Penney has been a great signing, we actually have a proper left back after enduring Carroll and McGinley before that though I must stress I feel for them with their injury problems, I just don't rate them as players and wish them a speedy recovery
-
I still believe in Hammell and certainly no way do I feel we are worse off than when Alexander was in charge. It was always going to be a long term project. What is costing us big time just now is the basics which some players seem incapable of doing. I think fact the past 2 games have been against 2 teams I absolutely detest haven't helped my mood.

First of all Sellik are a class above so result didn't surprise me and the manner of goals we are now conceding is an absolute joke. We really need to start picking up points and quickly and there are players out there that need to up their game.. Slattery totally off form just now, Shields just runs about and doesn't actually do much and I know this will upset some as they think he is the messiah and I of course know of his goals tally but KVV really needs to start looking interested instead of just lumbering about the pitch at half pace. We need someone pushing for his place to keep him on his toes. COYW

Relieved Lamie fit and happy seeing Spittal in for Morris. Shields doesn't inspire me but hope he can prove me wrong, wee last minute winner Connor would be nice...COYW

If Morris can score the winner tonight then all is forgiven, no pressure Josh

Alexander is no longer at the club, we move on. Yes results not been great recently but give Hammy time, was never going to be an overnight turnaround... COYW

It's probably just my age, but I think I'd struggle to consider a league cup quarter final win against anyone to be famous.
If we can beat a high flying Celtic side I will certainly regard it as a great victory, we don't get chance to celebrate many big wins so I am hoping for a miracle tomorrow
-
I wasn't going to go but changed my mind and forked out £22 today for a ticket, I must be bonkers but would be raging if I missed out on a famous win, I honestly can't see it happening but you never know, COYW

Watched highlights to see if goals were as bad as I first thought to then discover they were worse!!!. The first goal is an absolute joke with 5 of our players not capable of putting in a challenge. The 2nd yet another howler from big bevis as nowhere near his man. He is a cracking big guy but hopefully Lamie injury not bad as if we are having to rely on Sol and Bevis as a partnership it really gives me the fear

First goal an absolute embarrassment. Sick and tired playing average Gers sides and bottling it. And can I just say McGregor is the most horrible character in Scottish fitba

Hope to be proven wrong but with Tierney, Morris and McKinstry starting, we look very light on players that are good out of possession. Would deffo have had Cornelius in over one of them.
Yep would have had Deano in ahead of Tierney as we need graft in that midfield engine room

Josh fucking Morris starts

No Moult either, not even on the bench so take he’s injured.
Been hugely impressed with Hammell so far but that decision beggars belief,

Any points against this mob would be most welcome, after today thats us completed our first full set of fixtures against all opposition. I don't think we have conceded a penalty kick as of yet this season but as per confident they'll get one. I see the ref today is the guy from bargain hunt, David Dickinson normally it's one of the well known crew such as Collum that takes charge of a game whenever one of the arse cheeks play.
I think Rangers have a few players missing especially defensively, after there midweek exploits I hope we can pile on the misery and reset that not won a league fixture against them in 20 years clock.
Yep guaranteed Gers get a cheap as chips penalty with David Dickinson in charge........awwwww FFS!! Someone has beaten me to it again!!! COYW

My head says we will bottle it yet again, my heart says surely the jinx has to end plus goldson and Jack came off injured tonight , Liverpool 2nd half was an absolute masterclass

The Cobra was awesome, I have VHS video tapes I need to convert to DVD as had lot of highlights from 1993 to 1995. Some of Tommy's goals awesome, the 2 v sellik at Hampden in league as Parkhead being renovated and his chip at pittodrie in 3-1 win, awesome
-
The penalty decisions can go for against you, stonewaller yesterday but to be honest we had soft ones v Livingston and Dundee utd. Hopefully VAR will make a difference with those decisions
-
Watched highlights this morning, definite penalty we should have had and now many attempts did Shields make a mess off before finally hauling down Porteous!!

I see where you’re coming from but when did we come close to a result like that at home against Aberdeen? I know we won 3-0 at Pittodrie in September 2020 but our recent home results in that fixture have tended to be tight. If anything that result tonight will work against us when we face them in two weeks time, as they will be fired up to prevent a repeat.
Beat them 2-1 in cup last season

Shouldn't be fearing Aberdeen, pumped tonight

One thing we are good at is being consistent at being inconsistent

Opening gambit is a pretty sweeping statement. Suppose for those that understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not, no explanation is possible will be apt.
Nobody saying there’s to be no criticism, what’s the justification? ‘Cause the vociferous support in all things Motherwell doesn’t conform to how some of the Christmas trees in our fan base see they should? There’s plenty who defend them, myself included, who have also criticised and those involved will admit this - it should be constructive though, not dismissive.
Think we can be spared the mock outrage that irks more than a few. Some of the claims against that section of support are spurious at best yet, some can’t wait to get on various platforms to show ire. Don’t get me started on the midnight masses and part time detectives who bombard the club regularly with names…
If you read my posts over the years I have given the lads plenty praise as well and like I also said my mates lads are part of the section so I know fine well a lot of the hard work and effort that goes on. I was just merely highlighting that there is a small element that can be disruptive. That can't be helped and all teams have same issues. I would like to think that I am always constructive.
Anyway we move on and hopefully we are all celebrating a well victory tomorrow...COYW

SLC quarter final Motherwell v Celtic 19/10/2022

Watched highlights and taking nothing away from Sellik as there is no denying they are an excellent side but what I can't accept are the cheap goals we keep conceding.
1) Shields not tracking the run of Taylor, his tracking back is as good as his ability to cross a ball!!
2) good finish from Abada but bizarre punch from Kelly for 1st save, but Kelly keeps us in games almost every week so odd mistake will happen
3) good skill by Hatate but Lamies attempt at tackling him shocking but again another player who has been playing well most weeks
4) words fail me so not even worth discussing
