We've won 1 out of our last 15 European matches and that was at home against Glentoran who caused us all sort of problems until they had a player sent off.

Scottish teams don't compete in Europe because they are crap.  That's a depressing fact but it's not what we should be defining the club against.

I don't mind if we fire Alexander and bring in someone better.  But I think our fans need to think very carefully about that.  Alexander has a 7th and 5th place finish in two seasons.  Are you really that confident that the next guy does better?  With this squad of players?  With our finances? In our league? What if the next guy does worse?  What if he gets us relegated?

Fans need to give it a break with the moronic raging two games into the season in a competition that we pretty much had no chance of going further than qualifying rounds.

Respect your opinion pal as always but we can't carry on like this, that is not a team that is fighting for their manager.  I can't see how things are going to improve with him in charge. However bang in 3 goals in 2nd half and I will be first to apologise

You think so? Not sure I agree with that to be honest.

I think we have the makings of a good team, especially with the "dead wood" that's been moved out. A few additions of starting-place quality and we'll be good to go I think.

I agree, we do have makings of a good squad and team if we played them in their natural position and a formation that suits them.  I reckon we need say 4 or 5. A left back is essential, 1 or 2 centre halves, a central midfielder and definitely another central striker

Just out of curiosity, what do you want him to say? With very few exceptions I've found virtually every manager media interview for most clubs through the years to be bland, by-the-book comments.

Of course, we all know that what he says to the media in public and what he's saying to the players in the dressing room is entirely different.

Always respect your views David even though our views of Alexander are different. I just find his interviews difficult to listen to as he doesn't seem to accept that his tactics aren't working and fact he seems to think we created a lot of good chances. At end of the day give me a scrappy 2-0 win tonight and progress to the next round

  4. Everyone has their own opinions on starting line ups and formations which is fair do's,, would be boring if we all had the same thoughts. I know the team I would like tomorrow but it will be hee haw near what Alexander picks. Qualifying is the priority but to do it with a good performance would be a good start

Quite pleased at this announcement, but he's not a player I'd build a long / medium term strikeforce around. Very talented, but he's too inconsistent in various ways.

Yep agree with this.  I like KVV but too selfish at times and workrate questionable at times.  I feel fact he is guaranteed a start when fit can sometimes work against us as he hasn't got anyone on the bench threatening to take his place. However when fit and in the mood and avoiding stupid bookings he is definitely an asset

  6. Over the years there have been managers a lot worse than Alexander, Hynd... Watson...Kampman (jeez!!), Malpas (jeez Part 2), McGhee (2nd spell)

As I have said before the problem with Alexander is he is just a guy I find hard to take to. I don't expect a 'hey guys, how's tricks ' but I do expect a manager who at least gives impression he is trying his best to improve us.  When Robbo left it was the right decision but at least with Robbo there was a side to him where he genuinely was trying everything but alas it just wasn't happening.

There could well be a different side to Alexander that we don't see and he has the players all on board but I am not convinced. Don't have any evidence, just my own personal hunch.

At this moment in time my wish is I wake up on Friday morning knowing we are in the next round.....COYW

  7. Let's see what happens after Thursday, if we are still in competition it buys him some time but he really needs to up his game in my opinion.  As for post match interviews I have been critical as they really are insulting the fans intelligence, fans that pay a lot of good money.  We had over 7,000 on Thursday witnessing that performance. To then have your manager say we created '20 chances 'is a joke.  Again these are just my views and I know there are fans that think Alexander is wonderful which is their right but personally I feel change is required. We have a good squad but they aren't being utilised properly.... COYW

Sorry but a crucial must win European tie is no place to be trying out an academy player with very limited 1st team experience, so I hope he is nowhere near the team.

Must win yes ......no way Johnston will start but do we trust one step forward, two step backwards Carroll?  My opinion won't matter as guaranteed Alexander will start him

  9. 4 3 3 hasn't worked for ages so I would go for a 4 4 1 1 to start

    Kelly

    Mcginn.     Lamie megaphone sol .....SOD

    Spittal. Cornelius Slatter  morris

    Tierney

    KVV

I Know that won't happen but just my view. Feel sorry for SOD, takes so much stick but no as bad as made out by some. Is blatantly obvious Alexander doesn't rate him but mcginn is at least good replacement if SOD leaves.  It's a shame Alexander fails to recognise we have no left backs
