Hammell starts with my support like every other Motherwell manager but we've basically swapped out an experienced manager with a track record for an inexperienced manager with no track record and I think that highlights that no high quality candidate wanted to work with our squad, budget and toxic fan base.

When you fire someone you should have a plan to bring in a replacement.  I don't think we did and the club has meekly folded to the idiotic knee jerk roasters in our support.

Hopefully it works out for Stevie, the club and my season ticket investment but I think he has a very, very hard job ahead of him.

Don't think it's case of club folding in, yes some of the fans in past few months been ridiculously OTT but change was needed, this wasn't just about Sligo, it is whole of 2022 form, etc etc. But everyone has their own views.

Hammell certainly saying the right things and hopefully will back them up with results and good signings. I will certainly give him the time to hopefully achieve this..COYW

  2. As with every appointment it will divide opinion but what we do have is a manager that knows the club inside out and already identified the problems we have.

What we as fans need to do is give him a chance and realise this isn't going to be a quick fix. Let's get right behind him and the team and cut out the idiotic shouts at games. So many "experts" at the games that seem to know what team should be doing.

Happy enough with Hammell but seems safe option from club but I am prepared to give him a chance, a man that played over 500 times for us and one of the all time legends....COYW

Good thing about Valakari is that the Finnish league concludes in just a few weeks, so could potentially keep Hammell on in the interim and avoid having to pay out compensation.

If that was case would Hammell be happy taking charge of a team for a job he didn't get? Again let's just see what happens

What a feckin ridiculous comment to make on someone's mental health issues, so now he's wild, aggressive, unstable and out of control ffs.

Supporting Mental health issues  is something Motherwell as a club are very strong on and something our fans should be proud of irrespective of who it is.

    Agree totally mate

Team time. Getting harder each week. This would get us the 3-1 win.

Ummmm let's do something a bit different.

    Kelly

    McGinn Mugabi Sol

    O'Donnell Slattery Goss Spittal Cornelius

    Van Veen  Coyne/Arnott

Instead of Bevis can we get big Shaun "Heid" Hutchinson back for one game? His last game for us in 2014 up there was memorable.....as was Craig Reid's winner from 5 inches

I think so as well. It was always a dodgy situation allowing the manager to surround himself entirely with his own backroom team. While it may seem like a good thing at the time to back the manager, it also means if and when he goes they all follow.

I'd like whoever comes in to have Hammell installed as the assistant, with Kerr moved up to take on the job Hammell had with the youths.

Hoooo get your own suggestions!! That's what I said!! Lol, only joking pal

I am all aboard the Simo train now with Hammell as number two like someone said above.

Kups sitting top of the league and the man Is willing to leave that and come to our shit mountain to sort us out. That shall do for me that shows me he wants to give it a good go.

Ps think Nick Daws needs to go to make this work properly.

Fact Simo keeps applying tells me how much he wants to make a go of this. I am warming to the idea and yes with Hammell no.2 and put Brian Kerr in charge of academy.  See what happens

  so we need a new manager, a decent left back a holding midfielder,  a prolific striker and now a forum joke teller, that was bad even by your standards.

Sorry pal, Barrel was well scraped with my last attempt!!

    • Thanks 1
  9. Watching closing ceremony of commonwealth games last night and I noticed the athletes were walking in a 4 3 3 formation..... then I realised it was coming from the Alexander Stadium!!..... sorry folks

  10. The Alexander/ O'Donnell debate has ran it course now.  Regarding SOD I don't quite get a lot of the views but each to their own, definitely had a poor spell last season but I feel with right manager could flourish. As with all clubs you have players that take criticism and others can do no wrong, just my view but I feel that with Van Veen, yes scored lots of goals last season but also done plenty wrong and very selfish and lazy at times, but that is why he is with us and not at a higher level, but at same time when in the mood he is a huge asset.  It's all part of being a well fan.  COYW. PS. well that was full speech without one joke.......... Knock Knock...(who's there)........lol
