Why is it a mental comparison? SFA = Scottish Football Association. English FA = English Football Association. Same organisation, different country.

He has had that up for a while, In my opinion the SFA should be helping ex players who are out of the game due to injury anyway, the English FA do it. He was obviously a player who gave his all for the club and now he has fallen on hard times. Depression is a terrible illness, and alcoholism does not help. He also has problems with his knee which caused him to retire, so he could also be in chronic pain. Medication for depression and pain killers taken with alcohol is not very good for his mental state either. As for flute bands, he is from Northern Ireland, that is part of the culture there, (and here to some people). We shouldn't give jobs to guys just because they are ex players but we should be helping ex players who have obvious problems. A wee bit of understanding and compassion for the guy who scored THE BEST Motherwell goal I have ever seen (plus he elbowed Peter Grant in the mouth). He will always be a hero to me.

I have found loads of places in Heerenveen now. They don't call them pubs they call them cafes.

Is there nothing in Heerenveen other than the football ground and the ice rink? I am only there for one night but I will be looking for a bite to eat and a pint or two.

We're staying in Heereenveen on Thursday, Langezwaag is only 15 minutes away. Moving to Amsterdam on the Friday for a couple of days.

I am going to Heereenveen on the train via Eurostar, Brussels and Schipol airport. I contacted Heerenveen and they said the game is being played in Langezwaag. Reply from them, "Langezwaag is not our training ground, it’s a small village near Heerenveen which has a training complex. The village is about 6,8 km from Heerenveen. I think that’s a little too far to go on foot. You can rent a car or a bike, or go by bus if you want. From the bus station there’s a bus to Langezwaag every 30 minutes. This will be bus line 20 and bus line 21. We hope you’ll enjoy your stay in Heerenveen".
