  1. Jon mentioned in his video interview today that you were definitely in for him, as were some other SPL clubs. It seems he went with the advice of our manager and chairman over those trying to persuade him it was in his interests to move up to Scotland.
  2. Profile Young right winger from our youth setup who made the breakthrough into the first team this season with a real bang, scoring 4 times in his first 3 starts. He's out of contract but has been offered a new deal by the club, he looks a top class prospect who we would be gutted to lose. Sky Sports It would be extremely frustrating to lose out on a fee for another youngster due to a crazy loophole after this happened with Chris Humphrey just a few years back.
  3. Jon Taylor rumours Any rumblings up your way over this?
  4. Terry Dunfield is a hard working, fairly mobile but ultimately very limited centre midfield player. He's had his head filled with daft ideas by the Canadian manager about needing to play at a higher level to enhance his international chances which riled Graham Turner no end. He was shown the door with a year still to go on his contract with an agreement that he couldn't sign for another club in England. Unfortunately League 2 was Terry's level and he's simply not good enough to play at a higher level in the opinion of many. Good honest, hard working pro, but he offers precious little in the opposition half, he's a decent ball winner but a very average player in possession. He doesn't take set pieces and he very rarely scores, threatens to score or creates chances for others. He might do a respectable holding centre midfield job but i'd be amazed if he could hack it in the SPL.
  5. It's interesting to note that Celtic are reportedly having to pay compensation after signing Norwegian defender Thomas Rogne who was out of contract but aged 19. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-21981058/ I'm confused as to what the difference is between this transfer and that of Chris Humphrey in terms of compensation being paid? I thought the reason compensation was not payable in the case of Chris Humphrey was due to the transfer being classed as international, i.e. between different Football Associations?
  6. You've made a good signing in Chris Humphrey but don't expect too much too soon as he's way off being the finished article, and don't take too much notice of internet stories linking him with Premiership clubs as I don't think they have much, if any, real substance. He's very quick and his crossing is decent having improved greatly last season but he is still very limited in other ways. If he gets the ball in space and already on the move he looks very dangerous but one on one with a fullback, particularly when play has slowed, he rarely beats his man due to lacking the necessary trickery you would expect from a winger. He did manage to score a couple last season but he normally has the look of a rabbit in headlights when presented with a goalscoring chance. Gannon has a very good record for developing young talent and there is a more than good chance that he'll develop Chris into an even better player. Simpson spoke about the transfer on our website this morning and he's obviously far from impressed with Humphrey's conduct and his agent's conduct this summer. It appears we may be entitled to compensation under FIFA rules but this has yet to be clarified. http://www.shrewsburytown.com/page/NewsDet...1723851,00.html All the best.
