Bumped into Grant Jarvie today who is seeking election to the Well Society Board. Incredibly well connected internationally, serious revenue generating credentials, and wide experience of the impact of football on the community and women’s football. Well worth a vote.

I didn’t ask for examples I think you might have provided them for someone else. I just commented on them. I think they can work too but just not at a level that can bring investment to the club that will provide meaningful sustainable growth.

I’ve recently been involved in a community asset transfer process for a football pitch. After costs there’s not much left. Opta stats are not the same as health information that is personal to you. I don’t think ‘tough luck’ will cut it with many investors. I appreciate you thought these up at short notice as examples.

I’d be surprised if this level of investment would be available. There are already sophisticated examples of both these systems on the market sold globally that have cost a fortune to develop. It’s difficult to see why they would pay Motherwell to use them. I’m not sure they would go for that level of revenue split either.

I have some queries on your hypotheticals Who meets the cost of maintaining the pitch, ensuring it’s clean and safe for each let. Who pays the utility bills and what are these costs because that will eat significantly into any profits. I’m your star player, and I don’t want my data shared because I or my agent is doing a separate deal with the sports data company, or just because it is protected by GDPR. What happens if I invest £500k in new equipment and facilities for Academy and the Academy produces zilch. How do I get a return on my investment?

Ok. I’ll make this simple too. If you think close on 100% administrative tasks are completed successfully then I am happy for you but if you can back this up with hard evidence I’ll believe you. I’ll wait. All businesses across all business sectors expend effort and resources to try and ensure they are ahead of their competitors as they identify them. It doesn’t just impact on football.

‘The football side is hard but the directors don’t have input into that’. How do you evidence that statement. ’The administrative side is easy’. So running an £8 million pound busy with all the adjacent issues and challenges could be done by a sausage dog. So ensuring crowd safety is easy; ensuring compliance is easy; managing HR issues is easy; dealing with licensing is easy. Do me a favour.

Excellent compared to what? Queen’s Park are developing better facilities, Aberdeen have built Cormack Park, Killie have just announced work on a new training facility, Hibs have 7 pitches and 90 plus acres at Tranent, Dundee are working with their Council to develop a site at Riverside, etc. Dalziel Park is a rudimentary facility and the lower pitch floods frequently.

Negative and slanderous comments. Where? I'd say objective rather than negative and I don't know where I have slandered anyone. For example I haven't labelled anyone crooked. However, my opinion is the current Well Society board don't have the experience and skills to direct a business with a value of £8 million. I hope I am proved wrong and will be more than happy to say so if that's the case.'

I want it to….but i don’t think it will. There’s just not the skills or experience on the board. I say this with the greatest of respect and admiration for the current board. They’ve put themselves in a position to be shot at for the love of their club and that takes great courage and commitment. i honestly hope I’m proven wrong

Apologies. I just took the £11 million from the earlier post. I still don’t think you could get £8 million for it, and my worries over the Well Society being able to direct an asset of this size still remain. in terms of Jim McMahon, as a company director he has a legal obligation to act in the best interests of the company which I am sure he feels he is doing - rightly, or wrongly. I’m not sure if ‘crooked’ is an apt descriptor for a lifelong Motherwell supporter who has dipped into his own pocket to ensure both you and I had a Motherwell team to watch on a Saturday.
