  1. Very dangerous. I vaguely remember getting a bit mixed up at half time in a game against Hearts. Bottle of Four Crown in the hand and singing well songs, but soon realised I was in the Hearts side of the fence. Pretty sure I recall that the gate would be closed at start of second half, so I was stranded in there. My memory of events ends now, but I must half escaped some how, as almost 40 years later I am still alive. haha, Happy days.
  2. Joe Wark, what a great defender he was.
  3. Yes, just my poorly worded post. Just meant that covered end was the home fans end. I lived in Ayr for a couple of years in the late 70's and went to quite a few of their games , home and away. Had some brilliant days out as the fans I knew were very friendly, and liked a good bevvy before, during and after the game. Remember crossing the Clyde on a car ferry, that took only one car, to go to a match somewhere north of the Clyde. No idea where as the bevvy has made that a distant memory. Oh the good old days of the Four Crown and the Lannie wine. So many lost memories!!!
  4. Looks like Willie Pettigrew standing right at the back, top left. Surely not! Pretty sure that is the home end at Somerset Park, the covered end. The galvanised sheeted roof is at the turnstiles.
  5. Just googled and found it as I remember it being a 5 - 3 score line. 06.11.1971. League game Heron scored three, Jumbo Muir and John Goldthorpe got one each. Gosh what memories, I can clearly remember watching him run down the line in front of me when I was standing in the East Stand. Happy memories.
  6. Was that the game Brian Heron scored a hat trick for us. My memory not as good as yours!
  7. Spot on. Could not have said it better. The game plan was screwed by the eejit in the black. So pleased to see so many of us staying to show appreciation of the team.
  8. I'll be there too, but never been so concerned to see Thomson's smug smile when he sent our player off. I found it quite scary. He did it when he sent our guys off against St Johnston. Is it me?
