You always speak sense pal, but I don't buy this "They're gonny be knackered efter 120 mins" ... tennis players do more than that. I'm not saying that the Hearts players are atheletes in the same mould as Andy Murray et alia, but they will be fit. They're going to give us a really hard time of it on Saturday and will be well up for it. If things go according to plan and the 3rd placed team take the place of Rangers in the Champions League, there will be a hell of a lot of money in the kitty (does anybody know how much?) and Hearts will want it as much, if not more than us. I would like to think that McCall has them fired up for this .... this is shaping up to being the most profitable season in the clubs history. We almost have it, I hope we dont throw it away.

Done. Best of luck pal.

They'll kick lumps out of him ... and won't get penalised by the ref.

As long as I've watched Motherwell (and that's been a long long time) we've always seemed to suffer the inevitable dip in form around the turn of the year. Admittedly, I don't get a chance to go to that many games these days, but the form will improve sooner rather than later. I'm not unduly worried. 'Mon the 'Well.

Going off topic, but I love your avatar Henry ... yon's a braw guitar.

I fully expect us to get royally humped on Sunday. Celtic are as poor as they've been for many years, but they're a wounded animal in my opinion. As poor as they are, I think they still have enough in their locker tto hump us. But when they do (and I hope I'm wrong) nothing will change for me. I'll still be proud of my wee team and what they've done so far this season. We have played some outstanding football so far, and if I'm right and we do get pumped, I won't be shouting for anyone to get dropped or McCall to get booted out. It's a work in progress situation ... after a few seasons of "make do and mend" at Fir Park, it looks as if we have a Manager who cares what happens on and off the park, and a team who will give 100% in every game - I couldn't go to Inverness, but it sure as Hell sounded as if the guys fought for everything. If we DO get beat on Sunday it won't be the end of the world, the players will be hurting and desperate to get back on track. Other teams WILL take points off the OF, and if we can keep playing the way we have been (although Hammel missing will be a real blow) we can look to more than a top six finish. 'Mon the 'Well.

This is a great post. We're sitting 3rd in the League, some of the players are having the inevitable dip in form (human nature) and yet we still won on Saturday. Give the players a bit of slack, they want to win as much, if not MORE than we want them to win.

I'll be more than annoyed ... I work in four Primary schools in Dunfermline / Rosyth with a LOT of Pars fans. I really want to wear my 'Well tie next week

Bruce Clelland. That is all.

I think he's gone. If he had been meaning to stay he would've signed before now. I've been wrong in the past though.

I work as a musician, so am away a lot of weekends. It's not sensible for me to pay out for a season ticket when I can only catch a few home games every season ... there must be other people in the same boat. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than doing what I do but having my weekends off. I would be the first in line for a season ticket for next season, I feel we're on the edge of something big with McCall as manager.

Totally agree. The guy has nothing to work with (in financial terms), has still brought in a couple of quality players, is still only less than three months int his job and still gets the blame for us not being Barcelona. This is a work in progress, give the guy a break and enjoy todays result. 'Mon the 'Well!!!

Make no mistake, this is a MASSIVE win for us. Recent results (Rankgers game aside) in which we were unlucky to be beaten, a drubbing in our last game, some supporters not happy with the new manager/ass. manager/signing, playing against our last management team (who shat on us), etc. etc. Well done to the team and management for a truely great win at a tricky gound. Any chance we can use one goal from the game today and bank three for the next round?

He said himself that he didn't have the skillset to be Motherwell manager ... he's doing a splendid job with the youth players, but it's a huge step up to the first team. Cut the guy a bit of slack. In my opinion, he was on a hiding to nothing, Hearts, Rangers, Celtic ... who else would have done better?
-
I just can't see the sense in this move - why would you you have your opponents' manager in charge of your own team? Might as well just wrap the points in Christmas paper just now.

It's not often that I manage to games these days, but I was greatly impressed with the Humph today. He gets my vote, but really all players did well - second half was a joy!

Cheers pal - yer a star!
