Live the Dream - Play for Motherwell for the night - The Well Society
Shared it over on P&B but The 'Well Society are running another Live the Dream event
That's not what I said, the comparison was due to the fact that they went through an American investment proposal at a similar time that we did.
The last sentence of my post was aimed at the people (not aimed at you) that seem to believe that we need investment at any cost, there is room for investment but it needs to work for both parties.
I don't think anyone is suggesting that they're reinventing the wheel however they should be given credit where it is due for making more of what is infront of them, some thing that the previous board failed to do.
It's worth looking at how the Americans at St Johnstone are getting on, selling their stadium naming rights and only announcing it via the CEO's linkedin page at midnight, selling 3/4 of the stadium to the OF (moving ST holders, without consulting them) allowed there pitch to be massacred by a guy that has now pranced about Easter Road in a Hibs top after a 3-0 loss.
But aye. Well Society bad, investment good.
There's a few players who have been sold for decent fees that have done nothing with their careers - James Scott going for £1.75 million is the most obvious example..
Equally there's a plethora of guys have we've picked up from the wilderness and sold on for significant money - Kipre & Bair being the two most best examples of that recently.
As much as plenty of people like to complain, Motherwell's player trading over the last decade+ has been a roaring success.
Motherwell in comparison to our peers have received transfer fees they could only dream of.
St Mirren, Dundee & Killie are generally considered to be broadly similar sized clubs yet our numbers are on a completely different level to theirs.
There's probably a separate argument to be made about the gap widening between the OF & the rest and how we'll no doubt never see a team out with those two ever win the league again (or even get close FWIW). But that's a debate for another day.
It's not singling a player out to suggest that a guy that's onto his 5th manager in 5 seasons isn't performing. He gets done constantly defensively and is so poor going forwards.
Is Tam Courts not very Kettlewell-y?
Would be very surprised if it was any of the Davies, Lennon, Naismith (etc) type names that the bookies are chucking about.
