I've always wondered why we've never seemed to have any longevity or make anything formal with links to some of the bigger English clubs. 2 years ago it was muted that Everton were going to send barrel loads of kids and fringe players our way after the success of Ruddy and the Duke. Last season it was Blackburn (to be fair, both managers seemed to have half their team loaned to the SPL) and already now there have been talk of Leeds Utd (only due to the fact they are playing us in what is essentially a meaningless friendly). I suppose it may limit us to only their players opposed and hence why its never been pursued.

I hope with the envisaged support following Leeds, the club follows on from the Dundee Utd cup replay and charges £10 for an adult. Could easily have 10,000 in the ground and £85k in the coffers.

Surely there is scope for the SPL to take the glamour friendlies into account when they are working out the first few weeks fixtures? Treat it like an SPL over a Scottish Cup 6th round weekend, tie up teams who are at a loose end. I'd like to think that with us starting 2-3 weeks earlier than normal, a team committed to the league they play in won't end up with only one game under their belt. Of course there is scope for there to be an odd number of teams playing friendlies and consequently one SPL team will be stilling twiddling its thumbs through no fault of their own.

The only person here who has done anything stupid here has been Sir Alex, £15m for a 20 year old with one season under his belt ..... Jesus wept ..... the worlds going mental.

Removed Rangers at FP on opening day as that was an oversight on my part (and you could argue Celtic away is also a long shot) but as we've learned, common sense and logic don't really go hand in hand with the SPL.

With the new fixture listing being unveiled next Friday (17th) I thought it be interesting to see what people presume we'll end up with and what fate deals us. I think it will be a definite away clash as we were home against Hibs last season, probably another top 6 team, can see it being Ibrox if I'm honest and watching them unveil the flag. Love to be home against Aberdeen and give Brown a doing in the sun, then all 2,000 owners of the club can line up to tell him exactly what they think of him at the final whistle now Boyle set the precedent.

Long and short is both Brown and McCall (to a lesser extend Youngie too) watched him in training day in, day out and if he was showing all these signs of mesmeric brilliance he would have surely featured more than he did. I'm tend to go with the judgement of a former Scotland manager with x years in management and a former Scottish internationalist as to who is good enough to feature in their team when their reputation and job security is on the line. How he got the gig here in the first place and got past Brown and Knox still mystifies me. Personally I'd recommend the UK's most hated woman, Heather Mills hire Hammerfist as her PR advisor, she'd have a talkshow on primetime and get a MBE from Lizzie within 6 months.
