    Hi Div.

Div is there anyway that the charity signed shirt for injured troops can be moved to main forum?

    cheers Rod.

  2. Higdon will score you goals, but if you are expecting them to be headers from wide delivery then think again, he is actually quite poor in the air for a big guy, which is mainly because he doesn't actually jump for the ball. You will find all this out for yourselves, but for Higdon to thrive he actually needs the ball to his feet in the box, then he will do some damage.
  3. Honest assessment from a Saints fan on Higdon; He can hold the ball up, and if he gets good service in the box he will score goals, no doubt about it. I will absolutely guarantee you though that your fans will be frustrated with his work ethic and the amount of fouls that are rightly or wrongly given against him. We are also well placed to answer the important question. Is he better than Sutton ? No.
  4. I love how so many of you are labelling St.Mirren with the "Cowdenbeath" tag We had ONE ex-Cowdenbeath player in the side last night, and he was the best player on the park by a country mile.
  5. Thanks for the points boys, much appreciated We needed them a lot more than you did, and to be fair it's about time you got proper punishment for that "pitch" of yours

    New Owners?

It will become serious enough in good time !

    New Owners?

There were numerous consortiums "interested" in buying St.Mirren when we were up for sale, including foreign ones. These came and went and mostly didn't make the media. This could also come to nothing but the info did come to me from a good source !

    New Owners?

No wind up gents. Guess only time can prove that but I am sure the trusty hacks who lurk on P&B will follow it up.
  9. I think you appear to be talking about a different incident to me and one I'm not aware of happening. What I was talking about was Jim O'Brien nutmegging Jack Ross right on the touchline, maybe five yards inside the St.Mirren half, and Ross standing up straight in front of him and blocking him from running past him. If there was another incident then I certainly don't recall it ? As for their being "double the attackers that there were defenders" - that doesn't really matter either. There only has to be one other defending player capable of preventing the goal, other than the goalkeeper of course. Otherwise it isn't a clear or obvious opportunity. Anyway, enough of this pish, it doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.
  10. I've not been near Wikipedia in months, honest guv ! Nothing I've said is untrue. The offence has be stopping a clear goalscoring opportunity and I'm afraid 45 yards out on the touchline doesn't fall into that category. Ask yourself why there hasn't been any mention of this incident in any of the press reports of the game ? It wasn't in the least bit controversial, that's why.
  11. Well there is no such offence in the game as a "professional foul" so you'd need to argue that a player 45 yards from goal, standing right on the touchline, was denied "a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity". I'd suggest not, hence why Jack Ross wasn't red carded. It was a good booking to take for sure, and don't tell me you've never seen a Motherwell player take a card for the team ! Quite. I am sure we are the only football supporters in the world who abuse the players in the opposing team.
  12. Can't comment on how it went in as I was too far away to see properly but suffice to say, if you let a centre forward get a free header in the box from a free kick, you're asking for trouble.
  13. No. Letting our centre forward get a free header from the penalty spot meant you got what you deserved there I'm afraid. He wasn't being booed because of Jack Ross flooring him on the touchline. That challenge was worthy of a booking. He was hardly "clean through" . He was booed because of the comments he made about the St.Mirren support in the media following Saturday's game.
  14. I think the problem with such a young side is you will get bullied and kicked and harassed by clubs with more experienced pro's. St.Mirren are certainly a big and physical side these days and we will almost certainly struggle for goals more this coming Saturday against Hamilton, also a big physical side, than we did the last two games with Motherwell. We do have some class in Andy Dorman, and I'd counter the post above that says Stephen McGinn is rubbish as he has been in superb form this season. We still have Dargo to come into that side and he gives us something a bit different. I still think we are pretty average when all said and done though. In this day and age though average is quite good ! I'd say of the six goals we did score against Motherwell, three of them were a tad fortunate. The deflection for the second goal last night, the own goal, and the third one on Saturday. We won't carry that luck for long and I'm sure we'll be back down to earth with a bump this weekend. Great support through last night by the way, first team to sell out the away stand other than the ugly sisters of course.
