  1. u r having a laugh ? Tavanier must love it up here , scores more goals than our forwards in a season from full back.
  2. if we can qualify for Europe in 4th or 5th place, I will say thats a result overall I've not been particularly entertained but if we are winning that takes the edge off. we have two winnable away games v County and United which will define our season The players and manager have got to be up for them, finishing 6th when a Europe place is up for grabs would be a big disappointment
  3. its in the dim and distant past , so I may be wrong ( tin hat on )but did he not write off a good bit of the money owed to him ?
  4. thats my thoughts , slightly clipped player first, but then did well to win ball, it really coukdve gone either way, don't think anyone could've complained if they didn't get it either but after he had sent a man off, he would've wanted to balance things. Wasn't overly bothered as we didn't deserve anything from game.
  5. just watched highlights, so have better view of incidents. think uts a red by modern standards , at one time you might have got away with that don't think its a pen but its a moot point really. carrol put in good cross for goal but once again turns his back on shot...one of the poorest defenders I've seen and heartless too .
  6. never been that impressed with devlin and if he is struggling to get in Aberdeen defence?? what about considine?
  7. don't know how you can say carrol is ok...costs us a goal every game and heartless...surely ga must see this especially as an ex international full back himself.
  8. I mind big " h " well, good touch for a big lad
  9. I honestly don't normally have it in for a player but carrol is dire and looks uninterested. He turns his back on the ball so often , doesn't engage with attacker, I think sod is best left back we have and he isn't great either
  10. there must be someone else who can play left back, as you say cost us again yesterday with yet another half hearted attempt at a tackle.
  11. come on the mahon, welcome to our Great wee club, robbie
  12. I don't mind Donnelly but if Robbo wants to bid for McGinlay, Carroll, O'Donnell we won't be hard to deal with, I will give Shields a chance until he is played in proper position and gets a season of full time under his belt.
  13. no harm to the boy , but he is an ok player and seems to miss a lot through injury, thats not his fault, but its not a world beater we are losing.
  14. nah, fans are fickle...IF we were to win next 2 and make top 6...I know , unlikely, fans would be back on board for a wee while
  15. I don't agree its down to tactics , the full back , carrol , in this instance couldve made more of an effort to close the cross down.i get that there is maybe an idea that 3 centre half's can defend crosses, but I doubt ga is saying just let them cross it , at ease.
  16. cos people keep saying it on here, thats probably where you heard it. I am not defending ga but maybe I doubt part of his tactics are to set up dundee players for a goal and numerous other mistakes ....slattery tbf , I don't understand.
  17. yep, mcginley would have been , it was his turn to let the cross in last week v hibs. Full backs , in general, are terrible, they don't even get forward either
  18. I am sure at least one or two members of board must come on here....I thought hibs performance was OK but thats been the exception....I was gutted when robbo went, it had been a journey , this is a journey also but with no direction, we have no 3rd place finishes or cup finals to trade against the awful football. Even if ga came out and said , we play this way because blah blah but he doesn't say anything in his interviews.
  19. would be nice see tierney, slattery, ohara, roberts, woolery all fitted in somehow, ga might as well go for it...I don't see him surviving another negative result
  20. but are we working hard? I didn't see any great pressing today, last week , yes, but that was like an end if season game.
  21. donnelky isn't the worst by a long way, who is actually doing themselves justice in that midfield?
  22. it was a horrible game to watch but even though we played very little football, we should never have lost it, st j are also an anti football team.
  23. this isn't meant to be funny but I would like ga to give us his philosophy on football, I e what does he say to players pre match . You used to get that from Robbo, about winning second balls etc. I just don't see that from ga, he surely doesn't say , knock it long and see what happens.
  24. I think if we lost to st mirren , next game, he would have to think about his future. When the crowd have turned against you , it is difficult to keep going. I usually back our managers but the football is horrible, the midfield needs a hand . Again we have list 2 goals from wide areas, I keep saying it, our full backs are lower league players.
  25. yep, great post. I don't usually see the point in moaning that rangers, celtic get the benefit of the doubt , its the way its always been, refs are influenced by crowds , whether they admit it or not. The tackle in the celtic game just compounds that, in saying all that, Roberts couldve walked if it had been the 70th minute of a feisty cup tie, it would have been easier to take , in the 1st minute, you just wanted a wee break and some perspective. It didn't happen and hope we get a break in the run in of the league, probably more chance of 4th or 5th place than winning Cup anyway. Anybody shouting some of the stuff quoted at Colum needs to stop going to football.
