  1. i dont think it is dave martindale but i think we couldve done worse, has worked wonders with Livi.....a lot of it might be down to their pitch? but he gets teams working hard
  2. "Managing" people involves all sort of skills , most of which he doesnt posess,if you thought ga was divisive , you would be in for a shock with yer man i want someone who is going to be devoted to the job ....heard too much about lennon off the park and his other "interests"-- i think if the board do due diligence , he wouldnt even be considered Just to balance things up, kevin thomson, how invested in the job , would he be? Guys can support one of the old firm , but dont need to be promoting them every 5 mins
  3. just not worth the hassle of someone like that, he would get restless and bored pretty quickly , you dont need to like a manager , but the guy has had money before and he wouldnt have it now ..... i actually was happy to see ga get it before tom wright, i still think we got the best deal there...but his time has come and gone
  4. do you remember why the guy left hibs, no discipline, isnt the slightest bit interested in motherwell....he managed a team with a lot more money than anyone else , why would he do a job for us
  5. would rather have danny lennon and i am not joking
  6. too late, posted again before i read this.....lets come up with some names for new manager and get off the sod debate....ill go first....steven odonnell?
  7. not my definition or understanding of ostracise . anyway hopefully new mgr in soon, give posters something else to talk about and sod the chance to prove to me and others he can play.... .i can remember Robinson criticising him too after the euro game in Israel but that wasnt seen as an issue
  8. Ross co probably have slightly bigger budget than us and we finished above them....so would it really be worth poaching him
  9. I didnt read that article as him being ostracised, he was on the bench , so hardly the case. He wasnt made to train with youths or anything.Sod , as good as says in interview that maybe the manager was right to drop him, so that is fairly honest of him. I am still glad ga has gone as it clearly wasnt going well but things are seldom black and white
  10. i am not dismissing valakari, everybody deserves a chance but i read lee erwin is top scorer in finland......he wasnt the worst, but top scorer in the league?
  11. i know wullie colum takes a lot of abuse and its all totally justified, easy to blame refs when you lose but he seems to be a consistent factor for us. I disagree with sportscene pundits, i thought tierney shouldve had a pen, he " bought" it , but players do that all over the park and get a foul, defender got wrong side the sol one was a pen all day long, unfortunately these guys will misuse var and too
  12. different types of players but, at this stage , neither good enough....spittal to be fair has some experience and pedigree
  13. ironically i thought last week v st m , we were definitely in relegation bother, they are going to struggle and were much better than us. I dont think st are better than us , need to see goals lost back but, at least in 2nd half we showed some enterprise and hopefully with a few additions, we could be fine but the defence needs tightening
  14. was that the same fans who thought tom boyd, rab mckinnon were great full backs?
  15. also if we did run our leagues at different times to the english, there may be more tv money. interest etc but we have been saying it for years with no moves to change
  16. i think thatd be good, no frills but gets the best out of meagre resources
  17. how many mistakes did sod have to make before being dropped? I thought GA kept faith with him for a while before leaving him out...i am not a GA fan and glad he has gone ,but i doubt he left thes players out due to "spite" i wish him well tho
  18. thought sod cme on on sunday and looked quite good but at times was lucky to be getting in Motherwell team , never mind Scotland Woolery again was limited but had great pace, havent heard anything about supposed fall out? Slattery , there may be more to it than simply getting dropped That only leaves Watt, who has doubled his wages Not sticking up for GA but sometimes the truth is a whole lot duller than people want to believe
  19. did robbo not get us out of relegation bother after Mcghee and 2 cup finals and a 3rd place finish? so i suppose , in the main, he will be remembered fondly...
  20. sure i saw darren odea name mentioned....best i can say about that is unknown quantity....i wouldnt mind hammy being a number 2 , but his role at the academy is also vital, maybe moreso. i know these wont be popular and i will be shot down but some random names...dick campbell, dave martindale, craig levein, john mcglynn...not the most glamourous or charismatic and not youngsters list but all scottish and have proven themselves at various stages at smaller clubs
  21. prepared to give cornelius the benefit of the doubt, hes ok , but we need more than ok in the middle of the park see what a new manager/system can do for him...dont think we can salvage maguire, however.
  22. its what makes him a personality in his own mind
  23. judging on that game, they will finish above us...usually a happy clapper but we need some fresh blood, cant rely on kelly bailing us out every week Re midfielders, i dont think Maguire or Cornelius have got it to be creative, good players can slow it down and pick a pass.anyway we bagged 3 vital points
  24. I know it will initially be unpopular but is Craig levein a shout? Helluva lot of experience, bit tarnished by the scotland job , but what manager has gone into that job and been loved?
