to go. But I will stay positive and hope this time next week we are looking forward to next round

For any opposition scouting us it must be a dream as you know it will be 4 3 3. Sadly Alexander too stubborn to admit it doesn't work. I am not calling for him to go after one game of a season but by jeez he needs to sort this mess and quickly. We need about 5 or 6 players and we need some cleared out if St Mirren can be tempted to sign them (lol). A big problem for me is his mannerism and attitude. I don't expect a "hey guys, how you all doing" but I do expect a realistic assessment of a match and not a constant delusional view of a match that our fans see totally differently. Let's hope next week can see us turn this round

ECL Sligo Rovers v Motherwell 28/7/22

Always respect your views David even though our views of Alexander are different. I just find his interviews difficult to listen to as he doesn't seem to accept that his tactics aren't working and fact he seems to think we created a lot of good chances. At end of the day give me a scrappy 2-0 win tonight and progress to the next round
