Am I correct in thinking Albert Kidd might have scored at least one of our goals?

As for the interesting fish anecdote, sorry to be pedantic, but traditionally they smoke haddock in Arbroath so technically unlikely to be kippers. As you can guess, I am great fun at parties.

With regard to the local neds, I used to live in Dundee in the late eighties, early nineties and there were tales of the Arbroath locals trying to mix it with folk from the local military base at Condor. Needless to say they came off second best against Royal Marine Commandos.

Great fish info but we need to knock you off your perch!!!.  Ba boom.    I best stop , I will be giving everyone a haddock.

Ps. For cup tie might be best to play long ball game, might be worth trying to sign Connor Sammon!!! (Sorry folks)

    Remember that game.

Having a piss over the harbour wall that the wind blew back right over my head and some smart Alex who thought it would be a good idea to bring home a couple of stinking kippers on the bus.

Was a bit of bother with the locals as well if I remember correctly.

Probably the locals that were standing behind you when you had a piss!!! Lol

I seem to remember a cup tie at Garfield in the early eighties. I think we won four nil. Might be a little tougher this time as Dick Campbell has done a great job there. Still, someone different and an away day for our fans against someone we rarely play. Used to be a very tidy ground as well so worth a visit if you are into that sort of thing.

And a lover of lasagne!!!!......ahhh do ye not mean Gayfield?   Lol

    Not good ones.

A certain cup replay v Hearts at Fir Park springs to mind.

    Still gives me nightmares.

Yup that was my exact same image, remember being right behind the goals and my Dad putting his arm round me after the goal as I was gutted.  We would have had St Mirren in semi final and Dundee or Dundee utd in final, huge opportunity missed.... thankfully roll on 4 years later to 91

I had a notepad and pen with me and occasionally grabbed phone and went "yes Pep...looks promising.....has potential"....lol

Iceland's winning goal was a pen caused by a mistake by Scottish midfielder Hayden Hackney, was so tempted to shout TAXI !!!

This might be unpopular on here, but I dont actually think Kelly is an international class goalkeeper.

And before we get into the semantics of what that actually means, I do think he is probably the best alternative to Gordon we have right now that is available for selection.

For that reason alone, I agree he should at least have got the second half so his first cap isnt when he is being thrown in during a vital qualifier if Gordon is injured.

But lets not kid ourselves. Kelly is a good shotstopper. But he isnt tall enough, doesnt command the 6 yard box and his distribution is rank. Very good keeper at our level and Im delighted to have him at Motherwell, but he is likely to be exposed playing for Scotland.

Marshall (and dare I say McGregor) are still both better keepers so saying Stevie Clarke would bring Marshall back if he could shouldnt really be a surprise, I would too. But they have both retired, so on that basis Kelly should have got game time last night.

I do hope for the national teams sake though, that Craig Gordon can go on for some time yet.

Totally see where you coming from.  Kelly's height and distribution can work against him. What I don't understand is why if he is no.2 is Clarke isn't prepared to give him a game for experience. Gordon still no.1 which can't be argued against but he's nearly 40. Euros will be his last campaign

  7. Willie Hunter last inductee for this year. I have to say I did find that emotional as he was my Dad's hero when he followed the well home and away.  He would have been so chuffed to see Willie in Hall of Fame but would no doubt have said......should have happened years ago!! .lol
