  1. From what Robinson is saying it looks like unless there is movement (moult or bowman) then we are just looking at a defender. Note he's stopped talking about this pacy striker. Does that mean that the new u21 guy is actually the "pacy striker"?

  2. I am a fan of frear but have noticed that he never ever cuts inside and has a go.

He does two things - outside run and cross or stop and pass back.

In other words he would be easy to mark if the right back does their homework.

Maybe it's a confidence thing? To me he likes he's got all the necessary skills to do the job.

If we've spotted it I'm sure Robinson will have too!

  3. Tuton scored a fantastic goal in Stirling and his touch was excellent against Livingstone but he didn't get much of an opportunity. On what I've seen he looked like a talented player and more tidy than fisher - who will hopefully get better as he settles in. However the complete lack of mention after any of the games from Robinson and this repeated chat of a pacy striker suggests that Tuton has gone. I would be excited if he was still in the frame though.

  4. Louis will leave this window.

My concern is McHugh - I want him signed on going forwards - he bossed the second half today - is committed and is a real captain.

Also was confused why Sean Toutan's trial went largely unnoticed - amazing goal, superb touches - made fisher look like a few levels below. What happened?

  5. I think clay must be working out that the writing is on the wall. He played no minutes last night.

McHugh, bigi, Campbell, McLean and Gordon - all ahead of him!

And yes Mcleans number one position is in the middle - McGhee played him out wide purely because he has pace.

McLean and Campbell were a great pairing at u20 level and both look like the believe they can play first team level.

  6. Very positive tonight.

I hate to say it but to me Tuton looks far more confident and composed than Fisher who missed an easy chance.

My guess is that Tuton may not fit within our budget unless someone is moved on fast.

Can we afford to have him alongside fisher, bowman, moult and the great Jacob?

  7. If Tait is fit for the next game and Robinson sticks with the same formation - what happens? Tait on bench? Cadden in same role? I note positive comments about lasley above - but could cadden do a job in the middle alongside Campbell this allowing Tait to play the wing back role? Perhaps too inexperienced a midfield pairing?

EDIT: With apologies to regular thread starter Yabba's Turd for stealing his thunder, with much to consider this seems like a good post to kick off a Dundee game thread...

  8. The word at signing zone is that Tait had an operation on Saturday and they are aiming to get him back ASAP and McManus is definitely out for the rest of the season.

My fear is that they will stick with "Zac attack" alongside Heneghan. If McHugh does go back to midfield then I have to say Pearo needs to go on the bench - Clay was way more involved than him at the weekend.
