Wonder what position he’s playing, out on the wing or through the middle.
The over the top abuse he got was embarrassing.

Yep totally agree, I know he didn't look like a player at times but he didn't pick the team or the position he plays. I still don't think he's good enough at spfl level but the stick was ridiculous

Not only that, but any regular viewer of the EPL or English Championship will be served up their fair share of mince. Sky is just better at convincing you it's steak.

Sky totally overhype the English leagues, and don't start me on Martin Tyler saying.....AND IT'S LIVVEEEEEEEEEEEE", naw Martin sometimes it's just plain average

Had the same against St Johnstone, a group of female's absolutely cheering and booing when KVV was subbed, but on Wednesday when he scored and later on when he was replaced, lauding him like a world beater. W-m-n what do they know.

Tell you what, the Boos would ring out around the east stand if my mates dropped me in it and revealed my identity, so you're grizzly??....BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Lol

  4. Obviously we don't know starting xi or subs for Sunday but can I just put out an appeal that we don't actually boo any of our own players?

Just my own view but I found it embarrassing to hear SOD being booed when he came on. Now I don't know the lad personally but apart from not playing well I don't know what he has done to cause so much anger amongst some fans unless I am missing something.  If players playing badly then booing them isn't exactly going to help.

Anyway let's create a great atmosphere on Sunday and hopefully get another great result.

  5. We have went from a great 3pts to "aye but we played rotten", the points was the priority.

I don't think kettlewell is the long term solution as I think a couple of bad results and folk will be lik ",aye..told ye so"

However what I will say is he spoke very well, he tweaked the formation to balance the opposition and he was animated on touchline and had more of an idea than Hammell who looked like a rabbit in headlights on the touchline.

At this moment in time I am not expecting flowing silky football. We need points and to move up the table so deal with that part first. If Kettlewell can get us on a run then we all be smiling. I would rather have him than Holloway which just looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Grant McCann would be my choice as a decent record down south and hopefully lots of contacts. I know I can hear folk comparing him to Alexander but we have no idea what style of football he would bring.

  6. Just a suggestion, with Jack Ross pulling out as he doesn't feel right time to return to dugout and was focussing more on Sporting Director role.

Could there be scope about asking him to take over Burrows role? We could slightly rejig it to focus more on footballing side.

    Just thinking out loud

I was actually hoping we might have got Tony Watt back in the January window but fuck me based on last night how wrong could I be. I also don't get the narrative he's not match fit. He's been in training every week the whole season. He has gone backwards by quite some measure since he left us.....

Yep agree totally, obviously better off financially but just looks like a player that has lost his enthusiasm

Look at Obika's contribution to the first goal and when he played in Aitchison towards the end. I thought he was very good overall.

Obika not played many games recently so still getting up to speed. I don't see him as a target man as better with ball played to feet.  Also impressed with young Aitchison when he came on, looked lively and good to have options at last in forward areas

He is playing. I just pointed out that he's started five of a possible eight games, and has played a role in every game since his return. I could understand the concern if we'd brought him back and he'd sat on the bench as an unused substitute, or had played ten minutes here or there for the majority of those games but that's not the case.

We've played four games in two weeks. He's started two of them. And in the two he was a substitute he came on after 27 minutes and 45 minutes. It's not about how well he's been playing, it's about game time management. It happens at lots of clubs, and especially with younger players where the impetus is in bringing them on but not burning them out.

I guarantee that if he keeps performing as he is we'll see him start more and more games as the season goes on.

Fair do's pal.  Let's hope we get him to sign a new contract

I could understand that line of thinking if he sees more bench time than starts in the coming weeks and months. I wasn't meaning you in my reply by the way, as it was others who were saying it beggars belief that Johnston has been benched a few times.

I think starting five out of eight since his return isn't too bad in all honesty, and will hopefully increase as the season progresses. He's only turned 19 I think, and I'm sure the coaching staff will be keeping a close eye on him to ensure that he's given the correct amount of game time and isn't "overplayed" to any extent.

On the contract front we should absolutely be doing all we can to get him tied down on a deal that reflects his position as the future in his position.

Beggars belief aimed at me then?

I was only giving an opinion same as yourself David . I am fully aware Hammell recalled him and had started games. My main gripe was the recent games where he was sub despite playing well.

For me he is first choice right back. If people want to disagree then fair do's, all about opinions

  11. Oh well how good was that tonight?  Miles better certainly from effort perspective but frustrating that effort wasn't their in previous games, anyway moving on.

Goss Spittal and KVV miles better for effort with Spittal excellent.  Butcher and Casey look really good no nonsense signings and young furlong came onto a game. Johnson and Cornelius loads of effort.  Obika for a big man doesn't jump well but good on the ground.  Loved Kelly doing his Allan McGregor impression and time wasting.

My one negative was the booing when SOD came on. Jeez get a grip, I know he hasn't been playing well but are we at the stage where we boo guys wearing our own jersey!! Come on.

And I hope buddies are paying Watt's full wage, jeez a shadow of the player that played for us
