Just curious, what's a flying anorak?

I was thinking the same, reminds me of the time someone on the forum didn't like my jokes and called me a "dry lunch", which reminds me.....it's 6 cream crackers and 2 ryvitas later on for my lunch break!! Lol

Swindon win their first match after the departure of their Head Coach 5-0. The team was being taken by 2 of the coaching staff, the first named being Gavin Gunning.

My abiding memory of Gunning was the 35yarder off the crossbar in the cup final of 2011, ahhhh if only an inch lower

Apparently that was the reasoning for staying in Scotland with Celtic originally. I don't think it would do any harm to ask the question but I think we would be more likely to get someone that rarely features such as Welsh or Montgomery (obv away to St Johnstone).

It's going to be an interesting few weeks.

Yup, if we don't ask we will never know

And how do you know Dean hasn’t got a great engine? Point being made is getting him in the team regularly would be a start. Dress it up how you like, Allan Campbell had lengthy dips in form -persevered and tolerated mistakes when they inevitably happened - Dean hasn't really had the same opportunity, so plenty are unsure how good he is or could be.

Been saying the same for a while. Needs a run of games. Was same last season when Alexander brought him in for the big games v old firm then next game back on bench.

Yep. As I’ve said elsewhere, Hammy’s seemingly blind allegiance to the supposed senior professionals will see us relegated.

Yep, when Hammy came in it was all about giving youth a chance and he even brought young Spiers on in his first game in charge. Since then we have hardly seen any, I am really hoping he gives Max Johnston a run and I would give Lennon Miller a try even initially 25mins off the bench.

I know folk always say we need experience but it's the experienced lads that have put us in this mess.

Again I know folk will disagree but that's just my opinion.  COYW

Young Cornelius might not be world class, but there's a good player in him. I don't think he's been given a fair chance given some other midfielders who get picked regardless. He's also not been played to his strengths. That's all down to management.

I agree pal, I would have him in team ahead of spittal and Goss who is creating hee haw at the moment

We lose our first team left back. Okay let’s not go out and replace him with the wages freed up with a competent left back let’s do what we’ve done so far and let back up players take starting spots which have gotten us into this mess.

On Penney he’s been outstanding best left back we’ve had actually since hammell hung up the boots. Maybe with an exception of his last 2 games but playing next to lamie will make anyone look poor.

Hi pal, I will happily see us sign a replacement left back, my point was only based on what we have in the squad.  Personally I wish we could turn back the clock 30 years and get another rob McKinnon, legend

SOD or McGinn that have been part of the problem and rotten but yeah let’s play them on their weak side. This isn’t a time to play players in positions that could fit in or do a job get in the correct players.

So who else would play left back then if Penney is away? I don't think it would be fair playing young Johnston there , let him play on his natural side. I was only looking at our current squad and what options were for left back

  10. There is negativity in the stands and yes some right wallopers that shout at anything but I feel the team also have a part to play. Yesterday difficult to judge as conditions horrendous.

I want Hammy to turn this around but he isn't doing himself many favours. Far too loyal to some players who clearly should be dropped, we can all see it but for some reason he can't or is it a case he is too nice a guy to be a manager?

Arbroath game is huge and a defeat could be the end for Hammy but let's not think about that scenario yet, let's see how next week turns out.

Blaney has to start, it can't be any worse than what we currently have. I am not a Sol fan though he did make 2 good late blocks yesterday, Lamie has went downhill but we don't have any other options. 1 of them has to start with Blaney alongside him.

I would also throw Maldron in next week, a big 6'3 striker not a bad option against a physical Arbroath side.  COYW

  11. A horrible watch in horrible conditions, hey why all the negativity? We actually moved up the table!! Joking aside it was disappointing but positives to take from McKinstry and Johnston. It's going to be a hard slog but 17 games left and we need fans to stay on board. If teams come to fir park and atmosphere is so negative it plays into opposition hands.   COYW

  12. Time for rallying call for tomorrow. A lot been said over past week but tomorrow we all need to be united and get right behind the lads. The players don't pick the team so if certain players start then there is no point berating every mistake they make, that ain't going to help matters.

If our fans start getting unsettled early doors it plays right into the hands of Ross Co.  We need to create a great atmosphere as this game is massive.

And yes at same time the players need to show they are up for it and not pull out of tackles or look disinterested. If they show the passion and commitment then the fans will get right behind them.

    Altogether now.......COMMMMEEEE ONNNNN YEEEEEE WELLLLLLLLLLLL

Stockport County are mid table in League 2.

I have a mate who watches them a bit and says he was pivotal in their promotion from the conference last year. He is surprised they were willing to let him go out on loan.

Not saying that means he will be any good. But I certainly wouldnt right him off at this stage.

Whoops sorry pal, thought they were still non league
