  1. Hope the police and stewards just haul them out if they make themselves known at any point. Rangers are taking the piss with tickets. Give them the same ratio, roughly 280 tickets. Potential to make more money if we stay up, so take the gamble and miss out on income from 1 match. Bigger gates against Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts then Hibs, St Mirren and Falkirk

  2. Just wondering if anyone knows roughly when the TV scheduling for Decembers matches will be released? I'm looking at my shifts and need to try and work it around the fixtures. It's mainly the Celtic match I'm needing to know about ASAP!

    Thanks for any help!

  3. 2 other names to throw into the mix. One good, one that fills me with fear. Good option would be Alan Johnston, not sure how much he would cost tho. One other obvious one would be John Hughes, just sacked from Hartlepool. That would be a terrible move, but a cheap option.

  4. Wasnt sure what to name the topic!

It was just to see if anyone in the know knows what the plans for the squad are tonight, I dont mean personally, but will they be staying at a hotel together or just meeting before the match tomorrow?

Personaly I think the best preparation they can have is staying at a hotel under one roof, then everyone gats the cahnce to relax and focus on the game. Also gives the gaffer a lot more time to be with the players and discuss things etc with them. However, I know there is not a bottomless pit of money available, so this might rule this out as an option.

Like I say, just curious to know if anyone knows the plans?

  5. Like I said above, its just a vague idea at the moment. I dont know what the avearge Motherwell palyer earns at the moment, But Id have thought that £500 per week towards it should help. It all relative to how much fans can afford, cause not too many of us earn £100000 a week!!

  6. Ive been thinking about the small budget that the club has to work with in order to maintain a decent standard playing squad, and times are tougher now than ever. But I have been having a wee think, and came up with the following idea, as the description suggests, it might be a stupid idea!

Theres a good core of Motherwell fans who want to have the best interests of the club at heart, and bleed Claret and Amber. But I was wondering if theres enough of us to make a committment to the club. A committment to provide them with the funding towards a players wages. If enough of us committed to paying £ or £10 a month for the next year it could be the difference between gettina a new player or a loan addition in next Januarys transfer window.

500 fans paying £5 per month into an account equates to £2500 a month, by next year that could be £30000 to give the club to fund a decent players wages. The reason Im saying a year is we couldnt guarentee everyone could pay every month, so we would need to wait and see exactly how much was there.

Obviously this is just a vague idea, and the logistics would take some looking into, like setting up a bank account where the money can be safely held for this purpose, and a committment from the club that the money would fund a player etc.

Every little helps, and if it meant that 1 extra player could be funded, I'd be willing to pay £60 over the next year!

But was just curious if people might get behind this idea and if it was worth trying to look at the finer points and making some sort of proposal to put to the club?

  7. And its a comfy armchair too!! Have travelled everywhere before, and looking forward to the wee man growing up and we will both travel everywhere together! Until now I must bow down to the cold weather, and the wife!!

  8. Im giving this one a miss, just watch it on Sky with my 4 year old. Dont fancy the chance of a prolonged journey, and prob too cold to have him out in!

Safe journey to all the travelling well fans!! Heres hoping its a happy trip back!!

    C'Mon the 'Well!!

  9. I dont buy the fact you are paying someone else to do the work for you, a travel agent can get the same deal we get, at the same cost, not double the price. The only difference is not being able to return straight after the match, but you can fly out on matchday, so either way only 1 night away, or 2 days off work.

  10. I too think the prices are very steep. Commercial airlines must be making a profit from the fares they are selling, and you can fly Glasgow to Copenhagen with BMI for £305 return. So its not just the low cost airlines who are cheaper, the main airlines are too. The club seem delighted to announce a great deal, but where is the great deal??

I think the club need to get better connections to negotiate better prices, like you sa it is very very steep for one night.
