  1. Personally think it'll be McGhee, or most likely Craigan. Think if we win tomorrow Craggs will fancy it, and if we don't he'll probably think the stress isn't worth it and keep his cushty number at BT.
  2. Other than when we play Dundee Utd, Aberdeen, Hearts, St Johnstone or Accies.
  3. I've backed Baraclough at most corners since he's came in, even though It's clear he's out of his depth and plays the most turgid football I've ever had the displeasure of viewing. Think it's mainly because I reckon he's a decent fella, but this isn't a popularity contest. I feel so sorry for all the fans who've travelled down there tonight. I mean Greenock really is the arse end of Scotland - I've only been there once and it's rates as the wettest, coldest, shitiest place I've been to this side of Airdrie. All that travelling to a shitehole, probably rushing home from work, skipping dinner and getting stuck in fitba traffic to watch this dick play a 4-5-1 with Jake fuckin Taylor stealing a wage out out in the middle of the park? He needs to go, no ifs, buts or maybes.

    Jake Taylor

Think we can all agree that Taylor is a player who should be nowhere near our starting 11 on current showing. He's only here cos we shat it that we wouldn't get anyone else, like when you pick up the munter at 2:30am up the point on a Saturday night. But I don't agree with slagging the clubs transfer policy too much. I'm not Barras biggest fan, and I know he said he's all for youth previously, but it's clear he doesn't think any of them are ready for the first team. He's brought in some players who are short term fits, but I think that's due to the pressures on him to get results. The guys jobs on a shoogly peg so I can see why he would do that. Moult, fletcher, Kennedy, Laing, Chalmers and grimshaw all look like good signings. clarkson, Robinson, Taylor and Samson - well the jury's definitely out. They say any club only has a 50% success rate for good signings, and it seems that rings true for our summer dealings. Barras problems isn't the players he's signed though, it's the fact he's trying to shoehorn said players into a system that isn't working, and not having the flexibility or nouse to change it. The sooner he grows some balls and starts making the most of his squad then his peg might get a little less shoogly.
  5. Nearly left at half time on Saturday (wish I did) and will probably stay away this Saturday. It's got accies hammering us all over it. Had too many nightmare shows there and it's clear our team have no dig, no leaders and no baws. Apologies for the pessimism, been too optimistic during Barras reign and been let down too many times. Would love to be proved wrong though and go out and scud the wee bassas 5-0
  6. Just a side note in no direct relation to any comment - I've read a lot of articles from a guy named Paul Tomkins from the Tomkins Times, who is a journalist mainly penning about Liverpool, although a lot of his work is based around transfers. His research suggests that of all the signings that are made by any club, the 'success' rate is around 50%. Even Mourinho and Fergie were at this rate. To rate a manager or the success of all their signings is daft. No excuse for Anthony Straker though
  7. Brilliant analysis. This is the most frustrating thing about this season. We undoubtedly have the players for a top 6 finish - however we haven't applied the system for the. To flourish. 4-4-2 with two out and out wingers isn't working. I think it can work, maybe away from home against a better team (ala ibrox last season) or when the opposition is coming at us (playoff 2nd leg). That being said - the one thing we do need for that to really work well is a combative, athletic midfielder like Pearo. That's why what we've been trying to hasn't worked since ICT away. Baraclough needs to show more tactical flexibility and also some balls to drop current under performers such as Marvin and Skippy. I think a 4-3-3 which can change into a 4-5-1 when we're defending would work well with the players we have. If you think that's daft, Bear in mind I won Boys Brigade 5 a side coach of the week twice a few years ago so I'm well educated In the efficacy of tactical systems ;-)
  8. Can't even praise a guy without getting accused of being his Da. Get your facts right, I'm his brother!
  9. I wasn't at the game and won't watch the highlights as by all accounts there was nothing good to see. One thing I do know now is that I'm Louis Moults biggest fanboy. The guy exudes every attribute that should be crucial for a Steelman. Class, humility, works hard and can find the net. Easy to see why the Wrexham fans were so sad to see him go. If we can keep a hold of this guy I think he has the potential to go down as a club legend.
