Valakari looks to have done pretty well in Finland although I have no idea how much of a feat that is
Took over the team in 2012 just after they were promoted to the 2nd tier, finished 2nd in his first season, 1st the following season and promotion then 2nd last year in the top league. They are currently sitting top of the league with 4 games left.
Also noticed while I was looking this up that Harri Kampman got the sack a couple of years back

Similar type of appointment next time according to Les Hutchison on Sportsound so I guess it will be someone we haven't heard of
-
Although we do seem to have a tough start, three of the first 5 teams we play are competing in Europe and Hearts will be in the League Cup so we may benefit from playing them earlier due to tiredness from traveling.
It's the period before the split that worries me. If we want to make top six, we need to be well clear of seventh with 4 or 5 games to go because we might struggle to pick up points in the run in

Rangers really are the gift that keeps on giving.
Here is a statement from whoever the "Vanguard Bears" are
Vanguard Bears condemn the disgraceful scenes witnessed at Fir Park on Sunday 31st May 2015 both during and after the Motherwell versus Rangers game.
In what was a hostile environment, the home fans indulged in what can best be described as hate crimes.
Fans at the game and those watching live on TV were firstly subjected to the following chant, “We f*cking hate Rangers” early on in the first half. This clearly set the tone for what was to follow.
Rangers Club Captain Lee McCulloch was assaulted by a flag-wielding Motherwell supporting thug, being struck on his face just below the eye by the three foot long flag pole. To date, the assailant remains at large.
Following the final whistle, Bilel Mohsni was cowardly attacked from behind by Motherwell player Lee Erwin, and reacted to this assault in a manner not consistent of that of a Rangers player. It is probably best that Mohsni’s contract at Ibrox is up as he will have been a targeted man, with Rangers-hating rag, The Daily Record, already leading the vitriolic campaign to have him punished. Real Rangers fans do not buy “The Record” despite one of our Board members describing it as "courageous".
Erwin, despite making light of the events on Twitter, should find himself up in front of the football beaks, and will be very fortunate to escape punishment from the law of the land as Police Scotland have stated they are investigating the incident. A number of other Motherwell players identified on TV indulging in violent behaviour towards Mohsni will also be fortunate to escape Police and SPL censure.
Hundreds of snarling Motherwell supporters invaded the pitch, not to celebrate their teams’ victory but to goad and provoke the 1500 or so Rangers fans who were behaving impeccably in the away end. The question should be asked why the majority of Match Day Stewards and Police Officers were deployed in front of the travelling support, when clearly throughout the game it was the Motherwell support that had been indulging in unacceptable behaviour and seemed hell-bent on keeping that going.
We also express our disappointment but not surprise at the weak statement issued by Rangers FC regarding this matter and hope that we are not returning to the bad old days of dignified silence when it comes to defending the club and its fans from those who find it easy to hate.
Highlight has to be "To date, the assailant remains at large."

Clearly Josh Law won't be signing for Rangers
-
Today's highlight on The Rangers media has to be the "Pubs near Fir Park" thread recommending drinking in the electric or...... the cross keys before the game
-
Taken from Rangers Media. Looks like they've definitely identified our dangermen here
What do we know about Motherwell?.........

Wearing a Claret and Amber top none the less!! Imrie Well Super fan
Going out with Craig Moore's sister according to Chick Young

I think their internet is out of date. Seem to be worried about how Higdon has scored 19 goals and posting a line up of last years team

Got a message from my Ukrainian mate who follows Russian football pretty closely...
"Worst possible draw for Motherwell"
-
Have any of the group from the end of the East thought of moving to the other side of the stand? It would put them more in the middle of the 'well fans and then there could be a proper "mini bois" section in the Cooper too for more of the stuff we seen yesterday.
Surely there's more chance of spreading the singing when they're surrounded by other folk rather than a 90% empty South stand for most games?
-
It was mentioned in one of the recent programmes. Maybe the Dundee Utd one?
The sponsorship also includes renaming of the stand rather than just the signage as previously so I would expect we are getting a decent fee. It is after all one of the most visible advertising spaces in Lanarkshire.
-
Same problem here. Everything else seems to work except that one
-
All McCall's statement means is that we won't be getting any loans in. We wouldn't be paying a fee anyway so the transfer window doesn't really affect a club our size.
In the next few weeks we may see some out of contract players lower their expectations if they still have no club and it's them we would be more likely to sign.
Waiting for the McFadden rumours to start again now
-
Depends if you only include first team players. I'm sure some small fees and compensation will have been paid when bringing in some of the youngsters from elsewhere.

I think this means that Diop isn't in the Levante squad now due to visa problems. Also the flight delay might unsettle the rest of them
Not the easiest to understand in google translate right enough!

I may be wrong but are the "community projects" not mainly funded from grants etc?
Therefore the reading garden and probably the new astro won't be using up funds that could have been used elsewhere.
I thought the reasons for replacing the turf mentioned by the groundsman on MFCTV seemed sensible enough so can't complain about that either. It seems to be only the top layer of grass being replaced so nowhere near the scale of the work done previously. The groundsman says that the seeding is due to tomorrow so that's only 4 days work for a contractor and not going to be anywhere near the previous outlay, assuming the ground staff take over after the seeding is finished.

Because of Porto's result last night and them already qualifying for the Champions league, the cup holders spot in the Europa League isn't needed.
This means that the entry round of a couple of countries is now changed and the winner of the Scottish Cup now goes straight into the playoff round of the Europa league, only one round from the group stage...
Would be nice to be going into Europe a round later than Celtic
got it from here

One year deal according to the official site.
New strip again next season then...

Does this look like the black team No. 9 to anyone?
He looks very similar in appearance to me and seems to be well regarded by fans at Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Also scored a belter against Rangers in the UEFA cup a few years ago

I was speaking to a colleague in Kolkata today and he says there's been no mention of Pearson over there. He reckons it may even just be a loan since the season only runs for 3 months of the year. I'd take £100k for a 3 month loan.
