When Jennings went off i felt their midfield began to over run us, lots of times in the second half Scott Brown etc were running right through our midfield whereas in the first half Jennings was breaking things up quite well in the middle of the park.
Seriously don't know how a guy that runs about the park like a headless chicken and constantly gives the ball away can merit man of the match <_>

I believe the 3rd Round fixtures are due to be played on the 21st or 22nd September.
Cheers <_>

Sorry but Lasley has been poor for the last two games. Just because he runs about chasing things doesn't make him have a 'good shift', it makes his tired which was shown today seeing as he was blowing out his arse after 70 minutes.
Totally agree with this.

Don't know if it's down to instructions from Craig Brown (known his style of play it's possible) but personally i think it's due to the midfield hiding all the time, especially Hateley. They rarely ever show for the ball when the defence have it resulting in the ball being punted up field for the strikers to live off the scraps.

Brechin away, fuck that for using up the Cup voucher in my season book.
Aye, good point right enough.
-
Brechin at home please! Are the fixtures midweek?

Forget about protecting Murphy, the team Captain should be TAKING the penalties.
Sure, might be a bit of a nail biter seeing seeing big Crags stepping up to take a penatly but he couldn't do much worse than most of his predecessors lately (O'Brien, Forbes, Sutton, Murphy) and if Steven Pressley can do it surely Craigan can!
I seem to remember Craigan scoring a penalty in a penalty shoot out or am I imagining that?
That is crazy talk.

Aye, and look where it got us.
If Gordon Young (and guys like him) are looking to get into first team management maybe they should start in the lower leagues and work his way up.
Nothing against the guy, I just don't want another rookie boss anywhere near us again. McLeish, Davies, Black and Malpas have taught us that they are best left alone.
Agreed.

By my reckoning we'd have occupied the slot that was eventually taken by Lech Poznan, so we missed out on Man City, Juventus and Red Bull Salzburg in Group A.
-
Which club?
-
Saturday's Saturday's Saturday's Shagger!
-
Randolph
Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell
Jennings Lasley
Humphrey Forbes Murphy
Blackman
Keep the same back five as Thursday for obvious reasons. Bring in Jennings for Hateley because i think a rest would do Hateley good and maybe remind him that he isn't guaranteed a start and so won't hide as much in matches.
Also think a rest for Sutton would do him good, and it's about time Forbes got a chance in the team so keeping in mind his lack of pace and engine i would play him just behind Blackman where he can do damge to teams in the last third but also have two sitting midfielders behind him to protect him.
My instructions to Murphy would be to make late runs from out wide to the far post when Humphrey is crossing the ball. Also tell Jennings and Lasley to show for the ball in midfield and not hide so that Saunders, Craigan etc don't have to resort to the long ball.
Going for 2-1 'well with Forbes and Murphy getting the goals
-
Humphrey. Unfortunately we don't have anyone clever enough to peel off to the back post when he crosses

End of the day we got beat of a decent team, both teams played well and lets face it we have been hammered.. What I'm trying to say is it could have been worse take the Tims tonight as an example

Get to your bed Paco, you've got school tommorrow
-
Hateley's good at hide and seek.
-
Apparently Blackman is in for Jenning. Sounds as if we are going for it <_ . just about to leave for the game c well surely once it would be nice if we could do it.>
-
Just over 9000 have been sold as of end of today. That comes direct from Wendy who works in the ticket office.
Great news, hopefully by tommorrow the game will be sold out and it can be the 1 in 100 games where the atmosphere at Fir Park is amazing
-
too true. flow needs to fire a bit up on the website with wee broon telling everyone to get on the sauce prematch. whether its a bottle of tonic or a fine malt, a few beers or a couple of litres of poof juice everyone should do their bit and get pissed for victory
if we could reproduce the atmosphere from the game at tynecastle the night before hogmanay last year we'd have the danish scared shitless.
Me and my mates were just talking about that game. Atmosphere was unbelievable that night due to the fact so many folk were pished. If the atmoshpere is half as good as it was that night then it will be some noise.
-
I'd go with:
Randolph
Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell
Lasley Hateley
Humphrey Sutton Murphy
Nick the Blackman
Sutton just to keep an eye on Djemba Djemba and Murphy and Humphrey getting back to help out defensively when we dont have the ball. Think this one will go into extra time and penalties, but lets just hope the atmosphere is good and we can get a result

I take it the few rows in the east stand next to the south stand will be closed off again?
Think row A to D are closed off in that section.

But we didn't win today, and i know it's early days but we haven't even looked like scoring against the better sides in the league so far.
