Been lot of debate on both sides of argument which is good as we all have our own opinions. I think a big problem is Alexander's personality, he doesn't come across as a manager you woukd want to play for and his interviews are cringeworthy. At end of day if we beat utd on Saturday this forum is a tad more upbeat but I still feel GA has a lot to improve on. This is a man who despite being a full back seems to have a problem recognising a good one..ie..Carroll...mcginley and playing bevis there...COYW
Nail on head grizzly!

Where do they say they are not including offside? The press release says they are implementing the same system as in England and setting up cameras at all 12 grounds. And the plan is to check every goal. That check has to include offside or there is no point.
Then there's rule 7. For serious, missed incidents in matches. They must be watching the entire game so no reason not to include offsides.

Pity we couldnae kick oor ain arse!

I agree. Especially as he was hung out to dry. Expected to cover all across the back line, even to the extent of right back. And when Celtic were rampaging down the left he received no help whatsoever from Goss, Donnelly and Carroll who spent more time playing hide and seek than tracking back. He did make a few mistakes, but at least he was willing to get involved and never hid. The others mentioned would do well to look at the way the youngsters applied themselves.
What got me was not the defeat, but the manner of it. One poster said the players were no less committed than they were in the previous matches. Not so. Against St Mirren and County all the players put in the effort., even if the end results were poor. Sunday was just depressing.
Seems to be a recurring theme though TBF I think Goss is carrying an injury, I don't think a midfield 3 of Slattery, McGuire and Cornelius would be any worse.

Strange how folk view things differently. I thought the main reason Maguire had to check back so often was because several players were not making themselves available for a pass. Woolery and Roberts, for so called wingers, spent most of the match trying unsuccessfully to be centre forwards and Goss and Donnelly were just nowhere to be seen. If it was not for both (much maligned} full backs, Maguire would have had no outlet whatsoever. Maguire was the only midfielder prepared to go looking for the ball. In fact it was a re-run of Dingwall for much of the match.
And I don't get the Goss love in either. Sure, he can make a lovely pass from time to time (the touch to Donnelly for the winner) but too often he passes the buck and plays others into trouble. I lost count of the number of times McGinley in particular was sold short and then moaned at for not getting a cross in because he was closed down. I expect more from Goss as he certainly has the ability. Van Veen, Tierney and Slattery had an immediate impact as we all saw. It's amazing what energy, movement and demanding the ball can achieve. Even then Tierney was often ignored as he found space to receive a pass.
I hope Alexander finds a way to include all three of those substitutes from the start against Hibs, but I'm not sure where Tierney will fit when Alexander sticks to his usual formation. I think he would be best suited to slotting in behind two strikers, which is the position he excelled in before he joined us.
Agree, I thought Maguire knocked his pan in covering for the hide and seek champs in midfield!

If any of our newer/foreign players aren't sure about who Imrie is, just show them the game when he was picking his nose instead of shaking hands! Vile wee cretin!

Development has to change given reserve football won’t feature again next season.
Debateable that reserve football in Scotland serves any purpose & it’s arguable our development players need to play within an environment with a competitive edge.
The way things are going it'll be colt teams in the lower leagues, this seems like the favoured plan!

I'm hoping that David is anxious to pull on the Motherwell jersey next season! All the hype he'll get now will attract the attention of the kind of clubs ie. continental teams like Madrid, PSG etc. that would suit his style and then the bidding war can start, happy outcome for all concerned. Fuck going to Celtic, what a waste!
