  1. Hi again, just wanted to congratulate you and cheer you on ahead of the vital game against Odense next week. Really hope you go through because you deserve it. Motherwell will always have a special place in the hearts of us at Breiðablik as being our first European opponent. Hopefully not the last. As I speak the club is now making a special cabinet at the stadium in honor of Motherwell for being our first oppenent in Europe. It will showcase the clubs jersey, flag and some other items. Its part of our history now. We are currently still very much in the hunt for the League title, trailing IBV by two points with 6 rounds to go!!! Best of luck in the future. Thor.
  2. Thanks. I know FH are much poorer now than last season. However this is just how the standard of Icelandic football is and the best teams are maybe of 3rd division scottish quality. Hopefully Breiðablik will compete in the Champions League next season, the preliminary rounds that is and do better than FH.
  3. It was a pleasure and I would like to wish you the best of luck for the future.
  4. On the contrary it was the peaceful Norwegians that went to Iceland because of they opposed the king. Looking forward to beating Norway in September
  5. Video Interview with Murphy after the game yesterday, talking to Icelandic reporter: http://fotbolti.net/fullStory.php?action=v...ry&id=94715
  6. Cheers, Motherwell is my new favourite team and I will keep a close eye on your upcoming season. Hopefully you will have a great season and Breiðablik will be champions. I am not dissapointed about losing the tie as this was our first european campaign, albeit a very short one. I am also impressed by the way the Motherwell staff, the manager and players have talked with respect about Breiðablik not like other teams over the years about Icelandic teams. Now go and beat those Norwegians Respect.
  7. You deserved to go through. Thanks for a good contest and hopefully you'll make it through to the groupstages.
  8. I will look out for Motherwell results this season for sure and if you get past us hope you'll enjoy a good European run and get at least to the group stages.
  9. Non taken, I know we are probably not a decent team by Scottish standards even though we are leading the league in Iceland which is far inferior than the SPL. I hope we will play the game of our lives next week to put pressure on Motherwell. In football anything can happen but.......
  10. Everyone at Breidablik seems delighted with the result and I think the team will score at home, however 3 goals is a tall order. I read that Alfred Finnbogason played his worst game this season, not a good game to do that. Hower I think he will be the key next week for us. Just think its too difficult to overcome. A 1-2 loss would have been a different kettle of haggis.
  11. Yay, I think result is a victory for us and in a sense Icelandic football. Getting beat by only one goal away in Scotland is a massive feat for a small club like Breiðablik. However the win could have been much greater and if both teams would have met on a equal ground regarding fitness I think the difference between the teams is about 5 goals. I think Motherwell will deffo score in Iceland so for us to score 3 goals will be too much. Still I am very proud and thanks to Motherwell supporters for a great sportmanship.
  12. Im wandering between this site, commentary on Mbl.is, the Uefa site and BBC. I cant watch the screen anymore but I am absolutely proud of my team.
  13. I guess but you will be fitter next week and probably 30% better than now. I know we are not a good team by your standards so holding it only 1-0 in this game would be a victory for us.
  14. Phew Breiðablik managed to get through the first half. The floodgates will probably open in the 2nd half. Looks like Motherwell should be few goals ahead.
  15. Im so EXITED!! I JUST CANT HIDE IT!! Breiðabliks first ever European game!! Ok, I'll stop now
  16. Oh no. Alfred Finnbogason has injured himself and will not play . Let the mindgames begin....This is the offical match thread right?
  17. I would say the Icelandic league is getting stronger and stronger and now a Scottish defender Jamie McCunnie has joined one of the clubs, Haukar - it will be even stronger Anyone know anything about this player? maybe we should have taken a punt on his as the Breiðablik is defence is the weak point of the team.

    Ins & Outs

Just wanted to put this input here. This was reported in a danish media today about Liverpool reserve team player Victor Palsson who hails from Iceland . He is being linked with a loan move this season but is now travelling with the first team squad in Switzerland. "There are Portuguese, French, Danish and Dutch clubs interested in Palsson. There are also several other english clubs in the picture and TWO scottish clubs showed an interest already in June," Palssons agent Mads Winther told Bold.dk. Maybe Motherwell one of the two? http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Palsson-agent-Tre-danske-bejlere
  20. Thought they were from Ukraine. Makes its alot more damning for us at Breiðablik. I really think we are going to get spanked tomorrow, I mean by 3-4 or 5 goals. Its getting more and more clearer for me. I just hope we catch Motherwell at an off day.
  21. Yes it was 0-0 at HT but BATE ran over them in the second half, although BATE are leading the Ukraine league as well as only conceding 4 goals in 18 games I fear the same tomorrow. Maybe you guys will use the 1st half in getting accustomed to us then BAMM in the 2nd half. This BATE result does only make my fear worse. FH Hafnarfjördur ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT one of the best teams in Iceland and they were bitchslapped by BATE tonight.
  22. Ohh ok. Thought maybe that "lesser" games, compared to bigger ones would be broadcested on the site.
  23. Is it available to users outside of Britain? Thanks in advance.
