Nobody has mentioned the performance of debut boy Penney, I know the opposition were dire but have to say I was impressed by him tonight and certainly looks a decent addition.

Glad he had a good debut or he would have taken a POUNDing, I also believe his favourite player is Raheem STERLING.  sorry folks, still happy after tonight's result

This is an absolutely terrible comment...Did you actually go to the game?.. We created lots of chances, lots of one touch football and free flowing stuff all over the park...ball was pinged about on the deck all over the place. Efford probably had his best game for us on the right. Tierney was unplayable and Goss was spraying great passes all over the park. Defence were outstanding when called upon and mopped everything up. Even under pressure they didn't punt it up the park and played the ball on the deck out of bother. I have no problems about where the goals come from as the players were breaking their neck to get in about the goals and were just unlucky not to score.

Agree 100% , I actually said to my mate leaving the ground "I bet ye someone mentions only 1 goal from open play"

He's certainly the top 1 from last 2-3 seasons.

Agree we've gone through some great spells with excellent keepers  @MelvinBragg Who's in your top 3 from last 15 years ?   Ruddy.......Randolph.......

My top 3 from past 40 years are Gardiner....... Chapman and Woods........yes ...that is another grizzly joke

Fair enough, I thought it was Shields who hit the bar, now checked differently.

A shot for a penalty isn’t in mine, hence, I asked if criteria had changed.

If he doesn't shoot it doesn't hit guys arm.  Yep maybe clutching at straws but just highlighting he isn't as bad as a lot of folk were judging after only 2 appearances

Just took grizzlyg word for it but off top of my head. His shot off bar rebounded to van veen at aberdeen. His shot won penalty at St mirren. And his pass v killie.

Thats 3 in my book and I wouldn't consider myself a fan boy unfortunately .

Yep that was the 3 I was counting.  Some folk might not consider some assists, what I was trying to highlight was he has been involved in a lot of our goals

Must play our strongest team for this one

If you offered me Europe this season again, or a cup final at Hampden I know what I would pick , been so long hearing about 1991 that one of these seasons it must be our turn of a cup

In reality of course I don’t see it happening, but always good to think it will if things go our way

Exactly, our only chance of silverware is one of the cup's. 31 years far too long without a trophy, almost every other top division team has won a trophy since then

One loss on a totally shite pitch ,with a brand new manager. Who’s still getting to grips with being a first team manager and players getting used to new ideas on how he wants them to play.  Give the team at least two minutes to get settled.

    Well said (no pun intended)

  8. I do despair sometimes on here. After last week we had 9/12 pts.  We lose today and then it's ahhh we were lucky v st Mirren and got jammie pen v Livi.  This is a long term project and just imagine the position if GA was still in charge.  I have a good feeling we are on the right tracks...keep the faith

Sadly I have to report the death of a former long term BT colleague and lifetime Motherwell fan, John Stevenson,  John had been a season ticket holder for a long number of years and sat in the pod alongside myself,  Kmcalpin and others for many years.

To my knowledge he was never a member of the steelmen online forum but I thought it would be appropriate to mention him on here as a mark of respect for a lifetime well fan, whose company we enjoyed at matches for years.

His two passions in life were Motherwell and rugby as he was also a season ticket holder for Glasgow warriors at Scotstoun.

Due to serious illness, pancreatic cancer he never renewed his season ticket for the 21/22 season , he never really recovered after the chemo treatment, and finally passed away yesterday, aged 69.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him .

Thoughts with all of his family
