I think so as well. It was always a dodgy situation allowing the manager to surround himself entirely with his own backroom team. While it may seem like a good thing at the time to back the manager, it also means if and when he goes they all follow.

I'd like whoever comes in to have Hammell installed as the assistant, with Kerr moved up to take on the job Hammell had with the youths.

Hoooo get your own suggestions!! That's what I said!! Lol, only joking pal

I am all aboard the Simo train now with Hammell as number two like someone said above.

Kups sitting top of the league and the man Is willing to leave that and come to our shit mountain to sort us out. That shall do for me that shows me he wants to give it a good go.

Ps think Nick Daws needs to go to make this work properly.

Fact Simo keeps applying tells me how much he wants to make a go of this. I am warming to the idea and yes with Hammell no.2 and put Brian Kerr in charge of academy.  See what happens

  so we need a new manager, a decent left back a holding midfielder,  a prolific striker and now a forum joke teller, that was bad even by your standards.

Sorry pal, Barrel was well scraped with my last attempt!!

  4. Watching closing ceremony of commonwealth games last night and I noticed the athletes were walking in a 4 3 3 formation..... then I realised it was coming from the Alexander Stadium!!..... sorry folks

  5. The Alexander/ O'Donnell debate has ran it course now.  Regarding SOD I don't quite get a lot of the views but each to their own, definitely had a poor spell last season but I feel with right manager could flourish. As with all clubs you have players that take criticism and others can do no wrong, just my view but I feel that with Van Veen, yes scored lots of goals last season but also done plenty wrong and very selfish and lazy at times, but that is why he is with us and not at a higher level, but at same time when in the mood he is a huge asset.  It's all part of being a well fan.  COYW. PS. well that was full speech without one joke.......... Knock Knock...(who's there)........lol

  6. With us no doubt paying off Alexander and Lucketti then I don't know where the cash would be to also pay compensation to Killie and Ross co for McInnes or Mackay. Mind you I would assume Valakari under contract unless he has a clause in his contract.  If no joy then we could just go further north to Lapland and approach Santa as he has an ahem.....claus in his contract!!......sorry folks

As far as the game itself was concerned, first half was very poor. Slow, pedestrian, no movement, poor first touches all over the pitch and gifted them a goal. Felt a lot like the Sligo games.

2nd half was a lot better. Credit to Hammy for making the changes quickly and but for some better finishing and decision making in the final 3rd we should really have got the equaliser long before we did.  To get the equaliser so late and then give it straight back with such poor defending is just criminal.

Other observations, Collum is still a really shite referee. Not the reason we lost the game, but the 2 penalty decisions are huge, particularly when you see what he is giving free kicks for all over the rest of the pitch.

Finally, 90% of our support, me included, had no idea what the bois were demonstrating about.  As stated previously you cant see the banners from the East Stand so it just looked like idiotic behaviour and a disruptuon to the game. I realise that to be effective protests generally need to be spontaneous, and unannounced, but maybe a wee bit more forethought is needed as to how to take the whole support with you. Even if our support do push the boundaries at times, no one can deny the stewarding at St Mirren can be over officious, so there would be general support for the point made. That was lost today.

Agree totally, we had no idea what was going on, understand the reasons but at start of 2nd half when we need a reaction when losing?, sorry I don't agree but just my opinion. Anyway onto the game, plenty endeavour and loved fact Hammell changed dugout set up so we are at home side.  Bevis and sol give me fear and up front I am sorry and I know fans like him but KVV needs to remember it's a team game and not all about him. Goss and mcginn good and mahon lively, shields needs rested and Efford taking an eternity to shoot bewildering.  However some fans still need to get a grip, some of shouts and criticism OTT, at this stage we all need to unite and get right behind the team

Boyd and McKinnon were decent full backs in their time, Boyd might be an obnoxious celtic obsessed arsehole these days, but he was a decent player back in the day.

Rab McKinnon was one of my favourite ever players, just slightly behind Joe wark as best ever left back

I realise that this is yet another piece of speculation and I'm not putting this forward as my choice nor can I claim that it's true, but I have heard from a couple of folk who claim links with the club that it'll be O'Dea as manager with Steven McManus as his assistant.

That doesn't inspire me but at end of the day whoever gets the job needs the fans to get behind them and give them a chance

  10. One thing I hope for on Saturday is a cracking atmosphere and none of the behaviour witnessed at both Sligo games from some fans. We all need to get right behind the team, nothing worse for a player if getting dogs abuse every time a mistake is made. Sure , there are players I am not a fan of but I don't berate them when they are on the pitch.  Let's hope for a 2nd league win and a happy forum ..COYW

  11. Looks like he hasn't applied but would be happy to talk to the club.  I would have no problem with him bring asked. I know some have questioned his record down south but we aren't going to get a manager who has won multiple trophies. Lambert and Valakari both appealing and I am sure a few others that we haven't even considered.  Stevie H also can't be discounted especially if we win on Saturday and there are more positive signs...
