  1. I think we got the result we deserved when we played them in August today. THey were the better team until we scored but I was never that worried. But as Mark McGhee always says goals change games and Fitzpatrick's did. After that we played really well until we were 3-0 up. We then contained them well, sickened their mince with the fourth and we were satisfied and them resigned and it petered out.

  2. So basically we on to Mon 26th then Wed 28th then Mon 2nd and so on if its off on Wednesday. That one would be problematic for me but not impossible but its probably more problems than its worth. Though I'll be holding onto my ticket in case its rearranged again until its played even if it means I don't get the money back.

Temperature looks not bad for next few days but Rob Merchant of Doom McElwee said the cold stuff will be returning after the storms on Sunday - sounds concerning!

  3. I would think you are never any better than 50-50 for a game going on in Inverurie at this time of year, your odds will go up and down when you start to see the 5 day forecast, even then it can go tits up as on Wednesday/Thursday the forecast looked like the game would be shoe in on then Thursday night was miles colder all over Scotland than anticipated and that ended it. Never going to be certain until Wed afternoon mores the pity.

  4. I am in no way desperate to prove I am a bigger fan than anyone else

I think all you would have to do is stand up and you'd prove that one

Seriously though the Trust will represent a greater view of the support when they have more supporters on the board. Simplistic perhaps and it is of course not as simple as that but its no a kick in the erchie off it. Being honest I don't know enough about the Trust's politics to be disengaged from them but generally they seem to be trying to raise their profile, raise their membership and better represent us as a fanbase. If I mentioned the Trust a year ago next to nobody on here would even be able to tell you anything they had done now they can and to me that is progress.

  5. Oh it is, we have more games off than anywhere else. It costs us more to protect our pitch because of that monstrosity of a stand. The East stand is falling to bits. Aye we can plod along but we will fall behind. Not saying a hotel or conference is the only way to go but we need to generate another revenue stream because everyone else is doing it and football is not generating enough result will be other clubs will have more money than us and be better equipped on the football pitch. We stay at Fir Park with no other facilities, ten years from now we will be a middling first division team.

  6. Porter is a top striker who I have liked since day one, he has scored lots of goals for us. If he gets a move to a Championship side then we can't be churlish and deny him it, football players owe us feck all and as long as they play to their best when wearing our jersey then I'll never complain. Something for all his faults McDonald did and Porter does too.

Just a wee thought though, last season nearly all his goals were with his feet, this time a lot more have come from his head.

And after a thought a stat - every time Porter has scored this season we have won and every time Clarkson has scored we have lost.

  7. Fir Park is not fit for purpose. You see the money that Killie and Falkirk make from their hotels/conference facilities and the diversification that provides them and because of that teams like them will eventually leave us trailing in their wake. Add in the money we continually have to spend to maintain FP and to protect it from the elements its a huge drain of resource. I would much rather see Motherwell remain in Motherwell but I cannot see where we can do it and for me the only option for the long term good of the team is a move to Ravenscraig.

  8. Got to say him not starting doesn't bother me, however he should have come on for Porter the other night. It was likely that we were going to have to defend a corner/free kick at some point and if my choice was Sutton or Murphy in the box its a total no brainer. The fact that Hearts were pish meant we got away with it.

  9. Its amazing how bad you can make something look when you 1-0 up with three minutes to go. As others have said Saturday should be a day for the first 11 with no unnecessary risk. If they fully fit play, if any niggle or doubt then no. And if we can't win with that lot then we deserve to be out.

  10. Yet 'ANOTHER' penalty we should've had... I make that seven solid claims in the last five games.... A big fat NONE awarded :(

Think that one could have been a penalty rather than should. I'm not convinced there was much intent from Zaliukas. Goal was superbly built up, slight foul by Porter maybe but hey ho considering the pens we never got on Saturday that was probably deserved break.

  11. We were miles better and we were average. They were absolutely rancid, the foul throw in injury time being the premium example - and we fair made them pay for it as I don't think they got the ball in our half after that. Our final ball (or lack of it) will strangle us. O'Brien and Lasley on the wings just don't give you that and because of it for all the good play up until there we not creating enough chances for our play and it happened on Saturday as well and to a lesser extent v Inverness. Though Clarkson and O'Brien have given us a better balance in the team and Craigan has given us more assurance. We not brilliant yet but going the right way.

  12. We did a good job defensively today, that was the best Reynolds has played for months and the other four at the back were good as well. The second penalty was never a penalty in a million years, first one might have been - its all on the interpretation of intent and at the time it was soooo quick I wouldn't like to give a judgement. But I would say you have certainly seen them given. Over the game we probably did a bit more but to be honest we created precious little - a draw was probably a just result. And in my view away draws in the SPL are never bad - and I think that is our first one all season. Entirely satisfied atm though that may change when I see the pen decision again/

  13. Their winning run has to end sometime and I'm astonished they have won four in a row

I'm not - mainly cos they haven't (Falkirk scored afgainst them at the start of the run). It could go one of two ways. They could end up really up for it and winning or they could get nervous and bottle it. We'll be up for it and the belief back - have a feeling we'll not lose.

  14. Not really the point though. The SA offers me nothing as I would never choose to go on their bus (in no way a slight on what they do) and I would assume there is some sort of pre-requisite if you get a SA ticket for this you need to go on the bus. Kind of limits your day to the times of their buses (again not a slight just why its not for me). I just don't understand why, when I assume the vast majority of their members are also ST holders, they get the guarantee of a ticket. Would be perfectly happy if they could turn up with a SA membership card or a ST at FP for a ticket but just handing them to the SA, to me, is unfair.

  15. Thought it would be Inverness at the start and at the moment they don't look like they could beat anyone. Accies have a bit about them and McCarthy and McArthur have that bit of quality in the middle that so many teams lack. I stuggle to see ICT hitting 30 to be honest.

  16. I've missed three SPL games this season, once because I was ill, once because I was on holiday and once because I couldn't be bothered going to Ibrox. However the club only know of two away games I've been to because I had to go and buy a ticket and even then I bought tickets for other folks whose name was not taken so there is no way there is a full record of fans' away attendance. I don't know but I imagine the vast majority of members of the SA are ST holders and therefore they are as capable of getting up at the crack of yesterday as I was and for that reason I think they should have been given a few for members who maybe could not pay for a ST up front and hence don't have one or whatever but for them to be given as many as they were which is quite obviously less than travels with them to a league game at Falkirk is a kick in the nads to those of us who travel ourselves week in week out.

  17. Like Mitch, I'm not a member of the Trust though I think a lot of what they do is positive. If you feel they do not reperesent you the only way to change that is to get yourself as a member and then if you still not happy get yourself up for election for the board. Its a channel that is there and as long as they are you are not going to have an appointment of someone as a tsar as the club will say they have a Trust. The Trust is shaped by its members of which enyone can be one!

  18. Has to be the number 9 but if you are being petty he had two other great chances in first fifteen minutes that you really expect your top striker to do better with. Thought Klimpl and Fitzpatrick did a quietly effective great job which in return gave Hughes, O'Brien, Quinn and HAmmell room to play more offensively. Clarkson's industry was good - still feel there is more from him.

  19. Gave us width and pace that we have been lacking. I have watched the first half again on ALBA and counted his crosses and of the eight attempts, seven hit the first man and the eighth one was headed back to him which he lay back to Quinn who set up the second goal. However the width he created stretched their defence and gave Porter and DC more room on the box so I would say he is worthy of a start next week.
