  1. We have an initial target of £4,500 which should pay for all material costs, postage and delivery. Once this target is achieved we will then donate any additional funds raised to The Well Society which will be doubled by Les Hutchison.

Thanks for your continued support. SIWY!

with almost £4k banked there is a chance that this initial target could be achieved within 24 hours which would be a tremendous boost to everyone involved and help keep the buzz driving on.

I'm not sure what seeing players, staff, executives and directors, Pedro  , the SFA compliance officer and hundreds of Motherwell fans chipping in indicates, but its a nice feeling!

go on , join in !

  2. as strange as it it , following a 2 goal performance from a star striker

I too am going for Trevor Carson , the most quietly assured performance in a huge game from any keeper I can remember

  3. Still a startling number of keyboard warriors from the past few years who have the balls to put their hands up.

Just goes to show, for every good guy in C&A, theres two dicks. Still a better ratio than any other team in the league.

Genuinely interested in WTF this post even means ?

  4. Not upset with that in the slightest and no desire to cause upset to others.

But you do along with a few others, by shouting down anyone with a different opinion, or psyche, which you deem negative

why are fellow fans not allowed to evaluate performances or league positions as they see it and discuss on an open forum?

others respond to points, your likes just tell them they are wrong and shouldn't be looking/commenting about games/players/club/income/league standings that way.

if nobody throws up queries or observations - there is no debate or opportunity to discuss / reflect on improvement opportunities or even that constraints would prevent change, but its still nice to consider potential for an even better outcome, by exploring perceived weakness or even just balancing expectation

    and right on cue :pleasantry:

  5. Fair to say more give the effort than withdraw labour, one that comes to mind is' Pearson - did not give an ounce of effort even when Butcher still picked him, and I dont believe (even more so with hindsight) he would kick a ball for any team after deciding his future was elsewhere.

thankfully Moult is in a different person from him on so many levels , hopefuly he can get the rewards from football pearson did

Terry Butcher had made strenuous efforts to retain Pearson at Fir Park but finally agreed to the transfer, believing the player had "emotionally and contractually" left the club.

"We have very reluctantly accepted an offer of £350,000, " said chairman Bill Dickie.

"Initially, Celtic offered £250,000, but that was wholly unacceptable.

"Although the offer was increased, we still feel it is substantially below the true value of the player and we were perfectly prepared to leave the matter to a tribunal.

"However, after extensive discussions with Terry Butcher, it became clear he did not have any confidence in Stephen Pearson being ready and willing to meet the challenges that will lie ahead at Fir Park until the end of the season.

  6. Jay or anyone else from the society thats lurking, one of these months I'll make that surgery!

in the meantime I'll not dwell on concerns around other soceity business regarding allocation of memberships funds,

but need to state one thing, the society selling club shares, which are the societies only financial assets, if it does go ahead ,

should only be selling these shares to society members.

    imho.

  7. The Birmingham scout was at the Aberdeen cup game too.

there appears to be 6-12 scouts nearly every game recently

speculatively - how much is Moult worth to Motherwell January to May?

    Scottish Cup Rounds:

    Fourth Round 20 January 2018

    Fifth Round 10 February 2018

    Quarter-Finals 3 March 2018

    Semi-Finals 14 & 15 April 2018

    Final 19 May 2018

League place - last season was maybe easy , 11 or relegation.... , what does Louis mean to league place this season for those 4-5 months

  8. Had a quick look on the spfl rules and it appears that if you enter in round 1, which we did, it's 3 yellows for a suspension therefore we are all in the clear.

Rules changed, so that's not quite what's in play, although effectively , we are still in the clear.

    it's now as reads below:

Accumulation of two cautionable offences in the

Betfred Cup (caution totals revert to zero prior to

start of Round 2 and prior to the start of semi-final

    rounds)

  9. Stuck with the orignal intentions Dave.

So as well as the earlier payment to cover Louis Moult away , Peter Hartley away sponsorship has now been paid to the club

so thanks for all the contribtions , I'll sort something out later in the season to draw a couple of winners , who'll receive the sponsorsed tops and the invite to the end of season event.

  10. I'd heard (from someone who knew Softy) that in Tommy McLean's last couple of seasons, every player was on £15,000 a year and an alleged £450 a point bonus and further league position bonuses. The only differences between players was supposed to be in signing on fees.

I remember that kind of structure being rumoured under McLean.

I also remember Jimmy Sanderson going mental on Radio Clyde when he heard that a McLean team was on a bigger bonus for beating Killie (a relegation rival at the time) than they were for beating the OF.

Tommy Coyne confirmed there was a wage cap when he arrived at the club in the excellent interview for the podcast book off air 2 - clicky

“When I first arrived at Fir Park there was a wage-cap in place,I liked that –

there was no huge difference between the wages of our players and I think it helped the team spirit that we were all treated equally.”

Actually on that note, get ordering Off-air 3 - limited print run click here

The quality of the first two has been outstanding and all the profits from this one go the Well society and will be doubled with the Les Hutchison double money offer

Anyone notice Faddy signed a deal at Queen of the South :cheese:

Edit: Faddy and Tommy Coyne m'lord in one post - I can leave the internet now

  11. Saw Les and his wife sponsoring something at the Bothwell Scarecrow festival last week. So he is still about.

Was there some doubt over his existence?

He was at the Hearts game, looking well enough

    Unless Irma has caught him