  10. Fair to say that was an close call - certainly nothing to brag about but we got the result and when we look back in a few weeks time that's all that matters. Much rather that than out in a good performance and come away with nothin ala Dundee Utd and the Aberdeen. If we beat killie on Saturday then we can really look to kick on and put a run together. That's a big if though. In the meantime I'm not going to start getting involved with Barra bashing. At the end of the day we're all Well fans, and we'd do well to back the man in charge until the board decides his days are numbered. Negativity, especially in the stands, will do nothing but breed a shite atmosphere and that's not good for anyone. Even if you don't think he's the man, get behind the team on Saturday and let's get intake these.
  11. The worrying thing for me is that I'm not sure a change in personnel or tactics will make the blind bit of difference. We're unbelievably unbalanced as a team. The spine of our team *should* be excellent but when some of our key players are injured or off the boil (ie Pearson, skippy, McManus - and with not strength in depth in CM) it makes the holes in our side so prevalent. I'm not going to berate the guy any further than I already have but I'll hang my hat on this guy Taylor being a piss poor signing - with Barra certain to stick with him ala Straker. Can't stand all this patter of him being an internationalist in a top ten side. By that logic, Djibril Cisse the Champions League winner was a better player than Cantona. Not looking good. need a major shake up and some arses skelped.
  12. I'm afraid 4 defeats on the bounce isn't good enough. It would Instill me with more faith if we were addressing the clear issues we have, which is pretty much the whole back 5 and the two centre mid positions. What's more annoying is the fact that we can't hold onto a win - or even scrape a draw if the other team get back into it. Pish. Ragin. Need a dramatic change pronto. Ps - jake Taylor can pack his boots and head back down the M74. He's pish anaw.
  13. Looking forward to this one - even though I'm less than positive of a win. My hunch I think is a 2-2 draw and I think I'd be happy with that. Anything to end this buckin losing streak. Think we will start with the same team as the last two matches although if so we will certainly get outmuscled in the middle of the park like last week. Keeping the faith though. Get intake them!
  14. Was at the game today, had to bottle up some rage before posting - but that today summed up this current motherwell squad. I'll start with the things that weren't within our control - namely that wee scud book willie Collum. I'd consider myself fairly level headed and look at football from a balanced perspective - so I can say with confidence it isn't my claret tinted specs that bring me to my decision that he's the worst referee out of a very bad bunch in Scotland. How this guy can be seen as our leading ref is beyond me. It's clear he's never played the game, in fact I'm certain he was the last to get picked in the playground, before the team that was left with him decided they'd be better off a man down and telt him to go and play with the birds. I'll say no more other than he obviously loves the sight of his own wee rat face that he tries to make as many poor decisions so he can get his mug on sportscene more than once. Now on to our own showing. All in all, we didn't play badly - but we certainly didn't play as well as a home side with top 6 ambitions should. The new guy in midfield is not terrible, but I'm confident we won't be willing him back after his loan expires. A passenger at best and I can't see what he brings to the table more than jack Leitch, who in my opinion has the tools to be a good player. Johnson had an off day and probably should have been subbed earlier, and his replacement Thomas did more in an attacking sense in 20 mins than the rest of the team put together. Everyone else was average other tha Louis Moult who I thought was outstanding. The podcast guys touched on our lack of mettle last season and I think that still rings true. Need some more warriors in the side. Actually we need 'A' warrior in the side. Our problem is not that we get beat occasionally (or more than occasionally!) - it's that we cannot, under baraclough, even grind out a draw. It's either win, or get beat. I still think he's the right man - however the tactics obviously need changing. A draws not ideal but at least it stops our opponents gaining ground. Anyway, it was a horrible start to the season fixture wise (the cynic in me says the SFA are still reeling at how we pummelled The Rangers) so handed us a shiter of a start. Onwards and upwards though, looking forward to the next match to put it right.
  15. I like Barra but from what I see I think he tries to be too cute sometimes. I felt against United we started well - then for some reason Barra switched positions of Chalmers and Johnson - I felt after that we lost our impetus and let Utd back into the game. Sounds like tonight he's tried to tinker with tactics and be too smart. We should stick to what we're good at - which the evidence shows is high pressing, counter attacking football, especially away from home. Didn't sound like that's what happened tonight.
  16. First post - I'll try and be as positive as I can! Not going to get too critical - and not seen the game so can't really comment too much. The first few games were never going to be easy - but it seems like a repeat from last season under barra - we either win or get scudded. Seems we're too easy to turn over if we're not at 100% no matter who the opposition is. Hopefully we can get what would be a shock win on Saturday and kick on from their. If not a draw would be good but I'm not holding my breath. Ah well, let's keep the faith - in Barra I trust!
